Right on point .professional to the…
Right on point .professional to the letter .arrived when said he would. Did a full and honest report. Didn't find fault that wasn't there but found the faults that was there .I would recommend Miller and carter to anyone having a survey done. Thanks again for all of your advice.

The surveyor was excellent
The surveyor was excellent, very thorough and he took the time to discuss the Homebuyer report with us afterwards. This really helped us get a better idea of what we were getting into as first-time buyers.

Surveyors aren’t directly employed by Miller Metcalfe, be AWARE***
This company ADVERTISES itself as a National company! It is NOT. They are based in the northeast and sub contract EVERYTHING in the UK. The surveyor that valued my property PROVIDED a report that was NOT even VALID for use for a SHARED OWNERSHIP purchase. They did not meet the requirements of the valuation and then I had to chase and wait for weeks to rectify, but still NO RESOLUTION. My advice is USE local company’s who know your AREA!

We are sorry that you have had to leave such negative feedback about both our company and the service we have provided.
For the avoidance of doubt, I would like to confirm that our Head Office is based in the North West and we operate Nationally providing extensive coverage throughout England and Wales. We employ over 35 full time Surveyors and work very closely with a few Consultants. All Surveyors are based in their home towns, work within a set radius and are covered under our PI insurance.
I do not want to disclose too much about your instruction as this is a public platform however, I would like to confirm the following:
I have checked our system and note our report was delivered to you in a timely manner. You contacted our Client Relationship Team to advise the comparable evidence provided was not suitable and therefore the report could not be used. I can confirm that the comparable evidence used was the best available. Surveyors will always aim to gather information from recent sales on similar properties in the same location in order to support their end figure. If this information is not available they often have to look at further afield or consider sales from previous months and make relative adjustments.
You advised you cannot use the report and now need to instruct another Survey. I have advised that there is no need to instruct another report with a different firm and that we will review the report.
We will continue to communicate with you via our Customer Relationship Team and I can advise we will aim to provide our responses in a timely manner.

Not really sure what I paid £800.00…
Not really sure what I paid £800.00 for! Paid for full structural survey, however any areas that may be troublesome on an old building i.e roof, report just says to get checked by a specialist, so feels like I paid all that money to be told to spend more money again, whilst the report doesn't seem to say much apart from visibly it appears in satisfactory condition. Unsure how this report is any better than the cheaper homebuyer survey. Disappointing.

We were quite concerned to read that you did not feel that the report addressed the issues that you expected it to. On investigation it was discovered that you had actually received the wrong type of survey and not the one that you originally instructed.
We immediately contacted you on discovery of this error and admitted that the error was our fault and an input system error. However following on from discussion and correspondence with yourself, where we did offer to re-inspect the property and prepare a new report, you decided that a refund of the fee paid allowing you to then instruct a new survey, would be the more acceptable resolution. This has now been processed and we wish you well with your future house purchase.

A very thorough survey completed by Robert Pearson, who was also happy to discuss some of the issues arising with the property. The survey and report were completed within a week and the whole process was really helpful with the decisions I needed to make when considering the house purchase.
