I’ve been working with Property Hunters for a while now, and I can’t recommend them enough! Their process is simple—just find empty properties, pass on the details, and get paid. They are reliable, professional, and always quick with payments, which makes the whole experience smooth and hassle-free.

I highly advise staying far away from…

I highly advise staying far away from Property Hunters (Lease Kings). My experience with them was nothing short of a nightmare. Firstly, I found that my rent payments were consistently short and I was missing money, despite the terms of our agreement. To make matters worse, their monthly statements were almost always inaccurate, requiring me to spend additional time tracking down errors.

When I posted a negative review about my frustrations, Christine from their team reached out, asking me to remove it. She even claimed that if I did so, she would terminate my contract without penalty (which auto-renews every year). However, a few days later after deleting my review, I received a bill for a "non-penalty" charge, which felt like a bait-and-switch. It was clearly a penalty disguised as something else.

Then there’s the issue of the office appointment. They confirmed a time for me to pick up my house keys, but when I showed up, I discovered there was no office at all! There was a construction site, and neighbors told me the business had shut down. None of this was communicated to me beforehand.

To top it off, they posted a negative review on my business page without ever suing any of my services. They violated my confidentiality by disclosing personal details about my home, tenants, and even my new career as a broker. This not only breached our agreement but also severely damaged my professional reputation.

As if all of this wasn’t enough, Todd, one of the owners, called me, threatening and swearing at me, saying he had “power” in the city and would take my house from me. This kind of behavior seems to be a pattern for them—threatening clients and leaving negative reviews without justification. They’ve repeatedly violated their own contracts and shown a complete lack of professionalism.

Avoid Property Hunters (Lease Kings) at all costs. Save yourself the trouble and the money.

Excellent Service

We had a really high Enwin water bill which we had to pay. Linda of maintenance not only fixed the problem promptly but also arranged for us to get $765 of water relief credit from Enwin!

I had an excellent experience with…

I had an excellent experience with Property Hunters. I had never applied for a rental and was searching for one for my son. They helped me navigate through the listings and the application. They were quick to respond and to answers questions. I would recommend this company to anyone who needs to search and secure a property.

PLEASE TAKE YOUR MONEY SOMEWHERE ELSE. THESE PEOPLE ARE MONEY HUNGRY VULTURES AND WILL MAKE YOUR LIFE A LIVING HELL. I’m writing this review on behalf of my friend, since this property “management” company has a history of punishing their tenants for speaking badly about them publicly. They even had to delete their old Google reviews page due to all the bad reviews. They claim to have had this Google review for years now, but it only has a handful of reviews, which don’t add up at all! Most of these reviews are their own employees!! My friend has had several bad encounters with people who work here, with one encounter making them fear for their safety. The unit they rented out had mold, broken fridge, and leftover food in the cupboards and oven. Nothing is ever fixed in a timely manner, god forbid your pipe burst or theres a gas leak! Please just rent anywhere else but here, these people are not worst your time and hard earned money.

Property hunters, best in Canada.

Property hunters is the best property management company in all of Canada. During all my interactions with property hunters employees, I experience nothing but professionalism. They truly care about the tenants, and the homes they manage, as well as the condos they manage. They work hard to find people a place to live, and go the extra mile for tenants who have difficulty finding living arrangements. Their lawn care services provided through their property management company is bar none. The best lawn care service that I have seen in North America. I would highly recommend their services to anyone looking to rent a property, or to manage properties.

Tenants and Owners Beware

INCORRECT MONTHLY STATEMENTS

I have 6 properties that were managed by Property Hunters, and my experience with them have been a nightmare. The monthly statements I was issued were incorrectly done on a regular basis – more often than not, I didn’t receive all of what I was owed. Going over statements was something I had to do on a regular basis, as was correcting them about my missing money.

OVERCHARGED TENANTS

My tenants agreed to pay half of the utility bills in the lease they signed. Eventually, they stopped paying because Property Hunters refused to show the bills to them. I called Property Hunters, asking them to please show the bills to the tenants. I was told by Property Hunters that they decided to charge tenants more than they initially agreed to. The reason: my tenants were using utilities more than tenants in the other unit (Duplex). Property Hunters informed me that this was the way their business was run, and so I took what they said at face value. This was a mistake on my end.

After about 6 months of no bills being paid, I endeavored to retrieve the amounts owing with the assistance of a paralegal, which Property Hunters provided me with. He said that I probably wouldn’t get more than half of what was owed based on what each party agreed to.

THEY’LL CHARGE YOU AFTER OFFERING TO CANCEL A CONTRACT

When I initially spoke with Christine Hossak of Property Hunters about contracts, I asked her what would occur if I endeavored to get out of mine. Christine said it wouldn’t be a problem and implied that the process would be seamless.

NOT SO MUCH

After approximately one year of terrible record-keeping, lackluster communication, improper statements issued, and constant complaints by me, Property Hunters asked me if I'd like to find a different management company. I did just that.

In the middle of October, I let Property Hunters know that I was in the process of changing companies. I didn’t receive my October rent from them until November 15. When I did, I was shocked to learn that they subtracted additional months’ worth of management fees (for months they didn't manage my properties).

They also charged be an early termination fee of $300 per property.

I find it unprofessional that they encouraged me to find a different management company, but then held onto more than $1800 of my earnings as "early termination fees" and "management fees" that were never used
