You get the products cheaper brand new from store …… not worth the hassle it is a waste of time and more important Money
Be wise of the fraudster and looter…
I am surprised that people are still bidding in auctions at John Pye, which, I learnt, picks up products from recycling centres and from companies whose products or devices cannot be repaired, with both parties sharing the “loot.” What baffles me is that there is no regulatory body overseeing their activities, despite the way they systematically get money from people and go scot-free. I stopped bidding with them after many of their former staff warned and advised me several times. People, be wise!
Please avoid this at all costs
Please avoid this at all costs. The pictures make the items look brand new, but when they arrived, they were damaged. As expected, customer service was no help. One of the boxes even contained mostly faulty items. Don’t waste your money—spending a lot of money on something that ends up in the bin is incredibly frustrating. Disappointing experience overall.
Bought a coffeemaker at over £300…
Bought a coffeemaker at over £300 including charges - arrived today with some vital parts missing (actual coffee blender, milk and water tanks). Completely useless without paying substantially more to source the missing parts - I’ve reviewed this company before and repeat would never get involved again. The product description needs to be far more comprehensive to avoid bidding on rubbish items!

Became scammers now...dont trust their description. bought an empty box for the price of product with it .they just mislead you to bid on it .please trust me never Belive is unprofessional cheats.
Bought 3 pallets of building materials…
Bought 3 pallets of building materials from Birmingham site. Went to collect, 80 mile round trip, and after waiting 20 minutes to be served discovery that they were missing. My lots and a few other lots had been stolen off the yard / carpark area. The young lad didn't know what to do, eventually sent me to reception to report it andget a refund. Still waiting over a week later as john pye management need to investigate it and authorise refund. Don't pay until you see the goods as getting your money back is like extracting hens teeth. After 10 years of usually happy buying l won't be using them again
Be careful buying from these auctions
These guys are a complete con . Be aware don’t buy !!!
Brought 4 items from John pye
Brought 4 items from John pye, various warehouses, microwave, airfryer, shark vacuum and washing machine. Got all 4 items for around £80 each.
All items were delivered within days, airfryer, washing machine and microwave were all brand new items and all working perfectly with no damage.
Shark vacuum was used, needed a clean but again perfect working order.
Was concerned once I read reviews but from my experience john pye items were outstanding and amazing value for money, so much better than I expected.
Feel like it maybe pot luck and I can say i had awonderful run, would absolutely recommend 😀
Absolutely disgusting
Absolutely disgusting! Do not use! I bought an air fryer which was not described as being used, faulty or second-hand. There were several photos, taken from a distance and none of them showed that it was a used item. It arrived covered in grease and had clearly been used for cooking. So this item has obviously been returned due to a defect. It should have been thrown away or repaired for resale, not sold on in its current condition. I am absolutely shocked that this is allowed to happen.
Avoid john pay
Please do not use this site.you buy stuff, then they send you diff stuff that don't work.they also switch orders, upload new pics after initially selling a diff item to you Customer service is a joke, really rude.7 items out 9 the stuff you buy doesn't even work, all of the items you buy from them are scrap.avoid at all costs🤬
I received the VAX vacuum brush I won…
I received the VAX vacuum brush I won at auction, and I’m extremely disappointed.
The item was not described as used, but it clearly is — the dust container was full of dirt, showing obvious signs of use.
It is also damaged, with a broken part that cannot be replaced.
The listing only showed the box and a top view of the vacuum, which gave the impression that the item was new or unused.
This feels misleading and dishonest.
I would not recommend buying from this auction again.
Don’t go anywhere near this company…
Don’t go anywhere near this company everything I’ve brought is broken or don’t work. No refund option was told I should have come and looked at the items at the auction place before buying. I live over 200miles away from them. Never using this company again cant believe they get away with selling faulty or bits missing and not letting you know on the description. Shocking company 😡😡😡
I Would give 0 Stars if I could
I Would give 0 Stars if I could. Bought a Sealey Torque wrench worth around £200-250. Put bids in at the end I got it for £86 it arrived 4 days later. Guess what, empty box could not believe it Phoned them up was told NO REFUND should of come to auction and checked. I live 200 miles from Auction house so there was no chance of looking Who would sell empty boxes.
