My god it was awful

My god it was awful! For a family ticket costing £60 I should have lowered my expectations but even then I dont think i could have lowered them enough!
Before talking about the show itself just a quick note, there was zero chairs or platforms etc to sit on, its a full day of standing or sitting on the floor so be prepared!
The show consisted of one single monster truck doing a couple of warm-up laps of the arena then driving over about 6 already smashed up cars. The truck did this 3 times and the show was over. The show was repeated 3 times that day.
There was a monster truck you can sit & ride on but its £10 per person and kids need an adult which meant for 2 kids (10 & 11 years old) to have a 5 min ride its £30. I politely declined that one.
Then there was trails motorbikes, they went up one ramp a couple of times, did a little hoppity-hop on a little platform then it was over.
The stunt bikes were a joke, 2 ramps to jump and the one biker (the wife) tried but couldnt even do a basic wheelie! The wheel barely made it 2 inches off the floor for about 1/2 a second.
There was then a bunch of bikes and quads doing laps of the area doing wheelies, the sort of thing you see teenagers doing on the street every day of the week.
The kids had the most fun watching some wrestling, although it was fun for the kids it was pretty poor.
Lets talk about prices......so £60 entry, burgers were £11 each (x4), bottle of budweiser £6 (x2), can of kopperberg £6 (x2), slush puppies £3 (x4), teddy bear game £6 (x6), Funhouse £5 (x4), Ice cream £6 (x2), 8 mins soft play £6 (x2).
If you're a monster truck or motorbike enthusiast then dont waste your time, find a better show.
If you want a budget day out then take deck chairs, drinks & food with you, just paying the entry fee and nothing else is the only way to make it worth while.

Not great on health and safety.

Not great on health and safety.
The stunt shows were mainly good but depending on where you were stood you couldn’t tell what was being said over the sound system. Also there was only one monster truck and a lot of stopping and starting during the show.
The website says you can’t take food in but lots had picnic bags and quite rightly so - the food was very overpriced and not very nice. We had Greek chicken gyros which lacked chicken and the few chips in it were horrible. It cost £14 and was not good.
The monkey world fun house was dangerous and had no health and safety systems implemented at all. There were many stressed parents holding on to their children so they didn’t fall and get hurt on the so called fun obstacle course. There were sharp metal edges sticking out, the wooden rope steps were steep and hazardous, the fences were just precariously tied on with rope to mention a few things and overall the whole thing needs closing down before there’s a fatality. At £5 per person I’m sure you are making plenty of money to get things in order.

Visited the event at Southwell…

Visited the event at Southwell racecourse. Was wary after reading the reviews but all in all it was a pretty good event. The kids loved the monster truck and the bike shows were entertaining in their own right.

Yes you do have to pay for the rides but that’s the same at most events.

The kids enjoyed watching the wrestling and the tenner to ride on a monster truck isn’t the worst value thing in the world. Not going to get that opportunity every day are you?

I think tickets worked out £14 each…pretty fair all in all.

Overpriced event

Good variety of shows and food stalls, though everything is extortionate. Children’s rides are way over priced, food looked a lot better than it tasted. There were also a number of food/drink stalls and some of the amusements stalls without any prices which I believe is illegal. Not very transparent and I think it really reflects the type of event this is.

Everyone expects to spend a fair bit of money when they go on a day out, but being blatantly ripped off just leaves a bad taste. Will not be visiting again.

Whole event is a scam. Avoid.

Whole event is a scam, you pay £70+ for a family of 4 ticket to enter a field with basic fair ground rides, portaloos which ran out of toilet roll despite the event not being busy, absolutely no shelter from the sun in 30°c heat. Each ride cost over £5 for about 3 minutes. The show itself was very basic, more noise than show. The whole ‘show’ was run to keep overhead costs down, not for family entertainment that was promised in advertisement. By 4pm the place was empty, it was too hot with nowhere to escape the heat, drinks from the bar weren’t even cold.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.
Trucks broke down and it took over an hour for them to do anything about it. Finally tge motor cycles went because it was such a mess.
They just rev their engines and drive over bumps going at an idle. I could put on a more exciting show in my ford edge.

