Corrupt social worker Amy Kelly of Merton Children's Services found to have been dishonest.

Social Worker Amy Kelly of Merton Children's Services was found to have been dishonest by an independent investigation. She was found to have fabricated communications that did not take place. She also did not obtain informed consent before carrying out an unlawful S17 assessment (settled in legal action and admitted in complaints procedure). She also fabricated a large amount of false information on my case file. It was made up of half truths, lies, and false conjectures, but the Council said this is standard practice. Who knows how many innocent families have been destroyed based on false information fabricated by this monster.
She also made false statements in her investigation interview, in order to cover up her previous lies, and retrospectively altered records to cover her tracks.

Not happy with this parking at all

Not happy with this parking at all, I have paid for 2 hours parking and was late 20 minutes due to need of feeding my baby. I was unable to extend my parking session as there is 60 minutes no return policy and I have received £55 parking charge notice. I have challenge penalties, but was rejected and I have to pay £55. shame on you Merton Council !!!

Merton Council has taken over one year…

Merton Council has taken over one year just to assess a young person for the housing register. This is completely unacceptable.

Young and vulnerable people should not be left in limbo for this long. The lack of urgency, communication, and accountability is shocking.

Merton Council needs to seriously improve its housing services and start treating people with basic dignity and fairness.

This council are absolute scammers

This council are absolute scammers. Watch out for HARTFIELD ROAD JW GRAHAM ROAD in Wimbledon. It's a 10 meter bus lane, and although I explained in every way that it was not intentional and that it was my first offence, they did not care and I have had to pay £160 now.

Turning left after the bus lane was my intention as it's a difficult road to turn into as you always get blocked by buses, but the council did not care and said they would rather me stop all the traffic behind me and wait for the buses to all pass and then turn left into the road.

Terrible road design, awful scamming council. They have made over £850,000 apparently from that one 10 meter bus lane.

Robbers, I will never visit Wimbledon ever again.

Merton Council is worst than Plague!

I do advise to everyone who is driving a car, to avoid Borough of Merton as a plague! They stupidly charged me twice for a contravention ! I paid it straight away, then 1 month later, they increased the charge to £160! Be aware that they steal money from people, but in the same time, this council does not have a bloody email address, only robot phone service! So all in all, hopefully it will be closed and those who work there will lose their job!

My car is ULEZ compliant, but....

My car is ULEZ compliant, but Merton has now slapped a £150 surcharge on parking permits for cars which even fractionally exceed their own emissions limit. Pure money grabbing. I paid to renew my permit 15 days before expiry, yet 6 weeks on it is still " in progress". Terrific.
Update....my permit renewal is still in progress. It's now the end of September.

The Sheriff of Nottingham for a new age

If you have a pound in your boot,.spend it before these people get to it.

Last October I parked outside my gym in the disabled bay and displayed my blue badge. There was a sign that said "MAX STAY 3 HOURS". Naturally I returned to my car before the 3 hours was up only to find a parking ticket on my car. My crime was that I hadn't put my disc/clock on. The council said that there was no way to know how long I was there if I didn't put the clock on. When I pointed out they had CCTV and could find out how long I was there, they said it wasn't about that! Anyway, in short this went to tribunal and I lost my appeal so, despite the fact I was allowed to be there and was honest about the mistake I'd made, I've just paid £130 for the privilege. Absolute charlatans.

98 to 100 yr housing waiting…

98 to 100 yr housing waiting list...rated 3rd worst council across London...some say the worst they've had the misfortune to have to live in.
This borough has amazing people living in it; so many, constantly dismissed, ignored, obstructed...etc etc etc ...why does this council choose tactics more slippery and more akin to an eel rubbed down with vaseline to side step on. Beyond irrational..you can only look one way for so long...horrendous miscarriages are building up..bit by bit...and terms being used ... such as "assett poor" .." cash strapped" do not explain away the handling , attitude or approach of peoples' individual cases on a case by case basis. This lands firmly in the laps of those responsible within the council.....
The mounting costs community services, including free legal etc; shoulder when they are approached to challenge and advocate for those impacted by the council; is alot of their resources, which would not have had to be accessed had the council not been slippery in the first place.
....This should not be "the Norm"....its a sick game..
All shades of people; who do not have access to anything " put by" or who struggle in some way...don't get a voice unless community services help...the power balance for any kind of redress or even " correcting an issue" is out of reach.
As for building houses..now the councils, Brick By Brick Housing company..Merantun...has been shut down...what has it cost?... They had sold on 4 development sites....Who knows

Cheating their own residents!

