My wife and I were first time buyers and did an awful lot of research into which solicitors to go with. After narrowing it down, the clinching factor was that Oliver & Co have laid out the entire house buying process on their website making the whole journey easy to understand.
We were assigned Iestyn Lovatt as our conveyancer and we could not be happier to have had him. We ended up having 2 different purchases fall through before we finally completed the purchase on our third attempt.
The billing had always been made crystal clear well in advanced, and Iestyn was always more than happy to speak with us via either email or phone dependent on how we chose to contact him. Iestyn remained patient with us and extremely diligent in everything he did. There was also never any point we ever even had the thought to chase him up as everything was always completed very quickly. There were also times during the process where we didn't understand why certain things were being requested of the sellers solicitor and every time Iestyn happily explained things to us. It just turns out that if we were allowed to try and buy a house without a conveyancer, we would have been hoodwinked and/or left in a precarious position of potential liability several times over.
Iestyn always felt like a close ally through everything, someone we could rely on and trust implicitly to not only act in our best wishes but to also actively seek out better solutions for us.
There is absolutely no way we would ever chose anyone else. Iestyn has firmly cemented himself as our go to man.
We honestly could not say enough positive things about our experience and it has left us wanting to use Oliver & Co for our other legal needs such as will writing.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Allison Pepper at Oliver & Co over the last two years while going through my claim, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for better support. Kerry and all the team at Oliver & Co have been extremely professional, polite, courteous, informative and supportive, throughout the whole process. I cannot recommend Kerry and her team highly enough for her friendly and very professional handling of my case.

I used Oliver & Co for my personal injury claim. Kathryn was professional from start to finish. Happy with the service and happy to use again if needed.

A general disappointing experience…. At no point did they give us confidence in the process and they never appeared to be proactive. It felt like they had too much work on and we weren’t a priority client - I’m thankful our estate agent was all over this transaction to keep it moving forward.

Here are some of the issues:

1. Emails not replied to when we had queries on the process and dates - at least acknowledge them rather than ignore them so we know you are actually doing something about it
2. They didn’t call back when they said they would
3. They didn’t communicate clearly on the process and how things were progressing e.g. when we are asking about what needs to happen for us to exchange.
4. We shared the same information 3 times for the purchasers and in the end the Estate Agents shared it directly.
5. Asking for the same information by different people multiple times
6. The trainee conveyancer was used 80% of the time and didn’t have the experience or know-how to answer questions.

Sadly, due to their approach we went with another solicitor for our purchase.

Absolutely great service from Sarah Ayliffe and her team, thank you very much for being so helpful and making it easy for us to prepare our wills! We had total confidence in the advice we were given and have no hesitation in recommending your services to all our family and friends.
