Very unhelpful staff.

Very unhelpful staff.
I have two disabilities and for some reason this company will not help you.
I have a blue badge and disability national rail card and I have not had an issue getting them.
Very unpleasant!!

A limitation for most

something that should help people is actually limiting us.
It's practically impossible to get the "evidence" they want.
Despite having a clinic letter that specifically says I struggle with events safely by myself, they still want more proof, that's not enough! They want every tiny detail in the world listing out, which isn't possible because without making a clinician physically follow me around in an eveny, they cannot state everything you ask.

So many providers now take nimbus only or make it extremely hard without it. that it's actually limited my options when going out, If I'm diagnosed with something applicable that should be enough. I shouldn't have to list every disadvantage I suffer with because of my disability, it feels horrible to be declined for something I know I should be able to access.

A barrier to equality

A barrier to equality, this company makes getting any access rights almost impossible to get. When I first applied, they refused all symbols except one. I felt this was better than nothing so accepted, not realising that it did not include a plus 1. Now I have had to go back to them for this to be added, and I’ve sent the EHCP, but they just emailed back ignoring this and asking for evidence. They take ages to respond and they have no ability to look at an individual ‘s case but appear to think because he is a child, he needs adults anyway, whereas he needs one to himself! The card itself is a good idea, but I am feeling as though this is in place to stop disabled people getting a plus 1 etc due to company profits - of course this is just my opinion based on my own experiences. If I could give zero stars I would and this company needs investigating by an independent disability rights organisation.

Another appalling service for people with physical disability

Hello,
Another let down for people with a physical disability. I applied & paid for my card in April but no update & no card. Please can you update me where my card is? I thought Nimbus was meant to make my accessible life easier but the whole scheme just seems to make my booking tickets & getting help in venues harder. I used to be able to just phone up a venue & get the help I need but now I have to go through this impersonal process & lose out on gigs because I still don’t have a nimbus card.

No empathy or understanding - avoid!

This has been ongoing for weeks now. I currently have an Access card but noticed not all the symbols required are on the card.
Trying to get a response (and a timely one) from Nimbus is difficult and when you do get a response there is no empathy or understanding of one's both physical and mental health disabilities. After sending numerous documents to back by request for an updated card they still want more, which means I need to get another doctors letter (at a cost to me of £66) to get my card updated, not including the cost Nimbus will charge me for an update.
For a company who states it "is improving the lives of hundreds of thousands of disabled people every year - enabling them better access to entertainment venues" they should really have a look at their customer service/service delivery.
I am aware that I am not alone in receiving the poor service from Nimbus and the lack of care.
If I had the option for zero stars even this is higher than what they deserve.
You really need to address your 'about' statements, there is nothing you are doing at all to improve the lives of disabled people, you are adding to our difficulties and challenges we face every day.

Taking advantage of disabled people

Nimbus is a scam and they are taking advantage of disabled people. As a carer you have to apply for everything and go through countless applications for pip, diagnoses which takes 3 years of a waiting list, blue badges, bus carer passes, spending you whole life filling out statements and Ehcp plans, and then on top of everything else now you get told venues don't accept any of that as proof and you need this stupid access card - which is yet another form to fill, more paperwork to yet again prove a family member is disabled - only this time instead of getting help you get the privalige of paying £15 to show the world a disabled card as yet more proof of needing a carer and being disabled! And they make themselves the only proof venues will accept. What is the point of waiting 3 years for adult diagnoses and getting a social worker and getting pip and everything else you have to do when you want to go somewhere and now you're told "we don't accept any of that as proof and you need an access card". Oh and when you try to make an access card the website doesn't actually take the payment and when you call them the operator keeps you on hold for a good 5 minutes and then cuts of! Nothing but a scam and should be shut down by the government

Awful

A friend has provided them with all information and they just keep asking for more, I get the impression that they are there to look to not give out passes even though I have proven the condition is covered by the equality act 2010 as it’s in the company that uses them best interest to restrict them. Asked about do the venues pay them any money and been informed that they will no say so it doesn’t take a genius to work out what is happening here I wouldn’t recommend them!

Also why are they charging disabled persons for a card to get the same rights as able bodied is that not discriminatory in itself?

Pointless useless organisation

This group claims to help disabled people however they place so many hurdles in place for people trying to access these passes,if being autistic and having extreme difficulty in large groups of people or having cancer does not progress an application god knows what will.

worst group even seen

worst group ever seen. totally sided with organizations claim to provide assistance to disabled but indeed posing more hardship to bar applications with unreasonable excuses. simply wanna to take advantages from disabled.

I paid for card and emailed requested information. When I tried to find out today why promised card had not arrived it was impossible to get an adviser on the phone and the email I sent will be replied to in 5-10 working days.

No dignity

Disgusting scheme… to get a +1 on your card they are discriminating and treating people differently… some people are only asked for proof e.g. the front cover of their pip form, others are asked for a lot more detail including the breakdown/pip pages and all detail. If you question this, including charities disagreeing with the invasiveness they will ignore you and not reply!

The must have card in every disabled persons wallet

I recently used my 'Access' card and oh boy was it simple and straight forward. No more long telephone calls having to explain my disability and my access needs. I gave them my card number, and it was done. Buying the 'Access' card was money well spent and even though they process many hundreds of cards a day, mine was done within a few minutes. Renewing my 'Blue Badge' took 12 weeks! The operator at 'Nimbus Disability' was polite, helpful and efficient. Well done coming up with the idea of the card in the first place, and for a first class service, a rare thing today.

Terrible quality cards and even worse…

Terrible quality cards and even worse customer service. I ordered an access card and the photo I submit was decent; but on the card it was very cropped, super dark and had weird lines running through it. The writing on the front was very blurred and hard to read. The back of the card was poorly designed and had grammatical errors on it. Pretty much everything about the card was low quality and an amateur job. When I complained to customer service about my card (particularly the photo and writing) they took weeks to even reply and then just claimed that “all their cards are like that” so therefore they won’t do anything to replace/refund me! They also said that if I was “unsatisfied with the photo I submitted” I could PAY THEM £5 to print me a new one. The absolute nerve of them to ask me to pay more money to them to fix their error is shocking. Feels so scammy to convince companies to sign up to them; to the point where a bunch will ONLY accept access cards and no other proof of disability and then make disabled people shell out £15 for such a crap quality item. If you can, AVOID!!!
