Really impressed
I used Proportunity to get an extra loan when purchasing a house which I have now paid off. I found the process to set everything up really simple and communication between my mortgage broker and Proportunity was great.
I have since paid off the loan in a couple of instalments and each time have found communication excellent, especially when asking questions and clarifying terms. Matthew in particular went above and beyond to provide excellent customer service.
Have had a really positive experience with Proportunity!

Pros and cons
Had a loan and now repaid it.
Pros - you get a deposit boost and can afford a more expensive place. Cons - high interest rates, punitive exit fees and an equity share makes it very expensive.
Communication has been excellent throughout. But it took Proportunity a long time to extend the loan (so long the chain collapsed).
On the exit of my loan with Proportunity the valuation they insisted on was higher than what a bank was prepared to accept for a mortgage - less than ideal needing to cover that difference.
In overall, I would not use Proportunity unless that’s your only option.

Proportunity gave us the ability to buy our own home; without them no bank would lend to us. They were excellent throughout the process, even stepping in with a new broker recommendation when our original one went out of business. I can't thank them enough. Highly recommended.

Better value analysis and lower mortgage cost
Thanks to Proportunity we could access a more competitive mortgage, at the same time their property value analysis gave us additional information for putting a well thought offer.

Superb service...
I felt as though more check-ins throughout the process could have been provided considering being a first time buyer. However it was overall a smooth and great service as and when I spoke to the staff. I will be sure to recommend to everyone I know and on my youtube channel.

We are due to complete next week!!so exciting! So far the process has been really simple & straight forward & Brett has been super helpful with all the info & property searches. Our broker recommended them & did all the application & paperwork. I was abit reluctant to go ahead with Proportunity but without it just wouldn’t be possible to get the home we wanted, really helped boost our deposit, thanks guys! Affordability is based on each individual’s financial circumstances. With this in mind, some customers may find that adding a shared equity loan does not improve their overall home budget, whilst others find that their budgets are boosted by a significant amount.
Due to this, we ensure that we put our customers in touch with an independent FCA-regulated mortgage broker, who can look at their individual financial circumstances. The broker’s role is to support customers in finding a mortgage product which suits their specific financial circumstances and needs.
Proportunity’s goal is to support as many people as possible to get onto the property ladder, but unfortunately no matter how hard we try, some things are not in our control. As was with your case, based on the mortgage broker’s assessment.
We are sad to learn that we are unable to support you in your home-buying journey at this stage.

I had no idea about this company and what they can offer. My mortgage advisor recommended then as we were really struggling to get a mortgage on a nice home due to being on the shared ownership scheme for the last 20 years so not having a big enough deposit. Proportunity made it happen for us they lent us just a bit extra to make the deposit bigger allowing us to buy our dream home. They did want ALOT of details from us and it took a few months to go through which was a little stressful but everyone was very helpful and were happy to explain what was happening throughout the application. I would definitely recommend them to my friends and family.
