⭐ 1 STAR – Extremely disappointing experience – refund request completely ignored

I would give zero stars if Trustpilot allowed it.

I purchased tickets for RA Monster Events' Motorfest on 18 August, booking/ticket number #169221.

A major reason I purchased the tickets was the advertised monster truck attraction. RA Monster Events subsequently issued a customer update confirming that the monster truck remains out of action following a significant mechanical failure, with no confirmed date for its return, and that the format of the events would therefore be substantially changed.

I completely understand that mechanical failures can happen. What I find unacceptable is how my subsequent refund request has been handled.

I contacted RA Monster Events twice requesting a full refund because the event I purchased had materially changed. I have received absolutely no response to either email.

I have now had to send a third, formal request asking them to respond within 7 days.

I paid for an event based on what was advertised when I purchased my tickets. When a significant attraction is no longer available and the event is substantially changed, I believe customers should at the very least receive a proper response when they ask what their options are.

Instead, my emails have apparently been ignored.

That is not the level of customer service I would expect from an events company.

I am now keeping a complete record of the advertising, purchase confirmation, customer updates and all correspondence because I may have to escalate the matter through the appropriate consumer protection and payment-provider channels if RA Monster Events continues to ignore me.

My advice to anyone considering purchasing tickets: think very carefully and make sure you are comfortable with how you would be treated if the event changes.

At this stage, my experience has been extremely disappointing: a substantially changed event, a refund request and two unanswered emails.

I sincerely hope RA Monster Events eventually responds and resolves this properly, but based on my experience so far, I would not recommend purchasing tickets from them.

My husband booked us tickets for the upcoming Yeovil event. Email has been sent saying their monster truck is out of action, show will still go ahead but without this aspect.
Email advises to get in touch for options.
All communication is directed to Facebook, several messages sent requesting a refund and heard nothing.
After reading other reviews I would avoid at all costs.
Giving it until Tuesday then will be reporting to Trading Standards.

If I could give no stars I would! Absolutely appalling company who's events aren't what they advertise, they then offer refunds and don't follow through!! It is advertised as a "monster truck event" however no monster trucks and the compensatory discount of 50p off a ride and a "free ride on a monster truck" consists of a 2 minute ride which you had to que for more than 2 hours, during which time it broke down and overheated so the whole time we were at this shambles of an event it wasn't operational at all. Funfair rides pricing was not correctly advertised so until your child was seated on the ride there was noway of knowing the costing of it! So noway of knowing if the 50p off discounted rides was even applicable!!
Hugely expensive event for basically as "Travelling funfair"!! Don't bother wasting your hard earned money!

Don’t waste your money! Went to monster fest at market rasen to find out that there was no monster truck but only after asking one of the security. Did not receive an email saying this would be the case prior to the event. It is also basically a funfair which you then have to pay £4 per ride which adds up when you have 3 children.
The stunts were ok but once you’ve seen one bike doing jumps and wheelies you’ve seen it all. Extremely over priced for what it is and luckily I managed to purchase a discounted family ticket for £33 instead of £75!! We left after a couple of hours and went to the local ice cream parlour down the road instead which was much better!

Extremely disappointing and feel completely ripped off!

We attended this event specifically to see the monster trucks, which was the main reason we purchased tickets. Unfortunately, the monster trucks were not there.

What makes this even more disappointing is that we received no notification before attending that the monster trucks would not be appearing. Had we been told in advance, we absolutely would not have attended.

There was also no clear indication when we arrived that the advertised monster trucks were not going to be there. We therefore travelled to and paid for an event based on what was advertised, only to find that the main attraction was missing.

To make matters worse, the funfair was ridiculously overpriced, with rides costing around £4–£6 per ride.

Considering what we had already paid for the event, the additional costs made the whole experience feel incredibly poor value for money.

We left feeling extremely disappointed and completely ripped off.

We have since requested a refund, but this has been refused on the basis that we attended the event. This completely misses the point. We attended because we had not been informed beforehand that the monster trucks would not be there. Had we been told, we would never have travelled to or attended.

We are still currently trying to get our money back, despite explaining the circumstances and why we would not have attended had we been properly informed.

If a major advertised attraction is cancelled, customers should be clearly informed before they travel, giving them the opportunity to decide whether they still want to attend.

