I guess I should’ve read the reviews first. I ordered a part for a lawnmower a week ago and then receive an email stating the don’t have the part, utter waste of my time. Don’t waste your time, buy from a reputable company.

I am writing this partly to prompt PowerToolPares to refund my money.
I ordered a replacement motor and pulley assembly for my table saw. I paid the £621.88 and the "factory part" motor was duly dispatched.
Unfortunately upon arrival I found the die-cast mounting plate was broken, the pulley was completely different to mine and the motor was not an AEG Scheppach but a noticeably inferior unbranded motor. I called PowerTool Spares and was told to speak Richard Taylor who apparently supplied PTS with the parts.
After discussing me replacing the base plate and pulley etc. on the new motor I decided that I would return the faulty goods as belts probably wouldn't fit and pulleys might be difficult to replace by hand and instead try to get my original motor repaired as this sounded like a cheaper simpler and ultimately better option.
Of course I was told I would have to pay shipping even though the parts were broken and didn't fit.
After pointing out I am within my rights to a full refund I received a simple courier label with no apologies or explanation, and the package was collected the following day
I enquired about a refund from Richard Taylor but he explained his company had invoiced PowerToolSpares so they would have to refund me. I then emailed PowerToolSpares and they say Richard Taylor has not confirmed receipt of the motor so nearly two weeks have passed and I am still £621.88 out of pocket with PowerToolSpares (who are apparently owned by J Carr & sons) blaming Richard Taylor (who apparently works at NMA(agencies) kicking this about between themselves. I hope anyone reading this will think twice before throwing money at either of these companies.
* Added. I tried to duplicate this review for NMA agencies and J Carr & Sons but they don't appear to exist as far as Trust Pilot in concerned. My next port of call is the small claims court.

Not only did David spot a slight anomaly in my order, but he emailed me to query it, and then when he found out my wife was returning to New Zealand in a week's time, he changed the delivery to super fast courier, at his expense, to make sure it arrived at my daughter's place in time - which it did (It's even the right part, which I was having trouble getting in NZ). Brilliant!
