I visited the Knutsford branch on Sunday night, fairly quiet dining experience. Under staffed, inattentive, long waiting times for water and bill at the end. Inappropriate seating offered despite lots... Ver más

Great atmosphere
Mowglis (Cheltenham) is one of my go-to places for celebrations. Great decor and atmosphere, plus who doesn't love a swing?
The food was delicious, although when dining with older people, they can be thrown by the 'as it's ready' ethos, meaning some people had to wait a while and didn't want to share.
I visited the Birmingham restaurant for…
I visited the Birmingham restaurant for mine & my sons birthday. To say the service was shocking was an understatement. I booked the table which allocated us 1 1/2 hours, it took well over 2 1/2hrs just to get serviced. It was so bad that after I’d paid I asked who I thought was the manager if they were the manager, she said I’m one of them but wait there & I’ll be back 🤷♀️ never returned. Shocking
Went and never ate!
Went to the Cheshire Oaks restaurant, we knew you can’t book but to be told to wait in a queue in the freezing cold as there is no bar or waiting area. Why would you go and risk it unless you like eating at noon or 4pm?
First visit to Mowgli streetfood Norwich restaurant in…
Visited the newly opened restaurant in Norwich . Good window seat overlooking the church. Service was a little disjointed with different staff members doing bits of the service on food and drinks . Interesting decor with shelves full of jars giving a fim lighting vibe . Food was ok but spoiled a bit by being served on cold metal plates and serving dishes making the food lukewarm. Wine at £9.30 a glass makes a mockery of Indian streetfood. Eaten better and less expensively at another Norwich Indian streetfood restaurant
Spent over £80.00 but asked to vacate the table!!!
Went for a catch up at Mowgli street food Liverpool with my friend and we haven't seen each other in a while. The food was tasty we had a variety of dishes from chat bombs, biriani, curry fish, and a cauliflower dish. I could not fault the food but we had booked the table and were looking forward to seeing each other. We were buying drinks regularly and not sitting hugging a glass of free water. The staff initially were fine but just as we had ordered 2 espresso martinis a member of staff told us to vacate the table in 10 minutes. My friend said we have just purchased these drinks and had we known then we would not have done that. The waitress was adamant that she wanted the table and said we could move to the bar to finish our drinks. Unfortunately my friend has mobility issues so those high stools are not suitable for her. I asked could we sit at a smaller table but she was abrupt and said they did not have any. She said we should only stay for an hour and a half. I am totally against being timed when you are going out for a meal as it should be a time to kick back and relax. We are not spending pennies per head. It might sell itself as street food but street food prices it aint!! Sadly I will not be returning to Bold St Mowgli the total disregard for peoples enjoyment and a person's mobility does not warrant a return.
Date of visit: October 2025
We were staying in Westfields London so…
We were staying in Westfields London so decided to try Mowgli as we both love Indian food.
We booked as we found out earlier in the week that no walk-ins were allowed after 8. We were taken to our table where we were seated. The table wasn’t really prepared. The waitress did manage to wipe it and throw a candle on it. But no cutlery.
We looked at the menu and ordered our food (unfortunately my favourite Goan Curry was not available)and was recommended to try the prawn curry and the garlic and coriander flat breads. We also ordered two bottles of Cobra.
This is where everything started to go wrong. 20 minutes later our drinks had not arrived although I could see them on the bar quite some time ago. We had to ask again for our drinks which by this time were not as fresh. They eventually bought us fresh (?) drinks but our food still had not arrived. Another ten minutes later and the food arrived minus the flatbread! The flatbread arrived when we had practically finished our meal. Really not good enough.
The food was delicious but the service was appalling. Apologies came but sorry wasn’t really good enough. The service spoiled what should have been a lovely evening for my husband’s birthday.
We did remove the service charge and the “special offer” of a free chocolate brownie!!!
Sorry Mowgli but this is not good enough.
Highly Recommended
We visited London to see ABBA, which was truly outstanding. We thought nothing else could possibly top that experience—but how wrong we were.
After the show, we dined at Mowgli in the Westfield Centre, an Indian street food restaurant. The food was exceptional—each dish bursting with flavour and delivering a wonderful balance of spices that delighted the senses.
A special mention must go to our server, Andrew Perry, whose service was simply outstanding. His attentiveness, professionalism, and genuine care for his customers were remarkable and made the evening even more memorable. He is a true credit to the establishment.
Overall, Mowgli offered an unforgettable dining experience that perfectly complemented an already incredible day. Highly recommended.
Awful.
* no volume given for drinks on menu (except wine)
* no description of spiciness, but not surprising given that none of the food is at all spicy
* no coordination between servers - asked whether we'd like drinks twice and given attitude by the second when we explained the drinks were already on the way.
* minute portions
* puddings arrived wrong, took 20 mins for correct part order to arrive (admittedly at a difficult time, but how difficult is brownie and ice cream)
* automatic gratuity on the bill, plus £1 donation to their in-house charity - can ask to have them removed, but who's going to do that when out for a social occasion with friends. Clear corporate mind-games/manipulation.
Overall: awful. A pity, because Mowgli's in Cardiff was amazing - different company?
Something's changed
We took friends for lunch to the Beverley Mowgli, it was a bit disappointing. The menu has shrunk compared to our last visit- we had a Bunny chow - all soggy bread and not much chicken, a lamb curry - very tasty but a tiny portion, a fried chicken in breadcrumbs dish and lamb chops. Each dish came with a large portion of tasty spiced potatoes. But I felt that if the potatoes and Bunny chow bread had been removed there was so little substance to the meal. Expensive and disappointing - I don't think we'll be going there again.
