Learning Spanish on Memrise is…

Spanish on Memrise is brilliant. I've also tried Busuu and Duolingo but I like Memrise the best, as I am learning lots. Reviews about payments are nothing to do with the actual learning, so it's 5 stars from me!

Déçue dans un premier temps suite à mon…

Déçue dans un premier temps suite à mon abonnement pour un an, car arrivée à la 7ième leçon gratuite en anglais, je me suis dit cette appli est géniale je vais continuer à perpète avec les leçons 8, 9, 10 etc. Et bien non, une fois inscrit, vous avez des versions originales en plus, des mots difficiles en plus, ... mais plus de leçons d'anglais en plus par exemple. Dommage, mais ça doit être normal vu le prix. C'est vrai que 7 leçons gratuites ! Sinon, j'ai appris beaucoup (3073 mots pour le moment à la 5 ième leçon), ce site est excellent, les cours sont très bien, je verrais après sur l'appli. Depuis quelques mois, il y a un pote IA avec qui faire des exercices de compréhension des mots appris, il corrige, répond aux questions. Ca permet de progresser. That's great !

They are thieves

They are thieves. I cancelled my subscription a year ago to find a year later they stole money from my account. I now have to freeze my account and report their transaction as fraudulent. They do not have a phone number and make it very difficult to get in touch with them.

Memrise betrays paying members regularly

Memrise has changed their interface several times for the worse, violating the terms of when a person subscribed. For example, they eliminated the Mems (user created graphics to memorize words). This was a basic fundamental feature of their app!

The management has been very incompetent at providing an interface that has features users like. Just the opposite, in fact.

In recent years their main motivation is to monetize their lousy lessons and try to sideline the user created lessons.

Totally disgusting organization.

It’s (C)over.

This was an ok if limited course of French phrases. I was minded to keep the subscription going even though I’ve finished the course but not now.

Why?

Because they’ve decided to use language lessons to push the Covid myth at a time when even the most enthusiastic street-clapper realises the whole thing was a big tech (Google demonetising media sites and Amazon removing them from servers if they don’t follow the narrative) big pharma (how many jabs do you need before you realise this is in no way anyone’s previous definition of a vaccine?) operation in control and profit.

Don’t believe me? Look at the profits big tech/pharma have made. Think you’re not brainwashed? See if you can resist parroting the responses to Covid skeptics that are simply figures given to you by these corporations via health services and Google searches (eg: “Oh but I didn’t end up in hospital or die because of the vaccine.”) Neither did 99.9% of people with Covid before any vaccine and many people turning up at hospital demanding oxygen did so because a device they bought off a pharmaceutical, probably via Amazon, told them they were suffocating.

And now we come to Memrise…

These people are actually dangling a grand in front of you (chance of winning? Infinitesimal!) if you mindlessly repeat in a foreign language all the mantras of the Church Of Covid like “I’m keeping others safe” and “Where’s the hand sanitiser?” and not forgetting the most insidious “Here’s my vaccination certificate” (In other words: “I’m not an unclean leper who needs to be forcibly removed from society.”).

Here’s a useful phrase you taught me.

App great, customer service non-existent

The app itself seems to be great. I like the way IT works.

HOWEVER, their customer support sucks.
I paid for the Valentine's Day deal (buy one, get one to share) on the 11th, four days ago. They were supposed to send a code that I could forward to my partner, so she could upgrade her account. The email never came. It's not in my spam folder, or any other folder.

I sent in a ticket through their online form. I got an auto response to tell me to check my spam/other folders. I did, again. Nothing there. Then I replied back to them, as they instructed me to do in the email. I included my partner's account name and email. Still nothing.

I even attempted to post something on their community forum. But in order to log into it, you have to confirm your email. Nothing came to my email box, in any folder. So now, I'm here, complaining.

