Sold our house with Hedley Conway from Preston Baker Selby. We used Hedley after struggling with prior estate agent for 6 month and needed a quick sale. Hedley was very down to earth whilst remaining extremely professional, kept us up date all the way through process and got the sale. Great experience all round and would highly recommend.

I contacted Preston Baker regarding the sale as I'd had faultless service from the company in the past when my property was rented out through them before the letting arm was sold to Linley & Simpson.
Of the 3 estate agents I contacted Rachel/PB was the only one who took the trouble to have a video call with me to talk me through the process, her valuation and what PB could offer.
Valuations from the other agents were 10% lower but Rachel was confident we could achieve the higher price, and indeed I had an offer for the full asking price within 2 weeks.

I have recently agreed a sale and used Preston Baker to market the property. The service has been excellent throughout. Rachel Lansdell took twice the time to look round our property, make observations and ask questions as compared to another agents. Preston Baker put us in touch with Raheel of Feelgood Financial (who are a subsidiary of Preston Baker) with regards to mortgage advice.

Early impressions were very positive; Raheel was prompt with his introductory call, highly professional, polite and took the time to ascertain our financial situation, wishes and made some sound recommendations thereafter.

We asked for a couple of days to consider our options and promptly replied with our wishes.

At this stage it all went quiet. Numerous emails and texts went unresponded to for days. Eventually, around a week later, Raheel did get back in touch to say he'd had a health scare and apologised. We gave him the benefit of the doubt and instructed him to continue advancing matters for us. He responded to say he'd be back in touch that weekend (this was on the Thursday).

We never got that update and still, another 5 days later, we've heard nothing so enough is enough, we're going to take our business elsewhere. We probably remained patient longer than we should have.

Even if the initial reason given was genuine, the mortgage market is so fluid and fast paced right now that deals can be pulled in a flash so prompt, efficient communication is key. Whatever the reason for no communication, Raheel (and the organisation he represents) should have contingency plans in place for unforeseen circumstances so the client remains unaffected.

What started off very positively and promising was rapidly soured so, unfortunately, there's no way I could recommend Preston Baker and the mortgage brokering services they offer via Feelgood Financial.

We have travelled over 200 miles to view a Property, put an offer in the next morning, Someone from Preston Baker called to confirm the offer and to find out the reason for the move. They said they would get back to us. Two days later, we received an email outline our offer and the status of the sale of our house. Nothing more was heard, two days after that we checked the property online to discover it was STC. We called the estate agents to find out what was going on, to be to,d someone would call us back. No call. Next morning, which is now 5 days since the viewing, emailed the agent with a complaint re there lack of communication, early evening we received an email saying the people buying the property were in a better position to,proceed, which we could understand, but I think the lack of communication from them is appalling and we certainly will not view any properties that are with them. They really need to look at their processes

The dreadful service reviews are the more accurate. I am a trustee of a property portfolio. Over several years PB harassed over properties sold or let years before, ignoring notice to remove the references on file. PB appear to use sales canvassers with out of date information and glib sales techniques. Valuation appointments were regularly missed without notification; valuations were not provided following visits; false accounts were provided to justify missed appointments. Director Jessica Fox now states PB are not able to value for distant property owners unable to attend in person; ruling out portfolio trustees and remote holders. Working to a formula of badly constructed sales pitches and unable to justify claimed skills and standards; this firm should be avoided.

We had an excellent experience buying our first home through Preston Baker. Peter and Julie were fabulous from start to finish and even provided the bubbly and a bunch of flowers for that all-important first picture outside the house. Thank you!!