Go to monster jam or any other event.

Its so bad. We left at intermission and got ice cream at dairy queen. 10/10 stars.

All out monster trucks... -20/10.

Great day out for all ages

Great day out for all ages. We loved the monster trucks, the stunt bikes were great. There was a nice selection of food stalls, hog roast, hot dogs to cone pizza or donuts. Lots of rides/bouncy castles, foam party for the kids. We met a few characters Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Paw patrol. Great atmosphere.

Very underwhelming

The even seemed quite well organised. I feel like the event was misrepresented as a monster truck show. You would think that this would be the main focus of the event. However, it seemed like that was the draw to get you on as the majority of it was a small version of the hoppings with expensive fairground rides as the main money maker. The main show ground events were 2 separate motorbike acts with the monster truck show in between. The first bike show was perfectly fine. The monster truck show, the main selling point was a major let down. The truck trundled over crushed cars 3 times. There was a lot of commentary before and during but the main event was a let down. The last motorbike demonstration was done by the wife and husband who did the earlier commentary. His banter was in bad taste and not appropriate for a family event. I am just pleased that we found a voucher code for 75% off so we didn’t pay the full £135 cost for a family of 4. This could of been so much better for the children but the high cost of rides and lack of monster trucks plus the out of place adult ‘humour’ from the last act made it boring and not value for money

Grandchildren loved the rides

Went to Wooler Show field to see Monstertrucks. Grandchildren loved the rides, great variety available costing £3 - £5 per ride. However, two members of staff on separate rides/activities were surly and unhelpful - they both need training in customer service! Also, it would have been better if a gazebo or tent was available to provide some shade or shelter. Monstertrucks were great!
Unless I'm mistaken, Bluey the cartoon character did not put in an appearance as sheduled so grandson was disappointed.
Foam party was great fun, Ms Rachel who entertained the little ones was really good, staff on caterpillar roller coaster and dodgems were friendly and professional. Car parking was free and well organised. Attendants on entry were friendly and gave a good first impression. Spent a lot of money on rides but this is to be expected at a funfair, was a one off treat, overall a good day out.

Great day out!

Fun day out for the kids and us adults. Very expensive for rides and food so recommend taking picnics and extra £ for rides/ games.
Luckily the weather was great, always helps!

Very disappointed with Fam Fest Live

Very disappointed with Fam Fest Live. The event was hugely overpriced for what was on offer and did not provide good value for money.

One of the biggest issues was the complete lack of vegetarian food options. In this day and age, it’s disappointing that dietary requirements were not catered for properly.

The seating arrangements were also poor, with nowhere near enough comfortable places to sit and take a break. For a family event, this should have been much better thought out.

The noise levels were excessive throughout the event. It was incredibly loud and overstimulating, especially for younger children and anyone who may be sensitive to noise. Rather than being enjoyable, it felt stressful and overwhelming.

Overall, we left feeling disappointed and frustrated. Unfortunately, I would not recommend Fam Fest Live and would not attend again.

Disappointing day out

Disappointing day out. £20 per ticket. Even for a 3 year old. All rides at cost. One walk around and you’re already £20 down just for a few rides.

I wouldn’t recommend this to other families. Wish we would have checked other online reviews before attending.

Save your money for something better!

Attended haydock event,What a rip off! After buying tickets I expected so much more than 1 monster truck which to be honest we couldn’t really see anyway due to the sheer amount of people packed around the arena.
Everything was over priced,we ended up leaving just after an hour because if not we would have ended up spending ££ just to keep the little one amused.
‘Character’ appearances where also an absolute joke, the transformers looked like somebody had last minute printed them on a 3D printer.

Be prepared

Great entertainment but all food and drink far too expensive. A few £ too expensive.
If entry tickets were less expensive I could understand it.
