I have been under the care of Dr Maria Ivanov. I have also had CBT with Lydia Hanane.
I can definitely say that I have had world class treatment and care. I thoroughly recommend using the Priory services.
I cannot thank Maria and Lydia enough for helping me regain my strength and skillfully manage depression.

It would like to express my sincere thanks for the excellent care I received during my recent procedure at The Priory Hospital Birmingham. Being able to see the same consultant Mr Tariq Ismail on each occasion has made a huge difference to me. His detailed knowledge of my history means I receive care that is genuinely personalised to my circumstances, and I greatly value the time he takes to explain findings and next steps in a way I can understand.
The whole day‑case experience also went very smoothly. All of the staff I encountered were friendly, helpful and highly professional, which helped me feel reassured and well looked after throughout my visit. Please pass on my thanks to the entire team.

AVOID CONTACTING THESE PEOPLE LIKE THE PLAGUE. THEIR ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF HAVE NEITHER COMPASSION NOR BASIC EDUCATION IN MENTAL HEALTH SAFETY, LET ALONE ADEQUATE INTELLIGENCE FOR BASIC COMMON SENSE. IF YOU CONTACT THEM, YOU RISK THEM MAKING YOU VERY MUST WORSE BEFORE YOU CAN EVEN MAKE AN ENQUIRY. DO NOT EVEN RISK CONTACT!
I have just finished a 6 week OT Apprentice placement at Barnt Green and I myself work within Mental Health (NHS). I need to share how fantastic and professional the whole service is. All staff from Reception, maintenance, housekeeping, kitchen, therapy, nurses, HCA's, doctors, consultants and management have all been extremely welcoming & supportive and it was very evident this extends within the team itself in how they support, respect, communicate & work with one another, thus creating a structured, calm, warm and family feel atmosphere throughout the building. It is clear they do their best to dissolve the Private/NHS divide & always dever to provide quality care to every patient who walks through their doors & are constantly working together as a team to continue improving the service for their patients.
I only had the privilege to work on the NHS wards Clent & Jubliee (Picu & Acute) and what a privilege! The professional relationships they build with the patients with dedication, advocacy, empathy and understanding while upholding healthy boundaries is outstanding. I never saw a patient being dismissed & every staff member always had time and patience to listen and support their individual needs. Although the wards can be very challenging at times they try their upmost to create a relaxed, kind, safe & friendly environment. And during my 6 weeks I have had the pleasure to witness many patients grow & succed on their journey of healing due the excellent level of care.
And of course a big shout out to the therapy team especially the OT's who are just amazing & provide the patients with a safe space to express themselves freely & promoting independence & coping skills while bringing creativity and fun.
It is not because this is a private service why I speak so highly of Barnt Green but the people within it and would rest easy if my loved one was in receipt of their care.

the place was a shit while, they ignored people in crisis the kitchen could never get the food right we didn’t go outside they took our phones away and made us contact home through a telephone whilst being watched they refused to accommodate people’s needs when they had special arrangements to help cope due to ban. the only good bit was the education which was like. an space from the ward
We took our daughter for what we believed was an assessment. She had been suffering with severe mental health issues for years. She's only 11.
The appointment cost £350. It was almost an hour long. The Psychiatrist could barely be bothered to ask any questions past the generic ones.
She spoke to my daughter for 5 mins alone. She asked her two questions. It was mostly silence, I later heard from my daughter.
We left with a diagnosis of 'separation anxiety ' and a prescription for melatonin, which I myself suggested! £15 for the paper and when reordered I ended up paying over £50 for the tablets for 4 week supply plus the £15 for the prescription. (If she had just sent me the prescription, it would have cost me £15 )
Carried on going through absolute hell with my daughter, to then be told about 'the right to choose ' well! That was the most amazing, thorough experience. They went so deep into her history and completed so many interviews with both of us. As it should be.
We came out of that with an Austism diagnosis.