Overall, an extremely disappointing experience, poor value for money and very frustrating customer service afterwards. We would not recommend RA Monster Truck Events and will not be purchasing tickets from them again.

Booked to see Monster Trucks. Got an email from them shortly before the event saying that the monster trucks would not be there as they were broken. No refund. No answers to multi emails I sent. Complete silence and they just ignored us. Terrible customer service.

Scam company. Following all the negative feedback in the fact their monster truck motor show doesn't actually involve monster trucks (the company who actually owns the trucks has pulled out of all events from these scammers) it's been rebranded as a motor fest.

No refunds forthcoming for those who paid for a monster truck event expecting to see monster trucks at a monster truck fest (cue Jurassic park moment Jeff G).

Despite contacting in all ways possible, completely ignored. Thankfully my bank has completed a chargeback and will deal with these scammers directly. I urge anyone else without success to do the same.

Now they've deleted all comments on every Facebook post and turned comments off. No mention of the extortionate prices for food and what is essentially a fun fair in a field.

Shame on you, disappointing kids like this.

This is effectively a scam be it deliberate or not.
You pay to enter and upon arrival no one will check your ticket. Cost of entry £75 for a family ticket.

At this point you have paid to enter a fun fair that is like a typical fun fair you get free entry on. All rides are charged so they have the cheek to charge you more money when the kids want to go on a ride.
Now the main event was a guy on motorbike done a couple of wheelies wow . I’ve seen better from the local youths wizzing about.

No there is no mister truck show it’s just a field with no stage or set up so you can’t even see anything, not that there was anything to see as no monster trucks were working.

Beware don’t be fooled this is no show it’s a ruse to get you in and fleece more money out of you.

What a load of horse manure.

We have not been to the event and won't be attending since the only reason we were going is for a monster truck that won't be there, have tried to contact the organisers for a refund but have been blanked for 3 days straight, pretty laughable that they're still advertising the monster truck on the booking site even though they can't provide that, very sharp business practices..

Anyhow, I'm not going to chase them anymore, I'm doing a chargeback and if you've paid by a card that allows it then I urge you to do the same, don't reward their dishonesty..

Absolutely shocking event. We waited in the queue for over an hour, only to find out that there were no monster trucks at a monster truck event. Instead, we were left with overpriced fairground rides and very little else.

What made it even worse was that this was supposed to be a birthday day out for the children. They were incredibly excited to see the monster trucks and were understandably very upset and disappointed when there were none. It completely ruined what was meant to be a special birthday experience.

I have contacted the company several times with complaints and requests for a refund, but have received no response whatsoever. The lack of communication and customer service has been incredibly disappointing.

Overall, this was a complete waste of money and an extremely poorly organised and overpriced experience. We were left with upset children, disappointed adults and absolutely nothing like the event we were expecting. I would not recommend this company and certainly will not be attending another event.

No monster trucks, no transformers. I traveled on the 23th of August 2026 for more than 1:40h from Peterborough just to show THESE TWO ATTRACTIONS for my kids.

After waiting for more than 5 hours, we decided to ask people from the staff what time Monster Truck show would start, they unapologetically said that the Monster Trucks were broken FOR MORE THAN A MONTH!!!!

Also, all the attractions in the amusement park and food are massively overpriced.

Scammers, don't waste your time with this company. If I had the time I'd take them to small claims court!

Such a disappointment. The kids wanted to leave after a hour. Overpriced fair rides and food. No monster truck as it was broken, we wasnt told, would not recommend it at all, what a waste of money! We went to a local park and spent more time there. Absolutely rubbish

A massive disappointment and false advertising!
We turned up the parking situation was fine. We had our ticket scanned and we headed in (no mention of monster trucks not being there). Every advert I have seen makes it look like a big event with plenty to do and a fun fair on the side, this is not the case at all you could see everything from the entrance most of which was the fun fair, there was 1 small "arena" where the show was (with no monster trucks in sight). There was literally nothing for us to do the "arena" edges were that busy with people you couldn't see any of the bmx or motocross "show", all the fair rides we're £6+, we didn't go to a fun fair we went to watch monster trucks and the other "shows" they had on so had minimal cash with us with 3 kids in tow there wasn't a chance in hell I was paying that money after paying an substantial amount just to get tickets.
There was no communication at all about the monster trucks not being there (was literally the only thing the kids wanted to see). The characters that were there went from one side of a barrier stood for a few pictures and were gone again. I am still waiting for a response from their FB page. I will be contacting my bank for a charge back if there isn't a sutible resolution. We left within an hour spending £4 each on a lollipop just to stop the tears.
Overall I would describe it as a monumental disappointment, (I think that would still be true even if the monster trucks had been there) with very misleading advertisements. I will also be contacting the secretary at maket rasen racecourse so they are aware of what sort of company they are renting there event space to.