6 weeks on still no refund They cant be bothered to answer me in emails Had to phone my bank they can sort it on my behalf.
Will never in my lifetime buy from these con artist again I hope they go under for ripping people off Shame on them 0/10
Your Buying From John Pye - Not John Lewis
Problem, if something costs £80 new from Amazon or Argos, other stores are available, there are dull people who will put a maximum bid of eg £120 to ensure they win the item, expecting that John Pye will bid on their behalf up to the maximum bid. Think again, You will pay the £120 + 25% buyers fee + their new low postage of £7.99, think I am finished, no, on top of that you will pay 20% VAT on the total. If you put in a low maximum bid maybe £18 - £20 the chances are you will get the item for less than your maximum bid because it is not worth the paperwork to them. Anything above that and expect what I said above. Another thing, just because an item is shown in its box with packing etc, does not mean it is new, complete, or working. It could be an online return maybe a vacuum cleaner, that was returned because it was not working, or was sent back without the battery, so factor this into your bid, you may have to buy a new battery £50 - £70. Is all this John Pye,s fault. No, Its all fully stated (except the max bid practice) in their terms and conditions, so its your fault for not reading them, or looking carefully at the photos, or using common sense. There are so many greedy people around who put in ridiculous bids because they must have the item at any cost, and they get stung, and quite frankly, they deserve it. I myself have had some bad buys from them. Am I crying about it, no, because I have also had a lot of very good buys from them. My advice, try using your eyes and brain before you bid and you probably wont have to use your pen to complain.
You would assume that the product you…
You would assume that the product you buy from JP would actually work! No it doesn’t.,. Even if I had seen it before bidding it wouldn’t help as looks in good condition but unfortunately for JP the motor has burnt out (ninja 3n1 hand blender) useless item! Thanks JP Won’t be be back I’m afraid.
Recently purchased a vax vacum cleaner…
Recently purchased a vax vacum cleaner and a vax carpet cleaner. The vacum cleaner arrived with a button missing and no battery, therefore I cannot use it and the cleaner started smoking after about 2 minutes of use and would have set on fire. Emailed John pye, got standard reply- they don’t care, can’t return or refund. It said nothing in the listing about them being faulty or possibly faulty therefore I assumed I was paying for working items. Over £100 spent on junk- don’t bother bidding, they don’t deserve customers.could have caused serious damage to my home.
I bought a vacuum sealing machine
I bought a vacuum sealing machine, when it arrived it didn't work. Some items missing. No refund if you don't go to auction location and check appliance in working order. Will not use again
Don't bother
Don't bother! Throwing money away. Items received damaged and useless. They lost the items with photos that suggest the item is not damaged then don't offer any support or refund. Don't throw your money away.
JPA "Bids on own Lots"
John Pye Autions "Bids on own Lots" to prevent you winning goods at bargain fees.
Example:
10 items for sale exactly same, they will make bids on last day to prevent sale below RRP -10%. Then after winning their own bids they will move all items from one LOCATION to another using same photo and re-list for another sale. And exactly same thing happens again until they get the price they want.
So when you see exactly the same picture re-advertising at another location. You know that it is impossible to buy that item from them unless you pay more than it is worth.
1. Check what price item is worth.
2. Don't use delivery service, Cheaper to collect yourshelf.
3.The Lot price plus delivery charges, maybe cheaper to buy New with Insurance Guarantee from somewhere you can get your money back or replacement if it does not work.
4. All the items listed on these JPA sites are damaged in some way, parts missing, can't buy matching items, include items you dont want in lots.
Missing battery
Purchased a cordless hoover that I received today- clearly been used and several parts missing including the battery so it’s unusable -pointless purchase
