Absolute horrendous stay
Absolute horrendous stay. I have emailed the hotel twice now about our complaints and still no response.

Absolute horrendous stay. I have emailed the hotel twice now about our complaints and still no response.
I went for afternoon tea yesterday with a friend.
I had booked the table got there on time, table wasn't ready. Waited 10 minutes table ready. Went into the room very disappointed at the room and lay out of the table, no table cloth and layed out without any thought or preparation
Waited 15 minutes to be asked what we wanted to drink and then another 20 minutes for the food.
Wasn't asked about allergies. Very disappointed in the choice on the food, wasn't offered another plate for dessert or a spoon or fork to eat the dessert with.
I had hight expectations for this afternoon tea treat for my friend and myself and I was so disappointed at it all.
Went into the foyer to sit and have a cold drink and they charged £5 for a glass of pepsi max, shocking price for a drink of pop, bar lady had a miserable face on her, and the lady who served the afternoon tea did nothing but huff and puff.
Smart casual the dress code said, some people were coming into the hotel looking very shabby.
There were only two other people having afternoon tea so why we had to wait so long is beyond me.
Will not be returning.
Attempted contact multiple times over the last week and still not managed to get through, on hold every time and same message goes over n over again - not experienced this with hotel receptions or reservations before but so very time consuming. !!!
Look its a large old building in Blackpool ,i have been visiting blackpool literally man and boy over 55 years now and I know this hotel has seen much much better days.
booked to stay over and see a show we booked only a standard double.
Found check in very quick and friendly headed to the room and very surprised to be in a sea view room.
No doubt some of the furniture and possibly the carpet was nearly as old as me but the room was large , clean well maintained and warm.
Very large older style but again spotlessly clean and well maintained bathroom.
room had a fridge and kettle plus older flat screen tv as well as reasonably fast wifi very easy to connect.
The tv did not have any channels on checking the aerial cable had come out the socket , replaced it and had all the basic tv channels you would expect in the uk , tv had no smart functions was operated by a cheap looking universal remote but it worked.
had no issues during the stay with the room door or keycard.
The hotel was very very quiet during our stay and the main bar was closed but a smaller bar was opened in the evenings which we never visited and the breakfast was help yourself to continental but the cooked breakfast was by order and brought to the table.
we found this oder process pretty painless hot food when ordered arrived within around 5 minutes hot and seemd fresh.
I have seen reviews of others not happy with this breakfast system or the food but its probably an individual thing we certainly enjoyed the food.
As said earlier we were in town for a show , as such we got out and about to maximise or free time and didnt use any services not already commented on.
Checkout we just dropped the room card in the box.
For its location and what we paid I cant really fault the place , my wife has already booked to return with her mother later in the year.
We have been coming to this hotel for many years, but now it’s time to say ‘bye’ and move on as it has lost its way.
My family stayed in January and it was a dreadful experience. When we’ve stayed at peak times there is always a ridiculously long wait to check-in with queue stretching to the door because just one person on reception. The irony is that we've been three times in the hotel’s quiet period, and still a ridiculously long wait - because no one on reception. Employees even wander past while you’re waiting, no bell on the desk – but I suspect they know in the staff room that customers are waiting.
Lots of problems during stay (as a family we had two rooms), had to move rooms twice because problems, also electronic door locks failing, rooms far too cold, faulty TVs, leaking taps, bar areas too cold to sit. One main gripe was the breakfast, rather than buffet it was cooked to order – but this was awful. Coffee unavailable, no supplies for the pancake machine, order brought-out wrong twice for all five of us, bacon uneatable, egg cooked beyond recognition. I should have demanded a refund, the guy cooking clearly was out of his depth in a kitchen.
I've just heard from my daughter and her extended family that they had all booked to stay next month, I’d not updated them on our recent experience. Fortunately they were able to cancel without penalty.
The critical factor is nobody at the hotel is interested interested in feedback, as can be seen by lack of response. We know things will occasionally go wrong, but management at this hotel does not care when customers have valid reason to be dissatisfied, so do like we are now, there is lots of choice nearby, so stay away from the Imperial.
I am not sure why the Hotel reviews so badly.
I expect people have expectations far in excess of their budget.
Sure if you are paying £40 for a double room you may not have a sea view at the Imperial.
I’ve stayed here for years and frankly I am more than pleased with my £79 double with sea view and breakfast.
You won’t beat it for value and location anywhere in Blackpool.
The staff are kind and friendly and the rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean.
The hotel is abysmal, dirty and certainly not as photographed or described. We were given a room that on entering stank of stale food, we requested another room and it was absolutely filthy and not fit for purpose, our 3rd option was described as an upgrade yet it too was unclean, in desperate need of decoration and basic modern upgrade, as we had no choice other than sleep in our car we had to accept it. This hotel is falsely advertised a 4* hotel with in accurate pictures and a hotel that shouldn’t be offering accommodation in its current state. I booked this via booking.com. The reality is nothing in comparison to the pictures it is false and misleading.
Booked via booking.com. Selected dog friendly charges may apply. No option to add on booking.com and non refundable booking. Arrived and advised £20 per dog per night and a £30 hold fee! Charges £10 per day to use the car park on the hotel grounds. Given a room with a window that didn’t open. It was hot and with two dogs it wasn’t ideal. The room was dated and filthy. Not allowed to take dogs into entertainment or leave in the room. Food was served until 10pm but couldn’t order at 9.25. A guest then ordered food so we had to argue to order. Just a shambles and I would not return
We check in 1.5 hrs after the 3pm time. Took ages stood there
Was given a Small twin on 3rd floor. I’m disabled so had Two corridors to walk down. Room was hot with a small window. The bathroom was tiny red hot radiator on Full. No window at all
We had to get outside on way asked for it to be turned off. Was told ok. As it was the hottest day yet. And asked for a fan. Nither materialist phoned again at 9.45 one was delivered. Since we last stayed it is really deteriorated hotel. Tired everywhere. Dining room staff miserable unhappy looking. All 2nd rate food tried fried egg twice, all Hard. Cheap bread. Also I was Bitten on my leg twice In The night. Woke up with a swollen leg and foot. Now two days later still swollen. Luckily it was only one night. And £10 to park😳
Verry disappointed with this hotel now, really gone down Hill.
Stayed in this hotel on Tuesday 26th November 2024 for one night. Thankfully.
On arrival enquired about checking in 1.5 hours earlier, told cost was £20.00. Obviously I didn't bother.
Then charged £10.00 to leave the car in the large connected car park.
Upon going to my room one and a half hours after the official check in time, I was met with a room that was not prepared for a guest. It was dirty, the bed had been slept in and towels used.
Upon going to the reception I spoke with Jimmy who apologised and gave me room 204.
This room thankfully was clean, however, it was squalid and cramped. The bed only accessible from 1 side.
Whilst visiting from Portugal, I was looking for a hotel that we could book in June next year on our visit to the UK. We will not be going to this hotel if this is the standards of this hotel
