I’ve been attending Sion’s Strength and…
I’ve been attending Sion’s Strength and Cycle classes at PureGym and honestly, they are some of the best sessions I’ve ever done. Sion is incredibly approachable, knowledgeable, and friendly — he makes everyone feel welcome from the moment they walk into the studio.
His Strength and Cycle classes are always well-structured, challenging, and motivating. He explains everything clearly, keeps the energy high, and makes sure everyone is working safely and effectively. No matter how tough the workout is, you always leave feeling amazing and accomplished.
His recent charity spin event was a huge success as well — such a great atmosphere and for a brilliant cause. It really shows the effort and passion he puts into building a supportive fitness community.
If I could make one small suggestion, it would be for future spin classes to be 45 minutes instead of 30 mins.
Highly recommend Sion’s classes to anyone looking to get stronger, fitter, and feel great while doing it.

It’s great to hear such positive feedback regarding one of our PT's and how they have made a positive impact on your fitness journey so far. Great price for what you get and plenty of room. Hurry up and change the batteries in the rowers though. Lol.

Accessible and welcoming gym
Very easy process to sign up. I am visually impaired and with a guide dog so I signed up a few weeks early and messaged the gym to arrange a disability induction. Armando responded very promptly and he was very helpful and thorough and suggested the best times to attend that are less busy and made sure I knew where everything was. I have felt very welcome to date and have been enjoying my membership so much so I have upgraded to Plus already. I chose this gym as the location is perfect for public transport meaning I no longer have a 20-30 minute walk home after a session meaning I can exercise properly without holding back.

Amazing experience
I had a good time on my first day in the gym it was cool nice and very peaceful.

The gyms are great
The gyms are great, basic but great as the price is so competitive you feel like it is real value for money.

i am livid!!
i am livid!!! i have froze my membership, did not get an email saying its been “unfrozen” and they keep taking money out of my bank. i’m only in college i have got no money left!!!!!! i was not aware of any of this i tried to phone them but apparently “they don’t take phone calls”. Absolutely JOKE

What has happened to this place recently!!
Understand the PureGym is a budget friendly gym but come on, what is happening recently with this place…
1. PureGym no longer play licensed music, how can the biggest gym company in the UK not be willing to pay a music licence. Baffling.
2. The air conditioning seems to be no existent, the weather outside isn’t even warm yet but feels like a sauna in this place recently. Can PureGym no longer afford to turn the air con on here?
3. General cleanliness - never been great here to be honest. Male toilets are always disgusting and it’s your lucky day if they have hand soap.
4. Water fountains are either broken of absolutely filthy too.
Been going to PureGym for 4-5 years now. Genuinely thinking of trying out somewhere new as I can’t see this place getting better anytime soon. Disappointing

We provide all of our teams with bespoke music platforms created just for fitness classes which provide a wide range of motivating music specific to each class type PureGym offers.
We have recently made slight changes to this area, looking at improving energy efficiency. This is both to control our energy usage, but also with a look to reduce our carbon footprint. By law, we have a requirement to provide a certain amount of fresh air based on occupancy levels, and our ventilation system increases and decreases at different times throughout the day and night, making sure we meet these requirements and provide good air movement around the gyms. These levels are based on size of the gym, and occupancy levels, and are regularly monitored.
All member feedback is reviewed, and brought to the attention of our Facilities team, who regularly review any changes we make to our gym facilities and all feedback is taken into account when making any future changes.

Half the showers out of order again
No soap in male changing room so assume every weight and cardio machine will be positive for coliforms so bring hand sanitiser as gym removed it a long time ago
Only 1 toilet with toilet paper
Half eaten food left in sole use entrance way there for over 24hrs

The team also clean every piece of kit and surface throughout the day, from dumbbells to treadmills and everything in between, so you can train with confidence.
We've also installed new self-cleaning stations so you can clean your kit before and after use, for added peace of mind. Cleaning stations are located in all key areas of the gym to make it as easy as possible. Thanks, PureGym.
Staff at PureGym Central are a joke
Staff at PureGym Central are a joke. No one wants to help out all they want to do is train themselves when they should be working and helping those who are in need of help. I have been stuck outside for over an hour at one point when Staff kept looking at me and waving, but no one attended to me When eventually I did manage to get in. I told Staff all they did was shrug their shoulders and make excuses. The whole gym is unmanned most of the times which is not safe due to health and safety. They should be at least one person that is not happening.

Prices increased and equipment I use regularly removed.
Been with pure gym for around 7-8 years because it’s convenient with 24hr access, reasonably priced and has a decent amount of equipment. However they have now removed the thick, smooth mats that used to be in the stretching/weights areas by the windows and around the corner from changing rooms. These were perfect for me for stretching as I’ve been working on front and box splits and can slide my feet easily with my socks on. The other mats have too much grip and the floor in these areas is also rubber, so I can’t slide. Now I have to try and find a spot on the carpet where I’m able to work on these stretches, not the easiest as the only place I could find somewhat out of the way was partly blocking one of the staff doors. Also gym price has recently increased, now when there is less equipment for me to use. Also upgraded to the plus membership for a short amount of time but found that the only useful perk for me was the water machine. An option for just the water upgrade would be great or perhaps a reward for long term customers? as all the perks and offers seem to be for new customers only. Could save some money sometimes by cancelling and rejoining when these offers are on, if it wasn’t for the fact I would have to change my code and key fob.

We always aim to provide a broad spread of kit to cater to a range of fitness needs and meet demand as it changes through the day, getting the balance right between weights and cardio, but if you have any other/specific suggestions please approach the Gym Manager or leave a note in the feedback box, which is regularly reviewed.
Regarding the point on pricing, from time to time it is necessary for us to increase membership prices in line with increasing maintenance costs and other overheads.
