Yoga class
Love this gym ,Im a classes goer and strongly recommend Nicola and her yoga classes .I do a sedatory job /lots of driving /lifting and have lots of aches and pains .My weekly visit to Nicola's yoga relieves all my stresses and resets me .Thankyou Nicola and puregym ,class weds 7.30-8.15 .

Been with the gym a few years now
Been with the gym a few years now, all the staff are amazing and helpful. Strength, Metcon and Combat are my go to classes and I love them!
I had a baby last year, so when I came back to the gym I asked Immy to help me get back into it and have continued the sessions as I now can't go to the gym as much as before. And my god does Immy make sure I get the most of of our sessions! She really helps push me where I wouldn't if I was to go on my own, and the constant laughs are an added bonus! Definitely a 10/10 PT.

Very grateful of the great classes
I’ve been a member for a few years but I’ve recently (and finally) developed a passion for fitness during this mid-summer period and I’m very hooked on Pure Gym Portishead!
For most of my life I’ve had a lot of anxiety in the gym environment, creating a lack of motivation to make the most of a gym membership for many years , but thankfully the PG Portishead classes and gym instructors have really helped remove some internal barriers and helped start my fitness journey. The team bring a lot of knowledge and confidence to make every minute worth the monthly membership
Tayla’s classes always bring great challenge and help push to new limits, George’s Saturday morning lift/ core class sets you up for the weekend (definitely my week’s highlight). Ciara has great energy and variety in her routines, and Mel’s body pump class on Tuesday is always popular and for good reason. All staff are brilliant
I can’t comment on the equipment/ gym facilities as I’m not currently using them, but it seems to be very clean and plenty of space. Also there’s nice members/ banter and it feels like a nice place to be all round. I’m Feeling more confident in myself and I’m excited to see where it goes, so I’m very grateful to have taken these first steps, thank you!

I’ve been in and ouPureGym Portishead & the glorious chaos that is Immyt of gyms since my…
I’ve been in and out of gyms since my teens, but honestly, they’ve never been my happy place. Fast forward to my late 40s, I had to give up one passion for health reasons and thought I’d give PureGym Portishead a go. Signed up, went a bit, fell into a rut… you know the drill.
Then along came Immy. And suddenly there’s no hiding at the back pretending to “stretch” — she’ll find you. Loud, bubbly, always in pink, and fuelled by what I can only assume is an endless supply of coffee and sheer chaos, she somehow makes an hour of pain feel like fun.
She’s part motivator, part drill sergeant, part stand-up comedian — and honestly, the best thing that’s ever happened to my gym routine. I now look forward to my weekly torture session (never thought I’d say that).
So if you want results, laughs, and to be shouted at with a smile — Immy’s your person. Just don’t expect to sneak out quietly… it’s not happening.

Blocked toilet. Level of music was very loud,
only one toilet in the male changing room which was Blocked

We can confirm that when made aware of this, staff in gym were able to return the facility to full working order in a 2 hour turn around time. They will continue to monitor issues and report them accordingly to our facilities team. Staff should undertake regular volume checks for the safety and comfort of our members, but if you approach the Gym Manager with more info they can look into this. Thanks, PureGym

Pure Gym Portishead
First time going. Paid just a day rate. Really large gym, lots of selection of different machines to suit everyone’s needs. Easy to use the app and to enter the gym.Lovely and clean. Thinking about doing a monthly membership now to suit my needs.

Good. But are a few down points
The gym is very clean
Music is often turned down to you cannot hear it, and I dont think I should have to ask for it to be turned up.
There is a problem of availability to equipment, especially during 2.15 to 4pm. I try to avoid these times. During this time there are many members sitting on equipment and a spending a number of breaks 5 to 10 mins on the phone even on Saturday and Sunday? This means I cannot use some equipment as there is only one of that type.

Nice gym, make sure you validate parking!
I made the change from an everyone active GYM so looked for another local gym. I was attracted to Pure Gym for the 24hr access.
Firstly I decided I wanted to see the gym before joining, and this was not easy, every time I tried I seemed to hit a point when staff were teaching classes or when the gym was unmanned. After 5 visits I finally got in to look around and signed up that day for the standard package. This allows me access when I want to the Gym local to me.
The staff are friendly and I have been a happy member for approx 18months. The gym has everything you need from cardio, weight machines and free weights. Not once have I been and not been able to get on a piece of equipment which has made my progress a lot easier.
PARKING - so be aware of parking restrictions at this site. You can park free for 2.5hrs normally, and the gym has a parking validation system. The only thing thats not clear is if you go to the gym really early this is counted as overnight and so you can get stung by praking fines - this last month cost me £270.00 in fines because I didn't realiise it counted as overnight parking! So now I validate even if I am there for 20mins!
Great gym, nice atmosphere and I feel fitter too!
