A total scam. Unsolicited phone call claiming to be associated with post code lottery. I suspected scam from start and like to keep these sort of people talking wasting their time. Gave my bank account and sort code ready to put phone down when asked for security details but they did not ask. Did not believe that they could access my account from this information which is readily available on a cheque. They set up a direct debit unknown to me and took money from my account. Fortunately the banks Direct Debit guarantee ensured easy recovery of money as they have to have your agreement to set up a direct debit which they certainly did not have. Just hope the bank took the money back out of their account. Also as far as I can ascertain they are not a registered company with companies house.

Total Scam. They managed to authorise a direct debit without my permission. How the banks have allowed this is incredulous.

My elderly aunt has been scammed by this company. Luckily the bank are now eventually going to refund the direct debit of nearly £300 same story as previous reviews where a £1 was debited 1st. This needs investigating by police/action fraud to prevent other victims.

Thief’s. I do not know how they got my mums bank account information but they removed £399

Lifestyleperks have managed to set up a new DD on my elderly mothers banks account. She has no knowledge of this. As well as the weak procedures by her bank, how can any reputable organisation do this. They have taken hundreds of pounds from her account, which will be refunded by the bank. What a nasty thing to do!

Just noticed a direct debit on my acct for £399.95. on phone to bank now to cancel. Also they debited a 1 pound on 24th December. This is a scam. Chech your acct weekly. 🤬

The same thing has happened to me, i noticed it straight away and phoned my bank and cancelled the dd and they put the money back into my account, i got a telephone number for 'lifestyleperks' and the man on the phone tried telling me how they wont be able to give a full refund because apparently someone at home authorised it which i dont believe at all no one picks up the landline unless its a familiar number. its scary how people can just get access to my money. be careful guys!

The sum of £ 1 was taken from my Lloyds bank account on the 24th December, then another direct debit was taken from my joint account today 4th January 2022 for £399
I did not authorise these payments to that company.

at first £1 was taken out, then £2.50, £399 and £786. in total £1800 was taken out of my account. did not ask to sign up!!!!!!! they are scammers and i am very careful online and with shopping so not sure how this has happened

As with others here I have today had a DD from Lifestyle Perks for £399.95. They took a DD for £1 on the 22nd Dec and then hit me for 400 today. Fortunately my Banking app shows all transactions on my phone and I spotted the 399.95. Spent ages trying to think what I had spent this on. Contacted my Bank and they refunded the money and cancelled the DD. I'll ring Lifestyle Perks tomorrow and see what they say. Should be an interesting conversation. Their Registered Office is only a few miles from where I live, don't think they will be amused at a 6'2" irate customer beating their door down hahahaha. These people need sorting out!!!!

It seems my story is exactly the same as many others here - a £1 dd from my account (haven't a clue how they got my numbers) followed by a letter congratulating me on qualifying for a free 12 month dining card, then a £399 dd 2 weeks later, none of which were knowingly authorised by me. Thankfully my bank has cancelled the dd and refunded me but beware any mystery direct debits that appear in your account and don't agree to anything on the phone with ANY cold-callers

I have just looked at my mums account and this morning £399.95 have been taken by lifestyle perks from her account. This an absolute joke they can get away with this, she has been in hospital for 9 weeks so I know she didn’t give her details out. I am going to ring the bank and try and get it back.

Respuesta de Lifestyle Perks
Similar to the previous posts; elderly family member for whom I have POA registered has just had £1 taken by DD, no doubt ahead of a larger sum. Fortunately I've managed to cancel the DD and hopefully it will prevent anything further. Why cant the banks do more to stop unauthorised DD's and enable you to stop the set up of a DD's on an account in the first place?

SCAMMERS
Piecing together what happened to my in-laws, they had a phoney phonecall from "Marks and Spencer" and then a Lifestyle Perks pack in the post. All unsolicited. Then a direct debit for £399.95.
Luckily the bank are refunding the amount but this has caused a huge amout of stress.
EDIT
Don't you just love the fact that after 40 1* reviews, with everyone calling the company Scammers and wanting to rank as zero, that TrustPilot still gives them a 1.4 star rating???

Complete scam, ignored the letter as I knew I did not arrange or purchase this service. Was debited £399.95 and whilst the bank have returned the money they may come back looking for it again. Somehow they have my sort code and bank account. Total low life gutter scum, as soon as you receive the unsolicited letter inform your bank and cancel any related direct debits.

I’ve POA for my 89 yr old Mum and today noticed a direct debit for £299.95 for SM Lifestyle Perks in her account. It was completely unsolicited. Spoke to the bank and raised a Direct Debit Indemnity Case. The money will be back in my Mum’s account on the next working day. The morals and ethics of Lifestyle Perks are in the gutter. Their silence speaks volumes.
