I’m really surprised to read some of the negative reviews. My experience has always been very positive. I’ve been visiting the Meadowhall salon for a number of years now and I’ve always been happy with the service I’ve received.
The staff are always friendly and polite and the service is second to none.
My experience today was as always very perfect.

Had French tips the day before my wedding. On my wedding day the white had discoloured to a dirty yellow. My sister had gel extensions and is now on antibiotics due to an infected thumb

Poor experience I wish I’d of read these reviews first I know friends who have been here before but I will not be back.
When I was in the salon my cuticles were pushed back then I was left and there lady was sitting outside waiting another customer. The lady I requested did not do my nails so was disappointed but gave the girl the benefit if the doubt. My cuticles were not cut off although there was clearly a tool there to do this and don’t feel like they were pushed down enough. I have to file one of my nails myself as it was sharp. Then noticed my thumb nail was bubbled. I also requested bio sculpt gel which I was told they did to find that they only put the base coat on in bio sculpt. This has definitely put me off and will not be returning unless I have the last I requested to see what her work is like. Not a professional job in my opinion and i definitely do not hold out any hope for them lasting.

After explaining that I was completely new, having never had a professional manicure before, the technician proceeded to take advantage of me. Telling me it was £1 per nail, for 'block & file (on top of the £33 manicure cost). The website states £1 per item, i e. £1 for the file & £1 for the block. There are cuts on my fingers & lumpy gel on my nails. After challenging it when I got home, they gave me a refund, with no explanation. I don't know if it was just this one staff member or the whole salon, but BEWARE.

Had a lovely experience today at the Dudley, West Midlands store. Gel nails on hands, toes followed by a Brazilian wax.

I was looked after by Aimee for all treatments. She was fabulous, lots of see attention to detail

I've been to Mint a few times and always found it good, manicures from there usually last well and the staff are perfectly nice.

I got builder gel for the first time on my latest visit, which are advertised at lasting 3-4 weeks. Within days I started getting chips. I have emailed their customer service and despite the automated response saying they aim to get back to you within 24hrs, it's been over 48hrs and I have yet to hear back. From what others are saying, I don't think there's any point in waiting on them to respond, so I'm now having to pay more elsewhere to have the builder gel removed.

Nice gels and manicure

I went today at Meadowhall Sheffield brand and book a week in advance to have a pedicure, then I arrived a woman staff named Jessica said can’t do my toes because need soaking to remove the gel and no staff to do it. Wow! Booked and came early to do it before I go to work then will tell you nobody is available to do it. What a disgusting information that no staff can do it. What for is the booking! I’ve seen a staff there just cleaning and still free to do it. Totally a bad experience!!!

No issues with the manicure, but had to wait over 25 minutes, after completion, just to pay because the technician was with another customer. Appointments booked at 20 minute intervals, so unacceptable to have to wait this long just to pay.

Very poor given the amount they charge. Full pedicure and gel. All I asked was for my toe nails to be short and the tops of my big nails to be painted. Feet were soaked for approx 3 mins did put some scrum on. Then hard skin remover used. All skin was on paper towel on the persons knee wasn’t changed or shook. Then file and polish, didn’t paint one of the top of my toes. Have my feet the quickest massage I have ever had and due to the same paper towel on her lap all the skin she removed was stuck to my feet. Honestly they have no idea 31 minutes it took and cost £42 never again

Popped in for acrylic infill and basic mani/polish for my sister. After I paid they said I had to buy the buffer and shaper. Compulsory purchase but should have been included in the price that I had already paid. They could have a discount for those who bring theirs back next time. Sisters nail tech got to work super fast. Felt very rushed and then she cut my sisters finger which was really sore and bleeding! My nail tech removed my old gel with just a file. I have never had it removed like this before. No soak, no electric file, no face mask for the tech who would be breathing in the files off gel particles. When she finished there were still visible bits of my old colour, which was black so very noticeable. Pretty poor job all round. I’ll stick to my usual place where I have never had any issues.

