The next day, references etc. was done and we were confirmed as the successful tenants. No BS, no long stories, straight up business done properly.
Jamie Cooper from the team in Tauranga has been exceptional. His communication is second to none and through he we managed to find a more than adequate living space for the family.
If you're the type who is big on communication, and loves a seamless process, I would highly recommend getting in touch with Jamie at Quinovic Property Management in Tauranga.

Avoid renting with Quinovic at ALL COSTS. They will take advantage of you and screw you over BIG TIME. I have never felt so angry before I realised I was living in a property owned by the complete villains that are the property managers they employ. They will do and have done everything in their power to ensure you walk away with less money, and they walk away with it in their pocket to go on ANOTHER HOLIDAY!!!! I've not been able to reach my property managers multiple times because theyre on holiday. My flat is falling to pieces but no no, if your home is "unclean" rest assured, you won't hear the end of it. I've learnt my lesson, Quinovic should go out of business. Or get sued. Either way, stay away at all costs.

I have been working with the Quinovic Whangarei branch. I went to live and work in Auckland so was nervous to be away from the area and my only asset, my home. First I worked with Andrea and then when her caseload got too big there was a seamless handover to Sonia. Both agents have demonstrated amazing communication skills. Both have demonstrated attentive, supportive care, particularly when more recently my financial situation changed. They provided prompt and professional suggestions. The property was immaculately maintained and I was super impressed and relieved to get the detailed reports. I was happy leave it in their capable and expert hands. It has been 2.5 years now and the whole (ongoing) experience has been so positive. I 100% know I have chosen the right Agency and people to work with. Thank you, thank you, thank you and keep up the good work for both landlords and tenants. Wendy.

Avoid avoid avoid. The mt Eden branch lie about your rent payments. Always auto pay because they will try to claim "oh, you missed a payment conveniently, 8 months ago." Bunch of bloody thieving scum, bottom feeders, the lot of them. I have the paper work and bank records for proof. They also forced us to extreme lengths to claim our bond.
I'm very low impulse, and I've had to force myself to not pay a visit.

They allowed tenants to change without informing us of who the new occupants were, and they also permitted additional people to move in without our knowledge. Their routine inspection reports were poorly done as well. The kitchen floor had been deteriorating for nine months, yet they reported it as being in good condition. As a result, we now have to replace the entire kitchen floor. They claimed that this is a design issue.

Quinovic Takapuna are pure evil

A tenant was assaulted in one of their properties. They immediately asked to terminate the tenancy (as was their right under the law), but Quinovic ignored their obligations, leading to the tenant having to continue living in the property for several more weeks.
The head of Quinovic knows about this but does not care.

Terrible Driving Etiquette
I was driving in Wellington (at over 5kmh below the speed limit), coming out of the Mt Vic tunnel, when a Quinovic-branded car pulled out in front of me extremely dangerously. After braking heavily and swerving to avoid the car, I quite fairly applied the horn. Imagine my surprise when the driver gave me the middle finger out of her window! Extremely unprofessional. The worst possible first impression, given I've never used this company before.

I’ve had an extremely disappointing experience with Quinovic (Mount Maunganui office) as a tenant.
In the past few months, I’ve faced two separate incidents of unauthorised access to my rental. The most recent occurred during a confidential work meeting, when Quinovic staff and strangers entered my home 35 minutes earlier than the scheduled property viewing — completely without permission.
Despite confirming the viewing time in writing, their team arrived early, entered without notice, and remained in my home talking in the kitchen. This was disruptive, unprofessional, and a direct breach of the Residential Tenancies Act, which protects tenants' right to peace, privacy, and quiet enjoyment.
To make matters worse, I was told — in my own home — that they “want to help me move out earlier” than my agreed lease end date. No such agreement exists. It felt coercive and manipulative.
These issues follow an earlier incident where a contractor arrived unannounced. It’s clear there is a pattern of disrespect for tenant boundaries and legal obligations. Communication is inconsistent, and there appears to be little regard for the stress or disruption caused by these repeated breaches.
Tenants deserve better. If you're considering renting through Quinovic, be aware that you may have to enforce your basic legal rights yourself.

After renting a quinovic property in new Plymouth for 3 1/2 yrs a new agent took over did 1 house inspection, then BOOM a 14day 6 page long breach, and then BOOM given 90 days notice to be invected. I'm a single dad with bad ling condition but the property always kept mint! If I can't get these things done in 14 days then a 21 day inviction will be issued!! Took 6months to fix a big hole in hallway 6months to fix shower probably to use replaced rat infected oven with same 1 so that got biffed straight out out, QUINOVIC property management new Plymouth is absolutely EVIL!! They have no consciousness at all about the welfare of ur family your kids just don't give a shit!!!

