Generally favorable experience. Took a long time on hold to their on the road assistance line to report a dashboard warning light. Staff in Queenstown commended with their very quick changeover a water pump at short notice when we dropped in unannounced with this problem. I believe Mighty should have tighter controls about who they release hirer details to as it seems anybody of the street could claim to be issuing a fine or infringement and Mighty would happily release private contact details of their customers.

Unfortunately, our pick-up experience wasn't the best. After checking in at the counter, we waited close to an hour and a half before being shown to our camper. By that stage, everything felt quite rushed, so we didn't have much time to properly familiarise ourselves with the vehicle before leaving.

We did appreciate being given a complimentary gas bottle refill, which was a nice gesture.

One thing that confused us was the storage situation. We had decided not to hire camp chairs because of both the additional cost and the need to maximise storage space for our snowboards and other gear. However, when we opened the external storage locker, we found six camp chairs already inside, taking up a significant amount of room. We managed to squeeze some of our gear in, but it seemed odd given that when I had enquired about hiring one or two chairs, I was told they would cost $24 per chair. When I called to ask why the camper already had six chairs and whether we could leave them at a branch, I was told they came with the camper regardless. Had our handover not been so rushed, we likely would have noticed this before leaving the depot and been able to remove them.

Aside from these issues, the camper itself was well equipped and had everything else we needed. The additional bedding was also very useful.

The drop-off experience was excellent—fast, efficient, and handled by a friendly staff member who made the process easy. I'd also like to give a shout-out to the shuttle driver who picked us up from the airport on arrival. He was incredibly helpful, kind, and approachable, and made a great first impression.

Very simple to deal with the team when making bookings, always someone to answer the phone to answer all my silly little questions. I booked a 6 berth for a family of 4, even though I chose the >5years option it was still clean, functional and reliable. Perfect in winter having the diesel heater set up. Very easy drop off procedure. Even the small things like having a shelf with donated food/cleaning products that you can contribute to at the end of your trip or benefit from at the beginning makes a huge difference. Would definitely use again

The camper was not ready at pick up time.
The bed above the cab had a dirty cotton bud and tissue in it.
No plug for the sink.
The shower didn't drain after two showers. The sink was very slow draining.
It didn't break down. Good to drive. Not bad on diesel. Good bedding.

The team is very helpful and knowledgeable, they provide free shuttle service to/from the airport.
The pick up and drop off was smooth and easy.

Nice new campervan, very friendly staff at reception and at pickup from airport. Great pricing.

A well-deserved ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for Mighty Campers! Our motorhome was fully equipped with everything we needed throughout our 7 days journey. It comfortably accommodated all five of us, making every night cozy and every day convenient. Having the freedom to eat, sleep, pray, and travel at our own pace made this RV adventure one of the most memorable parts of our South Island trip.

It was a wonderful 11 days Camper-van first experience with them! I was recommended by a fellow friend that travelled to South Island New Zealand using their Camper-van. It was a blessing to be upgraded to a Maui Camper-van by the company which was 7-months old. Driving it was easy and staying in it through out the trip was also comfortable. The rental check in and out process was also smooth and they were located close to Christchurch Airport with shuttle service available from the airport. I would highly recommend anyone planning to do a road trip around New Zealand using their services!

Staff were great. We got away quickly and running late on return we’re processed fast and shuttle was held for our return to the airport. So grateful, thank you

My experience with Mighty was nothing short of exceptional. As a foreigner traveling through New Zealand, I was a little unsure of what to expect with the check-in and pick-up process, but Mighty did an excellent job providing all the necessary information ahead of time and making everything easy.
When I arrived for pick-up, I was upgraded to a Maui van free of charge, which was an incredible surprise. The walk-around and instructions during pick-up were also one of the most personable customer service experiences I’ve ever had. The staff seemed genuinely excited for my trip, which made the experience feel even more special.
The van itself performed spectacularly and gave me no issues at all. I drove around the entire South Island, and it handled everything perfectly. The layout was ideal for day-to-day travel, and everything was intuitive and easy to operate.
Drop-off was just as smooth. Their shuttle driver even made a special trip to the airport for me after I missed the departure I had intended to take, which I really appreciated.
Overall, I had a life-changing experience in New Zealand, and the Mighty team played a significant role in making me feel welcome and giving me a van that I never had to worry about during the trip. Five stars, and a huge thank you to the entire team at Mighty!

Amazing experience right from the booking stage to the drop off. Highly recommend. The vans are set up so well, are reliable and easy to drive!

We've got an upgrade to Maui River!
We ordered Mighty 4 Berth and got an upgrade on site. Very clear explanation by the staff and very quick pick up and drop off processes.

On arrival, Neave was exceptional and gave us and our friends an upgrade into a Maui van. She certainly matches her Gaelic name meaning bright or radiant

We arrived in NZ knowing we couldn’t see everything so we just headed off following the better weather The motorhome was a little cramped for a100kg male and a 65kg female
The handover was lacking in information but we worked through the issues

Handover can be better as there were a few things that I did not know how it worked, e.g. releasing the parking break if it does not release automatically.

We hired a Mighty Double Up camper van for 2 weeks to tour the South Island of NZ.
The hiring and collection of our campervan was faultless.
However, over the 2 weeks we encountered a number of issues with the van including broken equipment and even a broken door meaning it was a safety issue for us to get out. To their credit, we did get the door temporarily fixed at an RV Centre in Invercargill but all the other issues would have taken us away from our holiday to be fixed so these were left with a very minimal compensation supplied on drop off of the vehicle.
The van was clearly a lot older than the 4 year maximum noted on the website!
Would not recommend this company.

Nice camper, lovely to drive, great service at checkin, heaps of options online to ensure you get exactly what you want for the holiday.

We were a group of 4 adults and 1 teenager travelling for 10 days in 2 campervans in the South Island of NZ.
We had our own campervan and hired the other from Mighty Campers.

From the moment we drove off we encountered multiple issues with the campervan.
In all we had 11 issues, with the most critical being the house battery and how at night time when we parked up we only got 1 hour of electricilty having motored all day and plugged in the night before.
This was extremely frustrating as we had to turn the motor on to run the lights, fridge and taps the nights that we weren't plugged in.
Our own campervan enabled our visitors from overseas to have electricity for 4 nights without plugging in.
The other issues we encountered were the plug in the sink let the water leak so we had to buy a new one to do the dishes.
Latches, hinges were broken enabling doors to come open and a ladder rattling constantly. The fridge racks were broken and didn't fit our fridge which we had to return and get some new ones fitted. The shower drain had a dreadful smell and was covered with hair. The front passenger seat was not able to move backwards or forwards. The gas grill didn't work.

We have been back to Mighty and expressed our dissatisfaction.
