I made an offer on a plate which was accepted swiftly. I was told by another dealer that the vendor would not move on price. We realised we couldn’t find the V5 so ordered a new one, when it arrived we put it straight onto the car, the pdf we were sent allowed us to have the plates made up.

Cannot fault the company in any way. I accepted an offer close to my asking price. The transaction was very fast and handled in a professional way. The buyer pays Plate Hunter and they hold the money until they receive my retention certificate, which is verified with DVLA before money is transferred into my account. It took only 2 days,amazing! Very trustworthy and professional, definitely 5 stars!

I used Platehunter to buy a private plate as a birthday gift while also in the middle of buying a new car — which adds its own complications with the V5 and transfer process. Despite that, they were brilliant throughout.

They replied to emails even over the weekend, kept everything moving, and made what could have been a stressful process feel quick and straightforward. The transfer side especially was handled smoothly.

I’ll admit the website looks a little basic at first (I even wondered if it might be a bit dodgy!), but everything worked perfectly and the service was excellent from start to finish.

I thought there could be a problem in selling the plate on behalf of my parents, but it couldn't have been further from the truth. When a buyer had been found the process was easy and fast and staff were helpful / friendly. Would recommend.