HORRIBLE NEIGHBOURS
I am writing to address an ongoing issue with the tenants who are currently under Quinovic Botany management staff named Tony smith, as well as to express my concerns about the lack of adequate action taken by the agency.
We, the owners have previously lodged few complaints regarding the inappropriate parking habits of the tenants . Their improper parking has consistently caused significant inconvenience and difficulty for us in accessing and parking our own vehicle. Despite bringing this issue to agency's attention on several occasions, including 21st March 2025, no effective action has been taken to resolve the situation. I was even advised by Quinovic office to approach the tenants directly to address the matter myself, which is an inappropriate response given the circumstances.
However, the situation escalated significantly earlier on 21/03/25 Before I had an opportunity to speak with the tenants, I was met with an aggressive and frightening confrontation at my front door. The tenant rang the doorbell, followed by loud banging and kicking on our door. She then proceeded to shout profanities and make threats, stating that she would “smash” my Mitsubishi Outlander and puncture its tyres. Furthermore, I overheard her saying that if anyone were outside, she would “see” us. This behaviour has left my children and elderly parents feeling unsafe and distressed in our own home.
I have already reported this incident to the police, but I am also filing this formal complaint with your agency regarding the lack of action taken by the property management. I strongly believe that if the agency had properly advised the tenants that the driveway is a shared space and that they should not park inappropriately, this entire issue could have been avoided. Moreover, the ongoing lack of follow-up after previous complaints only exacerbates the situation.
Additionally, I would like to highlight that the tenants are occupying a three-bedroom townhouse with two families and several children, further compounding the issue of inappropriate parking and potential safety concerns.

I have just been given 90 days notice for no reason, except I’m pretty sure I know why yesterday I had an altercation with my narcissistic Neighbourhood, who has been bullying me for the past 3 to 4 years and have made false allegations to Quinovic.
Quinovic have then accused me of doing things I haven’t done I have been accused of having unauthorized occupants who were of course, guess in my home and every inspection they were constantly anal nit picking everything inside or outside the house that it was getting so frustrating and anxiety filled every time three months rolled by. This is the Hamilton branch.
Going back to the altercation I was cleaning out my home and my work van and of course the front door was open and of course dogs do what dogs do when they see another dog is too greet that dog this dog was not dog friendly and should have been muzzled and attacked my dog, which I found saliva on the side of his neck. I ran out as soon as I saw what had happened and called the dog back and my narcissistic neighbour thought he had the right to tell me what to do me being ADHD told him to stop being a narcissistic as*** and I believe that is what’s caused my property managers to give me notice, but they won’t tell me that they will hide behind the 90 days no cause law instead of being honest.

Quinovic Takapuna
Quinovic Takapuna owner Graeme Henderson is the most dishonest, untrustworthy and arrogant business owner in Auckland.
He deliberately flouts tenancy law, has attracted media coverage for not paying bills, and has been ordered to pay thousands of dollars in compensation to tenants.
Tenants can expect to he ignored, abused, and treated like scum.
AVOID (if possible)
I was enjoying my rental property until Quinovic took over as property managers 6months ago...my hot water cylinder was leaking that whole six months, they did nothing until last week, after I had no hot water for a few days. It has also been raining inside this whole time, every time I bring it up, they say they'll send someone out to fix the leak, but never have. It reeks of mould now because they've left the leaks so long, no doubt making the eventual repair job considerably more expensive for the owners. It looks like I'm either going to have to go to tenancy tribunal to make them do bare minimum maintenance and/or move, no doubt the flat would be empty for months (like the flat upstairs was shortly after Quinovic took over) if i move out because they're trying to charge above average rent for below average rentals with indoor rain lol
This is not everything they did poorly, it's a pattern. All of the trades people that come inside are horrified it's so poorly set up and (not)maintained
Avoid QUINOVIC J'ville at all costs
I would give Quinovic Johnsonville a 0 stars if I could. Advise for those letting or renting to do your research online before hand, we didn't do that prior to engaging them and it was a nightmare. Only found out how bad they were after doing our research and speaking with others on hindsight. Very unprofessional, very bad communication, we might as well be managing our own property. Their inspection report is a joke, things are pointed out, but nothing is done about it, no follow through. All in all the WORST COMPANY EVER we have dealt with.
Shocking experience
My husband has done some maintenance work for these people and is still waiting to get paid. They have promised 3 x to pay and he is still waiting. Unable to get hold of anyone so he will be marching onto the site and removing the property they have not paid for! If this is how they conduct their business, I would stay well clear of them!
Dodgy
This company charged me 4x the market rate for the cleaning of my apartment when a guest checked out. I looked into the cleaning company and it is owned by the same company that signed the property management agreement with me (El Amor Limited). I left them after 1x 4-week stay and switched property managers. I would avoid them at all costs.