Worked for them for approx 1 year before witnessing a serious assault by a staff member on an elderly vulnerable autistic adult, reported and covered up by senior managers and multi supposedly safeguarding agencies including the police who paid scant regard to the allegation, not even taking a statement from witnesses, all swept under carpet in house, do not put your loved ones in their care.
After years of battling a severe drug addiction to both crack cocaine and heroin, I eventually reached the absolute breaking point of my existence. I was emaciated, suicidal, and utterly broken—both physically and mentally. In sheer desperation, I sought help. A friend recommended The Priory, and with the support of my caseworker, I submitted my application for treatment.
After six agonising weeks of waiting for a decision—during which my partner and caseworker sent constant emails requesting updates and received no answers—my condition deteriorated to a critical level. My weight fell to just six stone, I became homeless, and I was sinking beyond anything I thought possible. And after all that waiting, my application was simply declined, with little to no explanation provided.
For an institution that publicly claims to champion recovery for those battling addiction and mental illness, this was not only disheartening but dangerously negligent. The absence of urgency, communication, and compassion placed my life in jeopardy. At best, their process demonstrated incompetence; at worst, it revealed a shocking disregard for the very people they profess to help. In those six weeks, I could easily have lost my life—or, had I been admitted elsewhere sooner, been well on the road to recovery.
Thankfully, I was eventually directed to another facility that immediately recognised the severity of my situation. They acted without hesitation, doing everything in their power to admit me quickly. Because of their swift response, I was able to complete detoxification, undertake a two-month rehabilitation programme, and I am now proud to say I have been clean and sober for just over three months.
Today, my life has been completely transformed. I have regained my health, now weigh a healthy thirteen stone, and for the first time in years, I feel peace of mind. I am coping with life, moving forward with hope, and continuing to build a future worth living. Since completing treatment, I have stayed fully engaged with aftercare, recovery meetings, and ongoing therapy. I also exercise regularly, which has become a cornerstone of my wellbeing.
Most importantly, I am taking steps to give back. I am enrolling in college to study psychology and counselling, with the goal of supporting others in their fight against addiction. Alongside this, I have also begun the process of writing my autobiography, in the hope that by sharing my story, I can inspire others who may feel trapped in the same darkness I once endured.
My experience has taught me not only resilience but also how essential compassion, urgency, and professionalism are in saving lives. I will continue to work on myself, to extend a hand to others, and to use my voice—both in person and through my writing—so that no one has to suffer in silence or feel abandoned at their most vulnerable.

I recently contacted the priory for an assessment based on the google advertised fees of from £99 for a psychiatric assessment The actual price of a consultant psychiatrist which is the only doctor why can carry out a full assessment is actually between £350-£750 even that fee they would not confirm until a doctor is assigned after submitting information relevant to your own medical situation.
Priory group you are a medical organisation helping people in acute and serious conditions yet you are selling treatments like a used car dealership. You should be thoroughly ashamed and I advise anyone to seek assistance elsewhere.
In response to Priory reply. The only available psychiatric assessment starts at £350 there is only a therapist assessment around £100 which is definitely not a psychiatrist report and was clear in the email response that a therapist is not qualified to make an assessment. In the google search ad it clearly states psychiatric assessment from £99 this is clearly an attempt to lure in clients who are in crisis so they then feel they have no choice. Utterly deceitful and deplorable tactics. As I said before Priory group should be thoroughly ashamed and of course my negative review is one of many, don’t respond to me again change your corporate strategy and actually care about patients not revenue.

From the very start of employment at kemple view, Langho it was noticed that the medical staff were understaffed and that Kemple view had a very serious problem with recruitment and retention of staff putting the patients at risk. Over the next four years of trying to improve the damp, mouldy and bodged up site through the maintenance department it was found that apart from a couple of the maintenance "team" the rest were happy to do the least possible with the minimum of standards using the excuse minimum wage minimum effort however when the wage went up their efforts did not. Corruption was found where budgets were used for personal uses, reported with evidence and swiftly swept under the carpet and "screw"ed down and "fix"ed securely. So when you report something the management does not like they seem to think that they are a law to themselves and will do everything possible to get rid of you, they will hound you and if you have a disability or medical issue then this will be used against you. they will accuse you of bullying and being aggressive using statements that do not make sense or relate to anything. The staff that work on the wards are good hard working people trying to get on in the world working to pay their bill's. I can only warn prospective employees to steer clear of this particular site as the majority of the management are self important toxic people with only their own best intentions at heart. I bitterly regret ever going to work at Kemple View as it has been a horrible experience, I was injured on a job instructed by the H and S person and due to his actions I am now disabled, again this was swiftly swept under the carpet and all the grievances relating to him mysteriously disappeared. Priory can say what they want, the truth is there. Nice grass by the way.

I am reviewing Rohampton Priory. The experience I have had has been excellent all the staff at Roehampton have been great. I cannot say a bad word about my entire stay here.