I visited your Manchester resturant in…
I visited your Manchester resturant in the corn exchange last night..... I felt utterly robbed when the bill arrived and you charged £5.50 for a 330ml bottle of beer... even for Manchester prices thats an utter RIP OFF. I had 3 bottles (so 1.5 pints) ..... which cost me £16.50 .... so you charge £11 a pint.......making your Manchester restaurant the dearest beer in Manchester by far.......... You robbing "Monkey".
Additionally, the service was SO slow.... the staff were thin on the ground..
In summary, I feel ripped off.....
Sheffield
Sheffield! Literally followed their advice on what to eat and what to drink! Fantastic food. Fantastic staff! Really great time!
Mowgli Leeds - hugely disappointing
Mowgli Leeds for our wedding anniversary. My husband had been wanting to try here for a good while. I too was very excited.
What a disappointment. The seating is hard, wooden and cold and doesn’t give a comforting atmosphere for a lovely meal. We were seated next to a staircase in close proximity to another couple. Not a great start but okay. The food arrived in bits, which we were pre-warned about on the menu. However I didn’t expect to have to wait 15 minutes for my first course after my husband received and finished his watermelon chat. The roti’s were not pleasant nor were they warm. The butter chicken wasn’t to my taste whatsoever and I found it quite unpleasant on the palette. Subjective I am aware, but this was the dish I was looking forward to. My other dish (monkey something or other) was not as advertised. Or at least how I read it on the menu. It was bits of cut up onion, a few pomegranate seeds - some of which were not the freshest - and a soggy roti on the bottom. The listing mentioned chutneys, I did not really taste anything chutney related.
We were advised to get 3 dishes each with it being ‘street food’. But gracious me, a meal this did not make. And the prices are not in line with tapas either. £6 for a glass of mango lassi? Gracious me.
The waitresses were attentive but were not in sink with eachother at all. We kept being asked the same questions by each waitress, we ordered more drinks and less than a minute later the other waitress asked if we wanted more drinks. We were asked if our food was ok 7 times, COME ON guys.
My husband had the cardamon old fashioned and there was no cardamon in that drink whatsoever.
10% added as a service charge and the £1 charity fee. Which I don’t agree with. I dislike being forced into funding a charity, whilst I know this can be removed at request, that feels petty does it not?
5 small dishes, 4 roti’s, a coke, a mango lassi and a cardamon old fashioned cocktail - £89.95. Oh dear me. And we have paid well into the hundreds for good meals on special occasions for the two of us. But this wasn’t worth even the £90.
Will not return, will not recommend. Not worth the hype. Much better Indian restaurants out there.
What a bad choice for a special occasion.
Misleading set menu
Leeds . Family of 7 birthday Was advised to order 2-3 dishes which were 7-10 each . So opted for £25pp set menu for 5 of us . You get x 3 curry’s was asked if wanted meat or veg . Opted for meat. When it came the fifth person did not receive roti were told because they are classed as extra although the set menu stated this . We got x 3 meat curry’s and 2 veg were we thought all would be meat as we were asked and does not state this on menu ( would never order veg curry and then did not make it value for money ) the starter was gorgeous but the curries were very watery . We brought our complaint to the manager who at first not very accommodating when we tried to explain we had not received what was on the fixed menu. When I talked to her at the end she did knock 30% off the bill but unfortunately ruined the meal won’t be going back . Overpriced set menu need to make it clearer when ordering set menu to customers what they will or not receive .
Worst food ever had in past 7years in…
Worst food ever had in past 7years in UK, everything is so sweet and so bad you can even have. Donot visit this shit restaurant. I would advice many other which are so good in Leeds
Dog friendly and delicious
Cheshire oaks branch was great. Loved that it was dog friendly. Staff really helpful explaining what each dish was. We will come again
Not so good in Sheffield today
Not so good in Sheffield today, usually my favourite restaurant. Was told that the sharer menu was the "exact same" just shown in a different format, but actually the gunpowder chicken is not on there any more. The dishes weren't as good quality as usual which is a shame.
Dog friendly
We look forward to eating at Mowglis every time we visit Cheshire Oaks, however on this occasion we released that it's a dog friendly restaurant, as I suffer with asthma I can no long eat there, due to this
Just Wow
Fabulous experience from start to finish in the Brighton branch.
Staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming.
Took the time to go through the menu with my 10 year old.
Swings, fairy lights, delicious food and fabulous service
Authentic Indian food served in a stylish, magical setting!
The friendly atmosphere on arrival, the tasty food and excellent service was enjoyed last night by our party of six. This Glasgow branch, with twinkling lights and a beautiful tree emerging as an elegant centre piece, delights, as diners on the tables for two sit in swing chairs, looking very chilled. The drinks menu offers creative cocktails and a good selection of wines - not an endless list, just carefully selected. I loved the authentic Indian dishes, cleaner than the overly rich dishes we're often presented with elsewhere. They say 'small plates' but we were all content to share and enjoy a dish each. No room for pudding but my brother enjoyed a generous ice cream cone and we had mellow coffees. Serving staff were humourous, efficient and obligingly took a photo of our birthday group. I'm definitely going back to try more of these innovative and delectable dishes. It's a yes from me
Newcastle branch
Visited Newcastle branch today - absolutely loved it. The staff including Nicky, Kai and Matthias were exceptional- all smiles, friendly and professional. The food was beautiful with a special shout out to the lamb chops! We had the sharing platter ( with an extra Order of the chops) food was beautifully presented and tasted delicious - a real variety of different flavours. We thoroughly enjoyed it - thank you all
