I drove 3.5 hours to the storefront to buy a lever action rifle that was "in stock" for a competition that I wanted to shoot in the following weekend. They had one for display and more in the back but they would not let me buy one because these were "allocated" to customers who purchased online. Seriously! Why are they listed as "in stock?"

I decided to put my name in the hat and be an online purchaser and 3 months passed after they charged my card. I called in to see when they would have them in stock and the customer service gal said "Oh...your rifle is in shipping, do you want to leave it there?" I agreed and two weeks later still no rifle.

Called in today and asked for a status update. Agent says "Oh, It's in shipping." I told her that is what they said two weeks ago. She then told me that once they get another one and then they get to my name in the queue, then it will ship. Really?!?

These guys are bad at business.

I recently made a purchase at Kentucky Gun co. I bought two guns that day . The gun counter people were extremely nice. Very patient with me , I didn’t know what I needed for these guns, they gave me all the information I needed plus all of the people I encountered were very nice ! Thank you.

HOW TO LOSE A FORMER 20 YEAR CUSTOMER
1) Employ a smart-mouth brat female store manager who intentionally picked a fight with me over my temporary cataract problem. She is a former healthcare worker rejected for her rude manner. She offered to buy Save-A-Buck at one time, but thankfully the good owner did not sell to the brat. KYGUNCO lost in excess of $1500+ from me just in the month of July 2024. Save-A-Buck thanks you for the business ! Way to disrespect and tick off the boomer generation with our retirement checks, fat 401K, and loads of disposable income not to be spent at KYGUNCO.

2) Have a malfunctioning digital ATF background check device and unable to have the screen brightness or contrast adjusted so as to aid a senior citizen with a temporary catacract disability. Also, no paper method either.

3) Have so-called "expert" counter help that does not even know the basic difference between 22MAG and 17HMR casings.

4) Have common items constantly out of stock. For example, a basic 22 cal Pro-Shot spear jag not on the shelf for over 2 months. Ok, time to go get it from EBAY with no problem.

5) Have ammo on the very top shelf where the customer and employees cannot even find it. Basic 22WMR CCI was found covered in dust on the very top shelf. Great business practice there Patrick H.! DUH!

6) Prices? Give me a break. Bought a CZ 457 for $100 less out-the-door from Family Firearms of Alabama. KYGUNCO is frequently $50 or so more than the competition on firearms.

7) Actual store inventory out-of-sync with website. Waste more of the customer's time.

8) Like to build your own? Forget KYGUNCO and forget getting spare or replacement parts for your AR platform, those vanished when the gunsmith left, so no spare springs, detents etc. for the builder.

9) I personally witnessed snide and discriminatory treatment of a black African American customer and was surprised at that customer's level of tolerance for her abuse, so it does not surprise me that a Hispanic customer experienced the same thing as stated in the negative reviews of KYGUNCO on the Bardstown Better Business Bureau (BBB) website.

10) It's NOT Keene's Depot anymore, that is certain. Instead, KYGUNCO is a wanna-be Walmart superstore pretending to please people and deluding itself into succeeding with their horrible customer service and their smart-mouth racist manager. She is emblematic of a generation of X-Y-Z brats who will receive their comeuppance in due time. The store owner has chosen a sad direction, a downward spiral by keeping her kind in his organization. I doubt that the former Bardstown Police Chief and Keene's Depot gunsmith would have tolerated much lip from the current store manager. Never again!

11) Not all is rotten at KYGUNCO. At least they have a nice selection of decent soda pops at the checkout lane in real glass bottles! Shocking! Wow! Way to go owner! (See ya!... after my cataract surgery!)

AVOID KYGUNCO LIKE THE PLAGUE. I didn't buy or deal with this company. I am commenting on all the negative reviews. I wouldn't buy a thing from KYGUNCO. The reviews on Trust Pilot are awful. People are saying they send damaged items and blame the manufacturer. One customer stated KYGUNCO is sending used worn-out guns as new.