Having been in another Priory, I would say the overall treatment and care at the Roehampton Priory was superior.
The admission was clear (albeit that I had experienced this previously and knew the ropes), and I was made aware of who my consultant etc was. My consultant was Dr Kumar and he was exceptional! Whenever he was in the building, even when I didnt have an appointment with him, he always swung by my room to check I was doing ok. Never experienced that before!
The nurses and HCA's were really good with very few exceptions.
The food was ok, although given the ward I was in, we had to have our food brought up....there were frequent mistakes with the deliveries, but on the whole not too many complaints as we shouldnt expect michelin star quality food!
Night staff also needed reminding to keep quiet as they sometimes forget they were not there during the day and were quite noisy. Again, on the whole most were very good.
The grounds were beautiful which encouraged me to go out for walks in them, which was good for me to exercise.
In my opinion, the gym was well stocked, and the fact that Sunday mornings provided Tai Chi, I was very happy as it was something I always wanted to try but just never got around to it. And so glad that I did.
On the whole, I found this a great place to help me recover and manage my medication....and would have no objections to return to this facility.
Thank you everyone at the Roehampton Priory.

I’ve changed doctors now, the whole experience of getting medication and appointments, is not good. I don’t know if it’s York’s infrastructure and we are overpopulated and they are understaffed and we need more doctors, I just don’t know. I’ve moved doctors and im going to see if it’s any better elsewhere.
I have ongoing complaints as well as my experience shared with my MP and dependent on the outcome I will be engaging the press. The 'care' is revolting, the hospital should not be a licensed caregiver as there have been serious failings both in my treatment and from research into the past.
It is clear, that the hospital is interested in making money at all costs, the care given by the ward manager and the disdain given by the staff, including what appears to be staff training with no common courtesy or decency. The place is a joke. AVOID AVOID AVOID.
I had an interview and was advised that i am going to receive a feedback in couple days times, however it didnt happen and i had to call them myself. They informed that the date of final decision suddenly was changed. Following this, they called me after couple days and informed being successful for the position.
However, they pay rate was half to the offered on their advert and as nothing happened they did not apology for this and said that this is not the advert they put on indeed, however managed somehow to invite me for an interview and not someone else.
So the amount of salary offered was half less and they pushed me to make a decision- take it or leave it. When i did not agree due to my professionalism as a social work due to my own dignity and respect, they easily withdrawn my application and offer for the position.
I have never worked there, however dont recommend either for instability, misleading and lack of responsibility in this company.

Horrific. I had believed the Priory brand and historic reputation so booked an appointment with a doctor. She shared a lot of the details of our consultation including stories of abuse and went against my consent form, lied about GMC rulings. She was under no obligation to share my information. The Priory did investigate but I’m not happy with how they conducted it nor their responses. She was found to have breached my data against my consent wishes.
Dr didnt show up to 2 appointments but still charged me full whack for then not being there. I tried to talk to receptionist but they just ignore you . Absolutely awful place do not use! Your better off calling nhs or any other private dr . DO NOT GO HERE!
Three week stay in two priory group hospitals. Abysmal treatment at both Finch Ward in Wolverhampton and Aspen Ward in Birmingham. From the cleaners to the consultant doctors treatment was shockingly bad. Highly unrecommended
Worrying impression right from the start. The admission process was terrible, with no reassurance from the staff checking to see if our teenager was ok (they were visibly shaking and crouched, head down). They did not respond to the distressed body language and fired one question after another - it felt like a tick box exercise and we were just simply yet another number. The place felt like a prison with a very oppressive feel about it and we had wondered what on earth had we done to hand our child over to people who did not show any warmth or compassion from the outset or during the stay. They did not understand how frightening an admission to an inpatient unit can be. It soon became apparent from every visit that it was like the blind leading the blind, with mostly agency staff having their own interpretation of the rules. This made it easy for the adolescents to get away with a lot of things they shouldn't have. The staff were not observant or proactive, or indeed interested. We caught agency staff sleeping or on their phones whilst on duty on three occasions - and these are people who are paid to do the job of looking after vulnerable young people with poor mental health..! The permanent staff on the ward were rude to both patients and parents on many occasions and we wondered what on earth they were doing working in a role which they clearly didn't enjoy doing..! Surely at the very basis of an inpatient unit staff should be treating patients with care and compassion. The calibre of staff really let the whole unit down and some were truly shocking in what they said and did. The whole place is grubby, run down and in need of an overhaul. The showers were frequently out of action or flooded. The food, re-heated by a well known contractor, was of poor quality and tepid. We didn't meet any parents who did not have a complaint about the quality of care their child was receiving. As parents we would most definitely not recommend the Priory to treat your young person as an NHS patient. There are far too many 'room for improvement' areas to be worked on. If the unit was ever up to a good standard, then it has very clearly hit a downward slope and is in rapid decline. It really needs to be closed down. NHS patients do not deserve this poor standard of care. No one does.
I didn’t have a great experience personally based on some personal issues I was going through at the time (which is the point of going to a specialist) however the group was kind enough to refund my appointment.