Highly recommend Samantha at Merry Hill branch. I always come away with perfect nails and they last longer because she’s so good at her job. Thanks Sam xx

Had my nails done on 19th October and admittedly, the gel extensions only lasted 10 days and they didn't feel very secure from the start and i was quite dissapointed. However, I spoke with the manager at Mint Nails Corn Exchange Leeds and she couldn't have been more helpful! I went down today to have a full set re-done (free of charge) by Beth who was outstanding. My nails look and feel amazing and I was really pleased with the service. Thankyou very much Beth, you are fantastic at your job and I am very happy. Thankyou to the managers also who resolved this for me. Great salon xxx

I had a signature gel manicure and a gel pedicure. I really loved how my hands turned out as I have to keep them plain and simple for work purposes. It was a really nice manicure and my hands were very soft afterwards. The let down was the pedicure. I found that it was a nice having my toes pampered and relaxing and they felt soft after. However, I didn't realise until I got home that my baby toe was smudged on my skin and not the full nails on my toes were painted. The small hand massage at the end was really nice and the product they use smelt amazing.The price I paid for my toes for the overall finish I wouldn't pay again at all. I loved the colour I chose, just the overall all finish has let me down a bit. Had I have looked a lot more closely whilst in the salon I'd of requested them to be repainted. I am aware I have small nails but the overall finish just wasn't to the standard I expected.
The lady that did my nails was lovely. I love there was no awkward small talk as it something I'm not a fan of. She was lovely and I found the atmosphere in the salon was comfortable and the staff was lovely. I'd come back for my hands just not my toes. A big mention is the fact that you can buy your own nail file and buffer for hygiene purposes which I think is really great idea as most salons use the same file on everyone which really isn't pleasant.
I'd happily give a 5* for my manicure.
The manicure process was nice slightly rushed. I'd of given it a 3* for overall finish

First time experience and it was poor. My usual private technician was closed due to a close family bereavement so I booked for a simple gel soak off and tidy. First technician put amateurish bits of ripped up pieces of lint and kitchen foil on my nails with hardly a word. Left me to do a pedicure for another client. Almost 25 minutes later another technician came to remove the gel - again no dialogue.
She trimmed my cuticles making 4 bleed.
Sorry just not impressed and so glad I chose not to have a gel polish.
Also obviously double bookings.

Just contacted Mint to ask how long gel toes usually last. They said 2-3 weeks but can be upto 4. I said mine had started chipping after 1&half weeks. Said because I hadn’t been straight in when it happened there was nothing that they could do. Explained I’d contacted them as soon I was able to do so. Over £45 the pedicure was. They didn’t want to know who the technician was etc. so they could even make sure it doesn’t happen to someone else. Such a shame as I have regularly gone to this salon and my nails have always been perfect. I won’t ever go back.

Had my nails done 9 days ago (full fresh set - acrylic with gel polish finish) when one came off. I noticed they were all lifting.
I’ve had my nails done for 20 years and never had a set feel so unsecured.
I returned back to Meadowhall on day 11 for a “repair” on the one that came off and paid a further £9 for another to be out on. I did tell the lady that I had to super glue another one as it felt glue and she just said, needs must right.
Just now another nail has pinged off when I took my purse normally out of my handbag.
3 loose (2 off and not even 2 weeks of being off)
I just called now to speak with the salon and was asked if I wanted a full soak and fresh set - at full price!!
That’s correct they didn’t even offer to look at the nails - just about how much money they can make. Zero care or customer service. “We were told well 2 weeks is about right, anyway “
In 20 years I’ve never had 2 nails fall off and had to glue down a third after less than 2 weeks.
Avoid at all costs, plenty of other nail bars in Meadowhall.
Photos attached so you can see it isn’t growth and I’m a week away from needing an infill. Total spent on these for less than 2 weeks was about £70 and they didn’t even have the class to offer to check them!!!

The whole experience was dreadful my nails was booked in on a Thursday and all chipped by the Saturday the salon has no personality and it’s a boring atmosphere and expensive for what you are getting

My last bikini wax there was truly awful. I paid extra for hot wax as usually that is less painful for me. But when I got there the wax had been heated up WAY too much and so was extremely painful as the staff member applied it. Also, because the wax was so incredibly hot, it wouldn't set properly or take all of the hair away so the woman kept having to reapply this lava onto my poor, freshly waxed skin. I was in so much pain the entire time I was almost in tears. A very expensive, excruciating experience which I won't be forgetting any time soon. This was the Meadowhall branch.