Seen guns from Desert Storm in better shape. I rarely walk out of a gun store empty handed but this one did. Way too expensive!

Disappointed in deceptive marketing. Gun advertised as a *blem" was actually a reconditioned gun. Sure, I could have returned it but that's not the point. That confident feeling of trust and integrity are gone.

I've bought several firearms from Kygunco, two in the last few months. The prices are great and shipping is fast. One was a discounted "blemish," and I couldn't find a thing wrong with it. There are a lot of choices out there, but when Kygunco has what I want, that's where I'll likely buy it.

I made three online attempts at buying a gun (Sig P238) at kentucky-gunshop website. A subsequent email explained that the first two purchase attempts failed because , "Unfortunately your credit card was deleted automatically because our system has been attacked. All customers now pay via Zelle to ensure a successful transaction and on time delivery." On my third attempt I Zelled them the amount of the purchase ($543.25) for the purchase of a new P238 Legion .380 ACP but have not heard back from them. They don’t provide a customer service line and just ignore the emails if they haven’t scammed you out of the money yet. Their website looks completely legitimate but their method to receive payments, specifically, their Zelle practices are suspect. First, it's not an automated process and requires the purchaser to go to their personal bank and add the seller as a contact in order to be able to send payments. Second, the seller has demanded that I send payments to sources that do not bear the name of the institution or business. I have received two separate demands for payments from two different sources for the same item. Clearly, this is a scam that I should have picked up on but they have victimized me out of the money. As I researched this business, I learned that they have been doing this for awhile.

This was the first time ordering from this company. Got the firearm, and the sight was damaged. Contacted KYGUNCO and the manager named Madison B. basically said I had to contact manufacturer. She then asked for pictures and then I dont hear nothing for days, and still have not. Very disappointed that they dont inspect merchandise before sending to customer, and I did not even get an apology. When I called in person, somebody did apologize and said someone would be contacting me. NOPE still nothing!!! First and Last time dealing with this company, Thank You KYGUNCO for the messed up firearm that I paid you for, and for the crappy service as well.

Great experiences with this company. I've ordered ammo and two guns from this company, and another one on layaway. They are very friendly and easy to deal with. The shipments have all been received in a timely manner to the Firearm dealer of my choice. They also have great prices, and have more items in stock than other companies.

Ordered on 1/7/22 to be sent to Nv. KYGUNCO said order was sent FedEx 2day service. Sent on the 1/11/22.Called KYGUNCO and they told me FedEx miss loaded my order. They probably never sent me anything.

I ordered a new Walther PDP and they sent me one of their heavily used range gun instead of a new gun. There was even a price tag from Oxford Pawn shop for $619.95 on the speed loader packed inside the Walther box. It is not even the correct speed loader. It is marked for a P99 model. They ignored my email with attached pictures of the wear and tear of the pistol they shipped me. When I called them they refused to refund my money and instead they blamed Walther and said a rep from Walther will call me. Still waiting on the call.
Will not ever order anything from these scammers ever again.

One of my worst experiences of online purchase. Ordered a S&W revolver. Cashed my check; processed FFL with my local dealer, and indicated ready to ship. All of a sudden, they said that they never had this in stock due to a clerical error. A total waste of time.

I purchased a Taurus 22 from Kygunco.com and it was supposed to be new but it was not new and it was rusted out and the chamber was black and dirty on the inside... I've been getting the run around about my $212.61 please don't give business to them don't deserve it!!! They sent me an e-mail on the 22nd of the Month and it's the 29th and still no money back YET...

KY Gun Co often has the best price on items I'm interested in. For the purchases I've made through them, they have always shipped promptly, communicated well with me and my FFL, and delivered exactly as advertised.

I will keep them on my short list for purchasing new or used weapons.

Great customer service! Nice people to deal with. Had a question about a lower, they were very helpful.
