Not sure how I feel about it yet, I went in expecting some form of vegetable beverage because of all the CARROT - TEA shouting but instead was met by a young teenage man teaching youngsters some form of martial art, although he was mispronouncing Japanese words the students seemed unfazed. I'm gonna stick at it and may change my review if the boss man sorts his act out sharpish.

Incredible Karate club, both in its traditional aspects and the sport/competitive side. I have been with the club for roughly 10 years now and have been competing for 2-3. Sensei Jason’s teaching and coaching has allowed me to compete both nationally and internationally. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to start their martial arts journey.

Had my daughter join for what I was told was a free trial period, was pestered for nearly 15 minutes about paying subs by a man who spent the entire time yelling at the younger children for getting moves wrong, will not be going back

My eight year old daughter has always taken little interest in out of school activities. Since starting with Ippon Karate, she has really come out of her shell. Sensai Jason and the other instructors have a great approach to intersecting with the kids and keeping them engaged. I would highly recommend getting your kid involved, especially if you’re looking for a fun, and energetic activity to help boost their self esteem and learn valuable skills in the process.

My daughter joined Ippon Karate Academy at the age of 4 and achieved her shodan-ho (初段号), the junior black belt rank, by the time she was 8. Now a full 1st Dan, she continues to benefit from the exceptional instruction of Sensei Jason Netherton, whose leadership and technical expertise inspire discipline, growth, and excellence across all students. Training four times a week with the senior squad, which proudly includes under-18 England talent, she thrives in an environment dedicated to fostering potential.

We have both our kids attending for the last 7 years and they have thoroughly enjoyed their learning

My 3 boys have been coming to the club 2 for over a year and the eldest decided to join them in September. They all absolutely love it and the Sensei’s are amazing!
My lads confidence has come on in leaps and bounds to one of them not wanting to come out his room to actually looking forward to getting out to karate days. My youngest son is doing great.
As for my eldest he’s been going through an extremely difficult time but since joining the club his anxiety has settled down loads and his Sensei’s are extremely helpful and understanding with what he’s going through.
For that as a mum I can’t thank them enough.

Daughter been in the club for over 3 years! Loved it! Sensei and other kids are amazing! Very supportive environment! The bigger one will look after the smaller ones!

Sensei's Sensei, Junior is top of the world, every time he comes visiting the dojo, the kids learn alot!

Ippon Karate Academy best karate club in the North West. Sensei Jason is excellent. Great form of exercise, very inclusive club for all backgrounds and ages.
The classes are well taught by experienced, friendly Sensei's.
I highly recommend you give it a try!

my son since started training in Ippon karate six years back, He have gained martial arts and lots of friends. The team and training have boosted his fitness and discipline. I would suggest this club to any individual who is looking for self defence, a means of fitness and discipline.

Been at ippon for over 4 years and it’s been amazing and great throughout the years the community is kind and welcoming .Karate has helped my fitness extraordinary and my self defense to protect myself on the streets. I have made many friends here and met a few friends from here that go to my school.

Great class. highly recommend. the academy is like a lil family. I joined in 2022 to work on my fitness and never looked back.
