Unethical business

Opened new checking account and promotions bonus is denied. Someone determined I am a Non resident even though I am legal permanent resident per IRS definition for over 13 years. This Is unethical and cheap work. I have an easy option to shut this account but I would rather expose their malpractices and make them fix the process and pay the bonus that is earned

An absolute joke of a credit union

An absolute joke of a credit union. Most other dealers I've spoke with as well, dislike them even more. Known as the "necessary evil" in the industry.

Their programs need special calculators to avoid going out of their guidelines. Impossible to help customers with backend options as minor changes can tweak the rate in 4 different directions causing funding issues and recontacting.

Highly encourage all dealers to avoid them

Errors on cashed checks

My husband and I both had a check posting error on our statements. Only part of the check number was showing. There have been frequent days where the system was unavailable due to "routine maintenance." Their switch to digital (and AI) is a failure.

Do not finance with this bank. They charge undue fees

This credit union is awful. Unless you have plenty of time to spend on the phone with them to dispute chronic and undue charges, i would strongly advise against choosing them as your lender. They have billed me for collateral insurance monthly, which is already on my insurance policy. Documentation was provided to them prior to my completed purchase, wednesday and I am on the phone with them.At least twice a month, continuing to provide the same documentation. I have yet to be refundered.Several hundreds of dollars in continue to receive the same notificatio that my policy is lacking collateral coverage. I will be refinancing my car as soon as possible.

I have 10 Credit union memberships

My credit score is only around 650 with 76% utilization and they approved me for membership and a $2000 CC and a $10,000 personal loan when my other credit unions would not extend any credit except a $2000 quick loan. Their interest rates are low and I plan on using them as my main bank, including 2 direct deposits. Right now they have a $300 sign up bonus for new members. A SUB for their Visa too. Everything is online, they only have 1 physical store. I connected all my bank accounts and no problems transferring money or paying bills. When my credit report updates I hope to get my CC increased to the 20k max. Auto loan sometime in the future. I live in San Bernardino, CA.

In all of my life I have never…

In all of my life I have never experienced a company that actually makes it hard for their customers to pay their loans. One example, they only give you a partial account number. When trying to access your loan online, you need the account number. Without it, you are locked out and can only call in. Today for example I needed to speak with a specific department. "I'm sorry sir. No one is available." They make difficult for you to pay your loan! How utterly stupid. These people are extremely unreasonable. Don't finance with these losers. No wonder their Trustpilot rating is SO LOW! Wished that I had checked here first.

Do not use Pa Credit Union

Do not use Pa. credit Union as they only make excuses and do not care about their customers.

To make a long story short, I use a service that allows me to make two payments a month to the credit union for my car loan. This service which was recommended by the car dealership as supposedly they work side by side together with the credit union.

Knock on wood, I have yet to miss a payment in 4.5 years and actually ahead of the game by 5 months.

The company that send the credit union my monthly amount apparently stopped a payment on the check they send on my behalf. Now, the full amount was out of my account on the 27th of the month. This was a concern to me.

I called the credit union and the company (Ethos) to explain my concern and why I was upset. Before the credit union even looked into the matter or called Ethos to see what was going on, they immediately sent me a receipt stating I owe them money for a stopped check. Remember, I do not pay with checks, it comes out of my bank account twice a month.( By the way paying twice a month will soar your credit score...just an fyi.)

It was only 15 dollars but after speaking to a rep and I'm assuming a supervisor from the credit union, I realized they were not going to apologize as they felt they did nothing wrong. What you did wrong was send me a receipt saying I owe you 15 dollars. Now the Ethos company did pay the stop payment fee of 15 dollars.

They were so UNPROFESSIONAL about the whole thing, never once addressing my concern just repeatedly stating it wasn't their problem, their fault, nothing. Shame on them.

Credit Unions are usually great banks in all, but stay away from them. They only want your money and they don't care about their customers. It was so obvious! Next report, the BBB

Antiquated institution

Absolute antiquated company! The only bill i have that I have to call and pay every month. If you don't have a bank account with them you have to write them a check and cancel it or transfer funds from your account to their account every month. Just absolute shit show! I will never do business with them again never!!!

If you're looking for a financial…

If you're looking for a financial institution that offers personal service, go elsewhere. Tried to apply for a re-finance on an auto loan to get local people. They made it such a hassle that I went elsewhere! One person told me one thing and was very friendly and knowledgeable; the other a total miserable, combative woman who told me totally different. Asked for confirmation that they had received the documents I sent and what my next step was, they emailed me . . . AFTER I sent them a message through their system instead of the call requested. Their rates are Ok, but not worth what they put you through. They need a HUGE dose of reality . . . there are plenty of places that want your business . . . and this is a credit union . . . supposedly driven by membership . . . spare yourself!!

