After trying what feels like every agency tool under the sun, we finally landed on Productive - and honestly, it’s been a game changer.
Running a digital agency means juggling projects, budgets, time tracking, resourcing, reporting… and usually across 4 or 5 different platforms that never quite talk to each other properly. Productive is the first platform we’ve used that genuinely brings it all together in one place.
Project management is solid and flexible, budgeting and forecasting are actually useful (not just “there for show”), and the time tracking ties everything together in a way that finally gives us real visibility on performance and profitability.
What really stands out is how it connects the dots across the business. It’s not just a tool for one team - it’s become the operational backbone of our agency.
Is it perfect? No platform is. But it’s the closest we’ve found to a true all-in-one solution for agencies that are serious about scaling and understanding their numbers.
If you’re tired of duct-taping multiple tools together, Productive is well worth a look.
Mostly a decent tool
Mostly a decent tool; developer experience isn't as good as things like ClickUp, but business side of things is better.
Weird 'features' like totals of "time to complete" get reduced the further a task overruns. E.g. if you have 3 tasks of 10 hours, and 1 is completed, you would expect 20 hours remaining to be scheduled. But if you overrun on task 1 e.g. 15 hours, that then calculates as -5, making productive tell you that you have 20 + (-5) time left, and therefore falsely shows 15 hours.
Those time of things force you to export to e.g. google sheets reducing the productivity of productive.
A bit complex to operate
A bit complex to operate, however we found wourkounds so far, licensing model sucks though. I need to model some forecasts and p requires to get licenses for all ressources
Who is advising them on UX updates?
I am really bewildered as to who is recommending their UX updates - which seem to happen every couple of months and be focused on adding complexity - not an intuitive and sensible UX.
They seem to assume complexity of reporting is the goal and that all their users have the luxury of time within their system.
Handy scrolling bar for the resource planner so you can move quickly between weeks: Let's remove that and instead make you toggle day-by-day!
Handy overview sticky section so you can see at a glance how your project is performing above the estimate? No! Let's remove that and instead add 5 tabs that you need to look across!
It's mind boggling as to who is making these decisions.
Fast-paced businesses and busy project managers need tools that apply common sense to the UX and don't add complexity for the sake of keeping their devs busy.
Yes it's nice to have info when you need it - that's what the report outputs are for - but most Project managers would ask for a front end UX that makes their jobs easier, streamlining is key.
Some of the recent changes have been a step backwards for how quickly we can do the jobs we need to do. I really feel we will need to vote with our feet soon as the frequency and types of changes, are too much

Best Project Management Tool EVER…
This is by far the best project management software I have used. I like the ability to track time and also build templates for future projects.
Productive - best project tool for marketing agencies
We have been using Productive for a number of years now. In terms of a project tracking / management tool for a small marketing communications agency, it was simply the best tool I found to manage the numerous small projects as well as annual retainer projects that we are involved in.
Staff & Platform are great!
Productive staff have been quick to respond to questions, bug reports, and feature requests. They offer specific feedback on my questions and are able to point me in the right direction if I have an issue. The platform itself has been great, and our team is quickly acclimating to it.
I paid for a full year and they STEAL YOUR MONEY
I paid for a full year of Productive on iPhone. When I switched to Android, I was shocked to discover that my subscription was completely useless. The app demanded that I pay again just to continue using what I already bought.
Support told me this is "how the system works." No apology, no solution, no transfer — just pay again or get nothing. This kind of platform lock-in is predatory, outdated, and shows complete disregard for customers.
There was no clear warning before purchase that subscriptions are tied to the platform. In today’s world, that’s unacceptable. I lost both my money and my trust in this app.
I strongly advise others to think twice before subscribing — unless you’re sure you’ll never change phones.
Tried many, found the one!
Productive is tailor-made for agencies and graphic studios. It totally understands our needs.
What I like the most is the ultrafast customer support and the speed the roll out new updates and fix reported bugs.
I couldn't do it without Productive
When I started my agency, I didn't really know what I was getting into - I was just doing some work for my clients. And then project management got increasingly complex... and the google sheets started... and the budgets got more complex... and before I knew it, I was spending half of my day just doing administrative stuff. Productive put an end to all of it - on day 2 or 3, I was using ALL of their features and will never go back. Awesome.
Great Company with Great Support
It's been great, the initial onboarding was harder than expected but their team really went the extra mile in helping us set things up and explaining things, the service transformed what could have been a quick churn into a longterm relationship.
