I just wanted to give a shout out to Matthew one of the trainers currently taking the Lift class on Tues am. His classes are varied/detailed and he ensures proper warms up/cool down (which I have to say not all trainers do). He also makes a point of getting to know names of people in his class. Definitely a cut above the rest and deserves recognition.
PureGym’s app advertised a “free visit” to Vision Space optical center. When I went, I was charged £30 because the free visit was only valid if you bought glasses costing £50. This is misleading and dishonest.
The gym itself is no better. Staff are rude, unhelpful, and provide zero support. Asking for assistance is pointless – they simply ignore you or refuse to help.
Do not waste your time or money here.

Since joining the membership and the gym has been very up and down. I joined and within a few weeks the gym was half closed for reburbishments, however not once did i get an email telling me of this. There were posters about saying it would be happening soon but no date information and any communaction I did get was very last minute or even after the fact. No compensation was offrered for this time lost/cancelled classes and the refurbishments were very minimal for the time it took.
I have recently been sick so had to cancel some classes, rather last minute as they were morning classes, instead of heading in and coughing on people and spreading germs and now I am being blocked from the app and classes ( the classes I book in the morning are never full and no one is on the wait list ) which I think is unfair. Hopefully the gym can improve its communication and have more understanding as we come into winter that people may need to cancel rather than spread germs in the gym.

Price was good. But the gym itself was cold and unwelcoming. I attended twice, then cancelled.

The hand dryer in the men’s changing area was too low ?
The gym is good but it’s spread out over a couple of warehouse structures and some of the equipment seems dated and somewhat disjointed in relationship to the other equipment surrounding them. Also there’s no sauna!

This is more about membership services than the gym itself. The gym is currently going through a refurb, there was no warning and no timeframe given. Some members reached out and were given discounts for the inconvience, others were told they wouldn’t be extended the same courtesy because it was against the T&C. The messages I got back and forth said I could go to the next nearest gym (an hour away) or put my membership on freeze (meaning access to no gyms). It’s not a case of they can’t but a case that they won’t.
It’s just incredibly poor customer service which affects their customers wallets, while acting like access to inaccessible gyms is a benefit. Awful treatment. Forget about going here, Snap fitness offer a free trial.

I tried puregym in December 2023, due to my circumstances I had to cancel the membership as I no longer could attend the gym. Even though on a pay as you go membership they continued to take another 15 months worth of fees and refused to refund when I realised. Terrible experience.

Overall a good experience, however, some of the equipment (exercise bikes, Cross Trainer) have seen better days and are corroded and did not run smoothly. Also, the showers are very poor - water pressure is low and the temperature is just above cold!

The dumbell and free weight section is good. However there is a woeful lack resistance machines. For such a large gym, 1 or 2 peices of equiptment for a lot of the machines is shockingly bad.
The lay out of the gym also unfortunately a not great. As an example of the leg press machine is in use... With a cue(which has happend more than once to me) you have to walk through the, functional area, past the CV area, past a studio, past the changing rooms, past the front doors, to the plate loaded leg press machine... To find that also on use. I then have to walk all the way back to where I started to try and piece togther alternative options for my work out.
Don't get me wrong it's first world problems but it's super annoying and the first gym I've had this problem in... I train at at 5.30am so it shouldn't be a problems that time. It's just very dissapointing.
I used to use the Gym frequently but on rejoining recently I noticed quite a large reduction in the number of treadmills. At peak time there are not enough. There now seems to be more weight facilties than cardio equipment.
I like how useful the app is and how the gyms look and feel and I’m happy to have found the gyms to be clean and safe but if there was anything I could say it’s the staff seem to hide away when you have an issue or question to ask them as a new gym user. I’ve had the get started induction but afterwards your expected to know everything you need to know and get on with it and the staff don’t feel very approachable to be honest. The managers are more than happy to assist but everyone else hides away.

Has been cold inside the gym. No paper towels or sanitiser near the treadmills which is a high intense activity area.

Everything seemed simple enough and yet when I tried to process payment I couldn't find the box to insert the discount code and then I was charged the full joining fee and first month payment. A bit disappointed to say the least.
