Absolutely appalling company
Absolutely appalling company. Advertising pot grown plants but I received dead, dying and non existent (lumps of compost), bare root plants. Some were stinking, slimy and rotten, others broken or mouldy and mushy. Despite numerous emails they only refunded for two plants. After advice from the consumer protection agency I asked for them to arrange collection of the plants, which they are refusing to do. Avoid this company at all costs.
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY
Ordered a large quantity of perennials in Sept 25, due del early March 26. Supposedly 1ltr and 3ltr pot grown plants, pots removed for despatch. After many emails, calls and delays it arrived late April. Box was full of rubbish, half order missing (due to quality control) rest was small bags of compost with no signs of life, dry and very mouldy root nodules. Certainly not 1 or 3ltr plants. One bag just had compost in, no plants at all. I rang and emailed with photos. Received email back stating photos showed good root growth (certainly didnt) and they were all bare root - litre size referred to growth size expected after first year! Absolute rubbish. Offered full refund once I had sent everything back and they had looked at it - No way, as they were obviously going to say it was all fine and refuse at that point - SCAMMERS. Have binned rubbish and will be taking it further.
The absolute worst experience
The absolute worst experience of ordering anything I have ever had. Plants arrived late and dead, with no form of communication throughout the entire process apart from an attempt to replace the dead plants by sending them to the wrong address entirely. Over 10 calls not responded to.
Worst service ever
Easily my worst experience ever buying plants online. I ordered three dahlia tubers in December 2025 and by the end of April 2026, they still hadn’t arrived, although Lincsplants claimed in their advertising that they would arrive in March.
I have written to them several times asking when my dahlias will arrive as I was very keen to plant them, but never received a satisfactory answer. Other tubers from Ashridge and Farmer Grace, are now up to 60 cm tall, having been planted much earlier in the year.
One mail from Lincsplants. about three weeks ago had ‘your order has been shipped’ in the subject line, which was clearly untrue because there’s been no sign of it.
To add insult to injury, yesterday I received a mail from them saying that they had refunded the cost of two of the dahlias, so they are obviously not going to arrive. It remains to be seen if I will receive the other one but I’m not hopeful. I will obviously never buy from this company again.
Awful
I ordered several plants advertised as 1L, 3L and 5L sizes. What arrived was nothing like what was described. Many were dead on arrival, and the rest were tiny bare‑root fragments, including multiple “3L” plants small enough to hold between finger and thumb. The sizes advertised were misleading and did not reflect the items supplied.
Despite providing clear photos, the company refused to refund unless I returned the dead plants, even though perished goods cannot be meaningfully returned and the Consumer Rights Act does not require consumers to store or preserve dead biological material.
I have reported the matter to Trading Standards due to the pattern of similar complaints from other customers. I have also reported the company’s use of RHS Chelsea Gold Medal branding cto the RHS, given the quality of the plants being sent out. If the company does not issue the refund I am legally entitled to, I will be taking the matter to the small claims court.
I have also had a terrible experience
I have also had a terrible experience with this Company.
Plants ordered and paid for in January to be delivered end of March. Dreadful customer service and no plants delivered (very long story cut short).
I have emailed The Royal Horticultural Society, explaining how appalling this business is because the RHS branding is splashed all over Lincolnshire Plants advertising.
The RHS will remove their affiliation to Lincs Plants if they receive more complaints.
So if you have a minute please go onto the RHS website and let them know about your dreadful experiences.
It just might make this Company realise that victims of their sharp practice can fight back.
Very disappointed
Very disappointed, ordered 1 litre plants and have received moldy bare root. They were advertised as 9 cm, 1 litre, 2 litre - no mention of bare root. I have tried to contact them and no response. When the box arrived it looked dodgy. I spent a lot of money and £18 delivery charge for a small box.
Poor company
Have not supplied some of the plants. Refunded some they could not deliver. The ones that were delivered were fragments of plants and barely alive. I had to chase them, no information or communication. Very poor service.
Terrible quality
Terrible quality.
Ordered 4 lots of plants and they arrived late, but once they did arrive only 1 plant was salvageable and the rest needed to be binned because they were either dead or didn’t have any roots.
Never again.
Orders 3 plants and one arrived damaged…
Orders 3 plants and one arrived damaged orinally 4 shoots 3 had broken off.
Took photos and was told the plant is healthy and it will grow i asked to speak to mgr who refused to send replacement.
I had email to say damage was only cosmetic.
Don't waste your time with Lincs plants find a pond shop locally and talk to them.
I did afterwards and bought better plants cheaper.
