Wanted to share the experience I had tonight at the Lidl‘s in Indian land in South Carolina. Extremely disappointing customer service. I arrived at 8:54 this evening, the doors were locked and employees looked at me like I was an alien. As a loyal customer, I will no longer shop at this location and they’ve lost a good one. I just wanted to go in and buy a bouquet of flowers for my beautiful wife and leave would’ve been out before 9 PM. Lock the doors before 9 PM, and they’re non-reaction, and closing the doors early is totally unexcused.

Like the international products and prices. The Bakery with fresh Bread and bakery items is great and not
available at other grocery store lines .
I find what I am looking for and know where everything is.
Checking out is convenient .. you can use the self checkout or get in line to the manned checkout line.

While waiting for our turn to get checked out your cashier bluntly told my wife and I “are you paying cash? because I don’t take cash here”. There’s a polite way of saying that instead of assuming we are paying cash. We told her we have a credit card. I asked her why she assumed we are paying cash? She said she just wants to ask the cusromers. After checking our groceries out, she never said thank you. She was polite to the man behind us because they were both Black, is that it? I’m Asian with a Spanish name, anyone in your store need a little history to know what xountry I came from?
You need to TEACH your employees just TO BE POLITE and KIND. It goes a long way.

I like the affordable fresh bakery…

I like the affordable fresh bakery items. The other products are reasonably priced depending on what you’re looking for. Just happens that the staff at self checkout wasn’t really pleasant. The few times I’ve been the staff was polite.

The prices are low!

The prices are low! The store is clean and has wide isles to shop in. It doesn't have a huge variety of products but the ones they have are good.

Not enough people work in cashier

Not enough people work in cashier. You need to check your receipts before you leave, they always don’t give you the sales price most of the time. Every time I checked out there’s always one in correct price rang up.
They put item on flyers and not available in the store. False advertising.

5 stars for the Lidl store in Burke, Virginia

I shop at the Burke Lidl every sunday. The prices are better than other grocery stores such as Giant and Safeway. I have purchased lots of produce, steaks, salmon, salads etc and I have never had a bad experience. In fact, may I complement the staff? The manager, Edwin, and his staff are always friendly and help me find what I am looking for. The stockers and the cashiers also greet me with a helpful smile. My wife sometimes comes with me as she enjoys looking through the dry goods isles. We will continue to shop at the Burke Lidl!

If they advertise an item on sale make…

If they advertise an item on sale make sure you get there the 1st day of the sale-Wednesday. Because if you go Thursday it will be sold out and they will have a similar item in its place, not on sale. Or it never came in. Not a one time occurrence either. This happens all the time. I think I'm done with this store. And they don't issue rain checks.

I’ve never had a problem with lidl…

I’ve never had a problem with lidl until today! And it’s incredible how because of one employee it can ruin the way you see the company. This cashier was so rude threw peoples stuff, had absolutely no good customer service. The customers before me didn’t know how much of a certain item they had, she got upset she had to count. Which is something that needs to be done by her regardless. another customer came back because the advertised price for one item wasn’t honored. So she returned the item. But instead of asking the customer if she needed help she said “maam you’re pacing what’s the problem” in a very rude and aggressive tone. When it was my turn she asked me to put my number in I let her know I did not have one. She asked me again , I left her know that I had told her already that I did not have one. She looked up at said “and and and” as if she’s trying to intimidate customers. Which is something you don’t do. She began speaking about how lidl wants to give customers discounts. I let her know I was not interested, she then said she was not speaking to me she was letting the customers behind me know. I don’t think I’ve ever had such a horrible experience like I had today. This all occurred at the Lidl in Glenmont MD. I just think that if you don’t like being around you others you should not be working in customer service.

Formal Complaint – Misleading Advertising and Employee Misrepresentation

Dear Lidl Corporate Customer Service Team,

I am writing as a loyal Lidl customer who has been doing all of my grocery shopping at your Montgomery Village, MD location for over two years. I am extremely disappointed by a recent experience that raises serious concerns about misleading advertising and employee misrepresentation.

On October 1, 2025, cast iron sets were clearly advertised at $14.99 on a well-organized and clearly labeled shelf. At checkout, the cashier refused to honor the posted price, attempting to charge over $40 per set—almost three times the advertised amount—claiming the items were “misplaced by another customer.” Several shoppers experienced the same issue, all standing in line one after the other with identical items.

When I requested a manager, two consecutive employees pretended to be managers. Only after pressing the cashier for their names was it admitted that they were not managers. The real manager was contacted only after a very significant delay.

This incident appears to violate:
• Federal law: FTC Act (15 U.S.C. §§ 41–58), prohibiting deceptive advertising.
• Maryland law: Maryland Consumer Protection Act (§ 13-301), prohibiting false or misleading representations and unfair trade practices.

I urge Lidl to investigate this incident, retrain all employees, and take appropriate corrective action. I also request a formal response detailing how Lidl plans to prevent such incidents in the future.

A Cshier at the Elmwood park N.J

A Cshier at the Elmwood park N.J. store discriminated against my disabled son. She was disrespectful, disgraceful and no one should experience such a person at cashier #6 and african American short woman with a bonded fade. People like that are abusive and a horrible experience specially to a disabled young innocent man . I wouldn't shop there if they were the only supermarket in N.J.

I'm disappointed when l first started…

I'm disappointed when l first started going to LidI it's was fun and the store was clean and the food was fresh, now not so much the bathrooms remind me of Walmarts and I've stopped buying the bottle water, when l mentioned it at check out, the person checking out said ( that's why l don't but bottle water)? Oh well FOOD LION gets my money again on several items from now on and I save more with my MVP card anyway

I want in on Labor Day to Brooklyn gateway location,lines were short!
I started walking towards one line female cashier disappeared! Started towards the nxt line cashier sitting down low to the ground!he finally gets up with an attitude! I asked for a price check! He picks up the items checks plops it down then repeats it again with nxt item. The part when your phone number comes up didn’t come up. I informed him he sucked his teeth! I said since i walked over you’ve been nothing but rude! He then yells I can’t be tired!!! I proceeded to walk out! I didn’t purchase anything! Clock out if you don’t feel like working! And mind you the other cashier magically appeared when a white male couple came around! That’s y I advocate for self checkout!! You don’t have to deal with the idiots on cash registers

Lidl vs Aldi…

Today I visited Aldi's (Rosewell RD- Atl,US) and Lidl (Jonesboro RD, Atl, US). By Comparison Lidl is far superior to Aldi is was messy. Lidl was clean and neat, it felt good to shop there. Aldi's produce was messy and unapppealing!!!! That store needs help!!!

Lidl Brighton Discount not honoured

Lidl Brighton, Jam filled doughnuts were shown priced at 49each or 3 for £1, so I bagged and checked out 3 of them, as usual, checkouts were busy with queue staring, there's no time to check the receipt, when I got home, realised I was charged £1.47 for the 3 Jam filled doughnuts, not the £1 as priced.
It's a long trek back to claim back my 47p.
I wonder if such tactics are on purpose, as it's a gain of nearly 50% to Lidl, quite a hugh margin.