Scumbags. Stopped issuing letter reminders for resident car permits which has meant 1/2 my street has ended up with a fine when their permit expires. Their justification "we are saving money and you should have a reminder in your calendar".
When you seek to cheat the very people that provide the revenue for you to remain employed, don't be surprised at the disdain and contempt that Merton residents feel towards the council and it's employees. You have demonstrated time and time again you are not "for the people" with this attitude towards your own residents.

Merton Council useless waiting since…

Merton Council useless waiting since 2017 they waste your time thats even if u get an answer. Medical support a complete waste of time so called senior setup a useless appointment in which even staff agree.
If your looking for housing dont rely on merton council . Time wasters and pen pushers claim asylum you might get further.
Was even advised by GP and members of the council medical support wouldn't do anything. The so called housing doesnt help waiting and using the total waste of time bidding system since 2017 council like merton enjoy passing the buck and blame anything they can think of at the time.
So being disabled or having a mental health issues or both is is not relevant to merton council or it doesnt help in getting housed
Council should wonder why people mental health is as bad as it is trying to seek help from people like them are a complete waste of time and resources . Passing the buck pen pushers red tape .
How long does someone wait to receive help from merton council does no near death count because more years waiting looks like it going in that direction .

Merton council are shit time wasters pen pushers unless you loaded or claim asylum your not getting anywhere

Merton Council: Deliberate Neglect and Systemic Failure of Disabled Residents

Merton Council has shown deliberate, systemic neglect and blatant disregard for its legal duties and the safety of vulnerable residents.

For over four years, Merton Council's Housing, Environmental Health, and Adult Social Care departments have collectively and knowingly refused to act upon severe Category 1 hazards at my privately rented property. These hazards include a catastrophic rat infestation affecting the entire building structure, internal plumbing, and sewage systems; dangerously contaminated water proven by Thames Water to contain high and fluctuating levels of lead; and no adequate heating, making the property legally unfit for human habitation.

Despite years of formal complaints, extensive medical evidence, multiple professional reports from pest control specialists describing this infestation as among the worst they've ever witnessed, and explicit letters from Thames Water and the Drinking Water Inspectorate instructing urgent investigation, every department within Merton Council has consistently ignored their statutory obligations under the Housing Act 2004, Environmental Protection Act 1990, Care Act 2014, and Equality Act 2010. This isn't oversight—it's active negligence.

A Category 1 hazard means an immediate threat to life or health. The council is legally obliged to immediately remove these dangers—yet they have knowingly left them unresolved for four years. The deliberate neglect by Merton Council has devastated my mental and physical health, exacerbating severe fibromyalgia, chronic pain, anxiety, and leaving me sleep-deprived due to constant noise from rats.

Ross Garrod, Leader of Merton Council, was personally informed on numerous occasions and invited repeatedly to inspect the conditions firsthand, given he is the local councillor to this address and also the leader of the council - which makes him the highest authority in his seriously systemically negligent council, as well as, his surgery office is one minute from my category 1 hazardous residence. He has deliberately chosen to ignore the severity of this crisis, failing utterly in his duty of care.

Merton Council’s systemic, deliberate failure is not unique to my case—it signals broader issues affecting countless residents throughout Merton- 5 of which are my neighbours.

Mel Higgs Senior Enforcement and Inspection Officer

I would like to express my concern about the tone of the letter, which came across as unnecessarily aggressive and threatening. I urge your team to reconsider the language used in such communications, as it could be perceived as accusatory and unconstructive, especially when addressing potentially innocent individuals.

I had an absolutely distressing experience with Mel Higgs, who did not provide any supporting evidence, such as CCTV footage, witness statements, or photographs, directly implicating me in dumping my rubbish bin in a different location. Without such evidence, the case remains circumstantial. I can confidently assure you and your team that I did not dispose of the bin bag found at the mentioned location.

As mentioned previously, I actively report fly-tipping incidents to the local authority and have been informed in the past about measures taken, such as installing CCTV cameras on top of the block and hiring a team to regularly check the area. I have provided evidence of my actions by emailing Moat with images and my findings.

I was falsely accused of a crime I did not commit. However, with her aggressive approach, Mel Higgs did not carry out any further investigation and did not provide any additional evidence I requested. I am absolutely disgusted with their warning for something I did not do, and they can't prove that I did. I wish I could take this further and take them to court, but after seeing all the reviews for Merton Council, I hope someone higher up will start an internal investigation into how work is being done.

The staff are not only rude but exhibit hostility and a blatant lack of respect towards residents.

I am writing to express my outrage regarding the atrocious customer service at Merton Council. The staff are not only rude but exhibit hostility and a blatant lack of respect towards residents. Their unprofessional conduct is shocking! it is evident that they possess no manners whatsoever.

Replace the current staff with individuals who are respectful and properly educated.

This is unacceptable.