Very disappointing Birmingham event/scam

We attended RA Monster Events’ Birmingham Monster Truck Motorfest and unfortunately it fell far below what had been advertised.

The Monster Truck shows were the main reason we booked. The published schedule advertised three Slingshot Monster Truck shows, including a Grand Finale Crush Show, but none of them took place.

RA have since told me that ticket holders were contacted beforehand and given the option not to attend. I did not receive an email or any other direct notification. I have also since seen numerous other attendees saying they only found out after travelling to the venue or even when their tickets were being scanned.

Because the shows were cancelled, we queued for approximately two hours for the 'free Monster Truck ride' which is not ideal in the heat with young kids and a short ride after such a long queue was not remotely equivalent to the three advertised arena shows.

The funfair pricing was another frustration. RA advertised '50p off ALL fairground rides' and specifically told customers to show the voucher to the ride operator to receive the discount. We did this and were told by operators that the discount had already been included in the displayed prices. There was no original price displayed showing any reduction had been made, and the advertised 50p was not deducted when we showed the voucher.

We also stayed for the advertised 6pm Dolly Parton tribute. We went to the music area around 5pm specifically for it, but after a couple of songs from the artist before her the entertainment ended and the advertised performance did not take place.

I fully understand that technical problems can happen. What I find disappointing is the combination of the headline attraction being cancelled, no advance notification being received, other advertised elements not taking place, and then being told that because our tickets were scanned we are not entitled to a refund.

Don’t bother with these events. Complete rip off. It was basically an expensive fun fair with no monster trucks.
Drove over an hour thinking this would be a great day out.
We experienced stewards swearing excessively in front of small children.
We purchased 2 coffees, 2 fruit shoots, 2 cans of pop cost £26.
After some overpriced drinks, we were then hit with £10 for 2 people to walk round the worlds worst ‘fun house’.
No seating around the arena.
No monster trucks!! No explanation on the day, no prior notice via email.

Thankfully the motocross displays were good but that didn’t make up for why we went there in the first place. Ultimately we booked this day to see monster trucks and we didn’t see one, and got charged a fortune for some fair ground rides which were nothing special.

Wouldn’t book one of these again. Wouldn’t recommend it.

Attended the Market Rasen monster event on Sunday 23 Aug with 3 year old. Got there at 10am after an hour and 30 mins drive, expecting a full day out, left by 1pm. Lots of empty parking spots round us where others had clearly left early too.
Only discovered there was no monster truck show when 11am, the scheduled time, came and went and it didn't appear. Neither did the transformers characters, the two main reasons we booked. Received no prior comms about this, no on site signage or announcements either. The only reference to the monster truck no show was during the motorbike and quad bike show when that commentator said, "let's address the elephant in the room... We're all disappointed that there's no monster truck"...
£3 for 8 mins on the Blaze themed bouncy castle - a sweetener for the disappointed 3 year old. £4 for a magnum icelolly and £4 for a tub with a flake.
As others said, it's a glorified funfair, no seating provided, though it was on grass so at least people could sit down.
The BMX show duo was entertaining as were the quad and motorbike kids but only as warm up and support acts for the main event, the monster trucks. Feel hugely disappointed, like we were misled.
I don't usually leave reviews but feel compelled to after today's experience.
I agree with much of the other 1 star reviews unfortunately.

We went today, it was pretty naff for the money you pay! Non of the fair ground rides are included in entry and are around £4/£5 a go per person. £10 for cheese and bacon chips, £6.50 for ice cream with sauce and sprinkles in a pot, £4 for a cup of tea! If you do go make sure you’ve got plenty of money with you.
The best bit was the freestyler motocross riders which we saw for half an hour but fair play to them they were great!
