Response on some shifts especially afternoon is very ordinary when you press your call button waited many times 40 minutes plus have spoken to management about this but no improvement mainly depends which so called carers are on.
After working for over thirteen years in Aged Care, Gawler Hillside Opal Aged Care Community is simply the best I have ever seen. The Management,Office Managers, Registered and Enrolled Nurses, Carers, Kitchen Staff and Cleaners are all exceptional in their roles. They couldn’t do more for the residents and their families and nothing is too much trouble. The residents are their priority and main focus, always keeping them happy and respected. On the nursing side of care, they are looked after and treated with dignity. All the work team look happy and pleased to be there and this attitude carries on through to the residents and their families. A lovely home to have your loved one. Clean, modern facility that feels homely. Great cafe facility and the meals are amazing. If you want exceptional care for your loved one, Hillside in Gawler is certainly the best choice.

The facility is so beautiful and feels like resort living rather than a nursing home. Both our parents were so loved until the end and the beautiful staff made it a pleasure to visit without any stress.

After moving to be closer to us, we struggled to find mum a good nursing home in Queensland, especially after the high standard of the former one she was in.
I can not vouch for all the Opal Aged Care Centres, but I can say the one at Raynbird Carseldine is in a lovely setting, with food cooked fresh on the premises and staff that want to engage with the residents.
Many times I would turn up unannounced and would see someone ensuring she was okay, trying to engage her and always calling her by name. When she passed away there, the staff were professional in a warm and friendly way. We were given plenty of support and time in the days after. I'm very glad mum got to spend her last 9 months there.