I don't really want to cancel my subscription (not even sure that would work), because I like the app itself. There isn't a better option out there for European Portuguese. I see that they have responded here to some people. Maybe they'll actually monitor this forum. I ain't holding my breath. But if they DO RESPOND, DO NOT tell me to check my damned spam folder again.

un peu déçue

bonjour. Cette application ne permets pas d'apprendre correctement la langue. Par exemple, elle nous fait apprendre des phrases inintéressantes et même des mots vulgaires (bourrés, ...) Après plus de un mois, je suis déçue. Dommage que je suis abonnée pour un an. Je m'y attelle quand même....

I cancelled my Memrise subscription on…

I cancelled my Memrise subscription on the 28th August 2021 as per their cancellation guidelines below as I had subscribed via Google play.

''If you subscribed via Google Play, you can also follow these instructions to cancel your subscription.''

Money was taken off my PayPal account by Memrise on the 10th of October 2021. This should not have been taken as my Memrise subscription had been cancelled. My account has been inactive since August. I'm no longer subscribed to Memrise.

We have got in touch with Paypal and they say we need to get the refund from Memrise.

Please issue a full refund.

Très bonne application pour étudier les…

Très bonne application pour étudier les langues. Rien à redire en ce qui concerne la langue à apprendre. Ce n'est pas le cas de la traduction en français qui est très indigente voire vulgaire.

Memrise à débiter mon compte sans mon…

Memrise à débiter mon compte sans mon autorisation, j'ai demandé le remboursement, j'ai reçu une réponse négative de robot à deux reprises, j'ai renouvellé ma demande, toujours le même type de courrier mail en guise de réponse. Je me demande si d'autres personnes ont eu ce même problème. Pour moi c'est pratiquement du ... . C'est du ... et je vais le divulguer (dernière modification) et ce n'est pas le bon endroit pour en parler. Presque 80€ de subtilisation frauduleuse sans pouvoir rien y redire !!!! Non...Suite à votre réponse because in english, voici mon message : At in your language it's how to get sucked... and I will not stop there in my demonstration, .... !!! (suite du 24/08/2021) Au final, ils ont accepté le remboursement, suite à ce message, je les remercie d'avoir réglé le problème, et corrige le contenue de ma plainte en enlevant le mot "voleur" de mes phrases.

Amazing

Amazing, good for languages but if you go on user-generated courses you can learn pretty much anything
including Languages, Geography, History, Math, etc. not to mention that there are 100+ languages available in the languages section (user-generated) for speakers of So many languages. And the best thing is that it's FREE. But I'm having a minor problem: the geography courses I've got in the pc version are not showing in the mobile one, why?

This company will not stop charging my card. I have requested to have them stop multiple times. They do not have a phone number and only email automated responses. Buyer beware this is a fraudulent company.

It's annoying

memorise was very helpful at first then realised how strange it was

I'm learning Korean and I've gotten really far I'm at the last level which is level 8. until I realised that I was learning hangul this isn't the main issue my main problem is that they didn't tell my
like you guys could've like told me that this was the written form because I started speaking Korean and they were confused saying you're not supposed to speak hangul you're supposed to write hangul they told me that I should speak jujukkda so mesmerise my criticism is tell me the doo-doo you're teaching me and teach me more practical words like your only telling me pre-made sentences, (eg: I think your daughter is in the mafia WHEN WOULD I EVER USE THAT!!!) tell me the words in the sentence like I know how to say "how are you," but you won't tell me what the word "how" is, so can your supplementary exercises be more.... supplementary

Can't get enough of it

You know when something works when you get surprised by the sudden appearance of a bunch of people talking at you on your phone in strange languages... I'm rubbish at languages, never liked them, not good memory and too embarrassed to try, but this app got me entertained beyond the language itself. Looking at these people in the videos sparked my curiosity... what's the first thing this French guy says in the morning... Is it the same as I do? Oh sh**, another 5 min please!! hahaha and how the hell do you say that in German?? It might come across as repetitive but stick with it. that's what makes it work! Money well spent.
