Good gym
Good gym, not too noisy at off peak times. New equipment with no waiting times. Very clean as well. A couple of points though. I know PureGym would prefer that you showered at home but that’s not always possible. I find the water temperature very cold though. I’m sure their reply is that it’s centrally controlled but surely there is a way the temperature could be raised by a few degrees particularly in the winter months. The second point is to do with cost. The cheapest subscription is £27.99 which is £10 a month more expensive than Lisburn Laganbank which is only 20 miles away. I’m not sure why the difference in price should be so great but I’m hoping Craigavon PureGym will offer an off peak membership option next year.

Prices vary between gyms because each site has different rents, facilities, staff and more, however we do our very best to ensure that our prices are affordable because we believe everyone should have the chance to experience the gym. Whilst there have not been concerns on shower temperatures flagged during the monthly temperature checks, this will be looked into and if you do have further concerns following this, we would ask that you let your gym manager know by approaching them in gym, or contacting via email, so they can look into the concern! Good, but lack of AC kills it.
Gonna be honest, the lack of AC really makes me not want to work out here which is a shame. Especially from 9PM onwards its like a sauna and its just unbearable during the summer weather. It was fine during the winter months but the past few months just havent been it imo. hopefully something changes.

We have recently made slight changes to this area, looking at improving energy efficiency. This is both to control our energy usage, but also with a look to reduce our carbon footprint. By law, we have a requirement to provide a certain amount of fresh air based on occupancy levels, and our ventilation system increases and decreases at different times throughout the day and night, making sure we meet these requirements and provide good air movement around the gyms.
These levels are based on size of the gym, and occupancy levels, and are regularly monitored.
All member feedback is reviewed, and brought to the attention of our Facilities team, who regularly review any changes we make to our gym facilities and all feedback is taken into account when making any future changes.
However, if you believe there may be an issue, please speak to a member of the gym team who will be able to assist further with this.

Sensory Overload too much Noise with different classes on
The sensory overload of gym background music at a high volume combined with a circuit training class at an even higher volume is ridiculous.
I mentioned same to the class instructor and she basically blanked me, as the Class had started. I felt fairly certain the music then went a decibel up again even though I mentioned the sensory overload.
NO consideration for individuals not wanting loud music (9am Sunday)or how they might feel, if loud music and different artists simultaneously is being pumped out at high volume .
Hence the one star review today.

We're sorry to hear you have some concerns with regards to the volume of the music in the gym.
In the gym, we must adhere to Health & Safety guidelines as specified by HSE, as to the appropriate volume at which we play our music and our members are taken into consideration at all times when choosing the appropriate volume.
We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused by this. Staff should undertake regular volume checks for the safety and comfort of our members, but if you approach the Gym Manager with more info they can look into this for you.

Overall fairly good gym
Overall fairly good gym, got majority of the equipment you need and not too busy usually besides usual peak times. However the one massive issue is the air con, it never seems to be on during unstaffed hours especially weekend nights and it's almost unbearable at times. I've been going since it opened and thats by far the main issue especially with the weather getting hotter during evenings.

Additional fees for previously similar free class
Weekend classes such as “Mind” seems to have now been replaced by “Yoga” which carries an additional fee of £4 for very much the same work out. “Mind” is available at other times however not suitable for those who are perhaps working full time or have child care needs. Can’t understand this change, other than it being extra revenue for them.

The location is terrible no windows on treadmills just a brick wall.

I went with a friend as her buddy. The only thing putting me off at the minute is the registration fee as no other gyms asking for it so I am still undecided.

Joining fees are applied to cover the initial administration costs associated with setting up a new membership and direct debit agreement.
A joining fee would be applicable in these circumstances unless there is an active promotion available; which are regularly updated via our website.

Good gym but needs improvement
Overall the experience is good. I still feel the gym lacks equipments for doing legs and for performing back workouts. The air conditioner at the gym during the unstaffed hours is really chilling which in my opinion should be regulated properly. Gym needs to have more of short bars for doing bicep curls etc..

Temperatures/air con in our gyms are automatically regulated by Smart machines, but if there is a persistent issue staff may be able to override it and can certainly report it to be checked by engineers. Excellent variety of equipment. Staff are very helpful & informative. To improve on the variety of equipment etc I would suggest installing a sauna & cold bath

The gym is brilliant, new machines etc but it’s very cold comparing to the other gym I went before.