Do not trust this bank

Do not trust this bank! I have been with this bank since 2000, when I first started employment with the state. For years, I felt like this bank turned down everything I applied for, yet my friends with lower credit would always be approved. However, I stayed because it was convenient. Recently, I received a check from a family member that was returned. I covered the check from my own money immediately. Well, I went to use my mobile banking, and I was locked out of my account, so I called PSECU. I got a very rude and unpleasant representative who told me the bank has canceled my mobile banking and all ATM deposits because a year ago the same thing happened, and I was "counseled" about it. Two checks written to me from another party were returned in a year, and I was punished as if I wrote the checks myself. I also covered those checks immediately. Yet, this has not happened to other people I know who have been in the same situation. It's like they don't like me or people like me. Also, when I asked to speak with a manager, they put me through to voicemail, and they never called me back. A few weeks later, I called in again. This time the manager got on the line with a confrontational attitude. He was rude, disrespectful, and kept talking over me. He also stated a manager doesn't have to call you back if they determine your call is not relevant or important. I notice PSECU's level of customer service is the worst I've ever dealt with at a bank. Needless to say, I'm done after 20+ years of banking here. I'm going to a military credit union. Be cautious of this awful bank... better yet, don't even join this distasteful, discriminatory, and dishonest bank. Yes, they lie too!

They’ve gone woke

In the beginning of the month PSECU folks posted about Pride month on Facebook. I commented on that post, telling them they should just focus on banking. Since then they have frozen my deposits and increased the maturity date of a certificate I invested in. I believe these folks have become the dangerous SJWs. I have lost trust in them. I never overdraft or am late on payments. I apparently offended someone at this bank and have to be corrected by money management.

Created a promotion called “find the right note.”
The terms are very confusing . Then if sign up in the middle of the month it’s more difficult to meet the requirements. I tried to talk to someone but kept getting kicked off the chat,
Then the manager got “disconnected “
I will never refer anyone and I’m closing my acct. these people are scammers

Moving downhill fast enough for me to bail…

I have been a member of PSECU since the mid-90s. This credit union has slowly but surely been declining in customer and banking services. One of the only reasons I ever stuck with them was because of their low auto loan rates. So this is a credit union that doesn't have to abide by the same rules and regulations as a bank and yet it has the same current interest rates as banks do... And in some cases, higher. So why does a credit union, which lowers its customer service capabilities, have the same loan rates as a bank while being customer-owned? The only benefit you're getting from this credit union is free checking. You can't earn any interest worth mentioning on a savings account. I'm currently getting 4.4% interest on my savings at another bank while PSECU gives you 0.5%. So all of the money this credit union is making is being spent on itself instead of its customers/members.

Take a look at their Form 990 for 2022… Over $6.2 million per year on officer salaries? Over $1.2 million a year on officer compensation? Who has been doing the voting for officers and their salaries... The officers themselves? This is starting to sound a lot like Congress voting for their own pay raises while pretending they work FOR the American people. I've already transferred all of my accounts to another institution and aggressively paid off my new truck loan in six months just so I could leave. Goodbye PSECU!

They are impossible to get ahold of

They are impossible to get ahold of. Their representatives don't listen to you when you talk. They transfer you around different departments. They send everything by fax/mail and refuse to email anything to you. I am trying to file a gap claim and they could not have made this process any more difficult for me

What Happened to PSECU?

Twelve years ago after moving to Pennsylvania, I opened an account with PSECU. It was a seamless process and interaction by phone was rare, but always pleasant. It was my first encounter with a credit union following years of offensive relation ships with banks.
At-home banking was also a surprise as the platform was well-designed, self-intuitive and reflected PSECU's concerns about security and customer confidence.
Around two years ago, things began to change and very much for the worse. Interaction with PSECU by telephone became a game of chance in that my experience varied greatly among PSECU associates. In other words, some associates were borderline rude, others with long-time familiar voices were extremely helpful. However, it became rare that I got to speak with a seasoned Associate.
Additionally, the home banking platform was killed off and customers were forced into a new version that had fewer helpful features, was buggy (a lot fixed) and not so self-intuitive. It's also just plain ugly. The worst part is the Bill Payer section and after months of suggestions and complaints, there has been little response, most of it "boilerplate," saying nothing.
All-in-all, PSECU has become more like a bank, offering a cold shoulder to complaints or suggestions. Some PSECU Associates have said that it's a different world inside the organization with an attitude change dating back to new management.
I have no experience with other credit unions. I'm just sooo sorry that PSECU is no longer trustworthy and it certainly doesn't inspire confidence.

Many thanks to Mary at PSECU Credit…

Many thanks to Mary at PSECU Credit Union Credit Card Services. I am fortunate that as my bank representative, she advocated for me for and successfully resolved my dispute with Getaroom.com Unlike countless others on TrustPilot and other review sites who recounted how they were "spoofed" "scammed" and fell victims of "fraud" by Getaroom.com, I received a full refund. I re-booked my room directly with the Comfort Inn and am now paying the rate published on the official Comfort Inn website. I also have the right to the hotel’s official cancellation policy which is until 4pm the day of arrival for a full refund. My experience may or may not have been what happened to countless others who indicated that their transactions were "hijacked" and diverted to a cloned website exactly resembling that of the hotel. Or maybe as others suggest, Getaroom.com without your knowledge or consent inserts itself into what otherwise appears to be a transaction directly with your hotel. Whether Getaroom’s alleged unethical practices are illegal is up to (your/my) State Attorney General’s Office to decide.
Thanks again to Mary and the Pennsylvania State Employees Credit Union for their 5 Star Service!
