Thank you for your feedback. We want to assure you that Quick-Plates is not a scammer— we’re a DVLA-registered supplier and fully compliant with UK regulations. We only require two standard pieces of information:
1. Proof of vehicle entitlement (V5C logbook)
2. Valid photo ID (driving licence )

These checks are legally mandated to prevent fraud, and despite being a simple two-step process, we’ve smoothly supplied hundreds of thousands of plates. As soon as we receive those items, your plates are manufactured and dispatched without delay.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I’m very sorry to hear about the frustration you’ve encountered. Under UK law—specifically DVLA regulations and British Standard BSAU 145e—we are legally required to verify both the vehicle’s registration entitlement and the purchaser’s identity before dispatching any number plates. That means we can only accept officially recognized documents (for example, a V5C logbook, valid driving licence etc.).

I appreciate that gathering paperwork can feel burdensome, but these checks are not optional—they’re mandated to ensure every plate we supply is fully road-legal. Once we have the correct documentation, we aim for same-day dispatch.

We categorically deny any suggestion that Quick-Plates is a “scam.” Here are the facts:
• Order & Payment: You placed your order on 26/06/2025 and paid £32.51 for special delivery.
• Documentation & Processing: We confirmed that we have yet to receive receipt of your legally required proof of ownership and identity.
• Email Communications: Between 10th and 11th July you and our team exchanged six emails—we answered every query, confirmed that your plates were manufactured, and arranged for you to collect them. We have also answered your emails from this morning too. We know you have received these emails as you have replied to them.
• Current Status: As agreed in those emails, your order is complete and waiting for you to pick up. No plates have been dispatched because you chose to collect rather than home delivery.

We take every review seriously and pride ourselves on clear, prompt communication. We’re fully compliant with DVLA regulations, and our customer records show no unanswered messages on our side.

We’re sorry you feel this way, but as a legally registered number plate supplier, we are required by law to request valid identification and proof of entitlement before producing any plates. This is not our policy—it’s a legal obligation that all compliant plate manufacturers must follow.

While some sellers on platforms like Amazon may bypass these checks, that does not make those plates legal. In fact, many of them are not road legal and could result in fines or MOT failures.

We also clearly inform customers that once plates have been made, cancellation incurs a fee, as custom items cannot be reused or resold.

We remain committed to providing fully legal, high-quality number plates with fast turnaround, while following DVLA regulations to protect all road users.

Thanks for your feedback, and we’re genuinely sorry to hear about your experience. While you selected our budget non-tracked option, we understand the frustration with Royal Mail delays – unfortunately, this is outside of our control once dispatched. We always recommend the Tracked 24 or Next Day option for time-sensitive orders, as mentioned during checkout.

As for the phone call, we sincerely apologise if our team member came across as irritated. We appreciate that everyone’s at a different stage of understanding the process, and we should always aim to be patient and helpful.

We respond to every email we receive, and we have no record of being unresponsive in this case. If your daughter placed two separate orders, two payments would have been processed. If one of those was made in error, we always offer to cancel in line with our terms — which include a small cancellation fee once production has started, as clearly stated on our website.

We understand it can be frustrating, but we are a transparent, DVLA-registered business and would never “rip off” a customer. We’re always available to resolve any issues fairly when approached directly.

Lastly, we don’t think it’s right or fair to wish job losses on anyone. Our team works hard to deliver a legal, compliant, and efficient service every day — and we’re proud of the work they do.

We never ignore our customers — if you’ve contacted us, we will have responded. Once we confirm that your documents have been approved and your plates have been dispatched, that means they have physically left our premises. We have absolutely no reason to delay or mislead customers — it serves neither you nor us.

Unfortunately, once an item is handed to Royal Mail, we are reliant on their delivery network. As advised, we did raise an enquiry with them when your tracking showed a delay, which is the correct process. In most cases, Royal Mail resolves these quickly, but delays do occasionally happen, and they are beyond our control.

We’re sorry to hear you chose to go elsewhere, but calling us a scam is not only false — it’s unfair. We are a DVLA-registered number plate supplier, and we operate within strict legal guidelines. If a refund was due, it would be processed in line with our terms. If there’s any outstanding matter, we encourage you to contact us directly so we can resolve it properly.