I wish I had read reviews before
Very poor
Very poor, ordered plants in winter 2025 to be delivered in March 2026 and still waiting in Late April 2026, telephone not connecting, had a shipment email on the 11th April 2026, still no delivery, 24th April, just sent another email.
Awful
Order placed at the beginning of the year for a number of perennials in various sizes (9cm / 1l / 3l) with delivery in March 2026 (or so it said on the website and on the order confirmation). I finally received notification that my order had been shipped at the beginning of April and then heard nothing - a week later tracking suggested that RM were still awaiting handover of the plants. Two weeks later and they finally arrived in a very small parcel. Disappointingly upon opening I found that they were all small bare roots rather than the potted plants I believed I had ordered - some mouldy, one slimy, one missing altogether and all of them in plastic bags with barely any soil in unlike the plants you get form other sellers, and definitely not the equivalent of the plant fitting the pot sizes I had ordered. In addition there were no instructions in the package for how to plant bare roots for those not in the know – after looking online I found out it’s also really late in the season to be planting these out. Using their online chat has been painful too. Just an awful experience.
Horrible service. Plants never arrived. Order cancelled after 5 month wait.
I was invited to place an order in Septemeber 2025 for dispatch in early spring 2026. Early spring came but no plants were dispatch. Emails to the company were answered with various excuses: Too busy, too many orderes coming in, only one person packing the orders. Then got an email the order was shipped on the 10 March,26. After wating for several days contacted the company and they said they actually didn't send the plants. This exact scenario was repeated again on the 9 April. Not at any point they mentioned any problems with the plants they grow. Today I was told my order has been cancelled due to plants too small. Steer clear of this company.
The website promised delivery in 1 to 3…
The website promised delivery in 1 to 3 days but I didn’t get the parcel till 10 days later. I only got replies from my queries after I raised a dispute through PayPal. Now ignoring my emails for partial compensation. Very disappointing and I regret spending nearly £200 with them.
Avoid this Company
I order a 'potted' Waterlily from this company at a cost of £39, what arrived was a plastic bag containing an empty plastic pot, soil, and a very small tuber which was snapped in half and with all its tiny leaves broken off.
I immediately emailed Lincs Plants with a photo of the broken tuber showing the unacceptable state it had arrived in. I expected a rapid reply but a week, and futher emails later, I have had absolutely no response.
They clearly have no Customer Service or scruples and I suggest people should avoid buying plants from this company,
Should have read the reviews first.
Should have read the reviews first.
I ordered spring plants at the beginning of the year to be delivered in march ( now mid April) I have emailed twice to ask politely when I can expect delivery with no response.
Scammers!
I ordered a plant bundle, that was ment to be a varied mixture of loose, bunched and potted plants.
I received, about 4 different types of loose plants - most of witch were dead on arrival.
I have been emailing and calling but getting no response, I'll be calling the bank tomorrow to get my money back from them.
Disgusted
It's a shame I have to give this business even one star.
I placed an order worth over £100. It arrived in a small box containing a range of underwhelming specimens. Checked contents: one missing (unclear labelling so very confused) and one plant (geum) was close to dead on arrival. I phoned. No response. I emailed with photos, asking for action (I assumed a refund would be issued). No response for days. Finally a reply from Sophie explaining the plant that wasn't sent hadn't been up to their usual standard (I received a refund a week later) and she wanted a current photo of the geum to see if they could help with its condition (suggesting the state of the plant was my responsibility!). I stated that the geum should not have been sent for the same reason as the other plant and requested a refund as well as contact from a manager. After another lengthy delay, I was told the plant was 'viable' in the photo I'd originally sent. I wrote another email saying their customer service was appalling and that I would leave an honest review and they could rest assured I'd never use them again. I then received an apologetic email from a different person - Danielle - and honestly thought she would help me. I responded positively on 4 April but it is now 13 April and still no further contact from them!
I cannot believe this company are endorsed by the RHS!
Don't waste your money.
Scam Or Mistake
Like many other negative reviews, I pre ordered 3l potted perennials in February. Today, 9th April they arrived and were tiny, bare root plants. I did manage to contact them and they agreed for their return and commented that they had a lot of complaints, but what a waste of time. They have had our, and obviously a lot more peoples money sitting in their account for a few months. Scam or genuine mistake???
Plants arrived eventually
Plants arrived eventually. Had to chase. Not as described. The website needs to be clearer! They are bare root. They are NOT supplied in 5/3/1 litre pots as it implies. It has 1/3/5 litre label on the plastic bag they are in
Won’t be back
