From Apprehension to Advocacy: Our Experience with Korniche Lanterns and Made for Trade

As a fabrication-focused business, we rarely source manufactured products from outside suppliers. We pride ourselves on our craft, and honestly, bringing in external products means ceding a bit of control, especially when it comes to customer service and support. In an age where the personal touch often gets lost in larger corporations, our apprehension about relying on others has only grown.

So, when we were introduced to the Korniche Roof Lanterns and Flat Glass Rooflights, we were naturally cautious. But credit where it's due: the team at Made for Trade, and particularly Mike Robinson, have completely changed our perspective.

From the outset, their process was seamless. And when we encountered our very first hiccup – which is always the true test – their response was faultless. It genuinely proved that the "leap of faith" we took was entirely justified.

I would like to thank Lucy for sorting out my problem with the door handle I needed to replace. The response time was very quickly and replacement was on its way in no time. Thank you ones again for excellent customer service I will highly recommend it to every one.

I would like to thank Lucy for all her hard work in getting us some faulty glass panels replaced. The supplier that MFT purchased them from refused to replace them even though they were still under guarantee, Lucy went to her bosses with the problem & they offered to replace them at their cost free of charge for us. She had then contacted the company that fitted the doors for us and asked them if they would fit them free of charge as a good will gesture & they agreed. Thanks so much to Lucy & MFT

korniche Lantern Window Glass broken I contacted customer services at Made for trade called Sarah. First contact was via email, I received a reply within the hour. The response was very informative and positive. It was agreed they would send some fittings free of charge sent via first class post. On renewing the glass I found that some fittings were starting to corrode, but were fully functional. Once again I contacted customer services again they couldn’t have been more helpful. I believed I received a first class after sales service

Very good product, price and service. The doors we ordered were good quality with efficient delivery and communication. We had a problem with one of the door handles that the company rectified quickly and without any hassle.

Never had a bad service with them, any minor issues dealt with in 24 hours and parts sent within 3 days. Replacements easy to get hold of. Happy with the Korniche range of lanterns, flat roof lights and bifold doors. No reason to go elsewhere.

I purchased a bifold door from made for trade and due to some issues in installation, I could not get it to open and close as smoothly as I would have liked.

After speaking to the customer care team, they reassured me that it was likely just some minor issues with the installation. They then offered to send out two fitters to review the issues, and if possible, fix the door.

When Owen and Ritchie arrived, I was immediately impressed with the extent of their knowledge and experience. In less than 5 minutes they had investigated and diagnosed all of the issues and proceeded to carry out the required work.

I can honestly say I have never experienced a more competent workforce. The care and attention shown by these guys in going above and beyond, genuinely raised the bar for professionalism.

Not only did they fix the issues that were originally discussed, they also went out of their way to check and adjust every aspect of the door and the installation to ensure it functioned perfectly. They even fitted the magnets and vents that had been left by the installer. I can happily say I am confident I will have no further issues for the rest of the 10 year warranty.

If anyone at Made for Trade is reading this, double Owen and Ritchie's pay, they are a genuine asset to the business.

We purchased a 3 panel Bi-Fold door beginning of year that were not installed correctly by our builder and had issues because of this. On speaking with MFT, they were able to support and help me find a resolution.

I spoke with a member of the MFT team called James, who went above and beyond to ensure that my issues were resolved and that I was satisfied with the product. James was friendly and helpful, but most importantly understanding what was required to help me. I was asked to share photos and videos of the issues to ensure that MFT could help me and to identify the source of problems.

Two MFT fitters were sent to my property to review and conduct investigation. Richie and Owen were both extremely professional and helpful with how they approached the task and found the best solution.

The quality of the work completed by Richie and Owen was very impressive, we now have a lovely set of functional, water tight Bi-Folds that we love on our new extension, with thanks to the whole team at MFT and particular those mentioned.

Plenty of info on delivery 👍but most of all 1st time fitting the korniche byfolds was absolutely amazed I could glaze them by hand no tools absolute pleasure used to be a work out 👍

Had bifold fitted that leaks and comes into my house .
The 2 vents have never worked and a pin on door hinge keeps dropping out.
I have contacted my builder and the window company who have no interest .
The 10 year guarantee is worthless
Have been intouch with MFT and they have no interest at all.
I hope to have some response to this as I have found them to be as useless as my cowboy builders.

Great quality doors, really look good. Had a few problems with the fitters but Made for Trade sorted it out very quickly.

Very good quality bi-fold doors. Had an issue with the way my fitter initially installed them but Richy and Owen came and fixed the problem. they were quick and got things working perfectly.
