This is the 5th time I’ve planned my holiday with Rickshaw. I find their help invaluable and together with our holiday wish list and their expertise we arrive at an itinerary. I could speak to them ,ask any questions , or email and always got a helpful reply . I’ve booked holidays to Vietnam , Nepal , Easter island and s America , Peru and Panama , and we’ve just returned from Indonesia . Rickshaw specialists have visited these places so their knowledge is first hand . We have our own drivers and guides who are dependable and knowledgeable .They are my number one choice for our holidays/ adventures and I can highly recommend .

The website has lots of information on each destination. Ceri was extremely helpful and provided us with a proposal for our tailored holuday to central america. She was polite and professional at all times. We had a great experience.

Our second time using Rickshaw travel, because we had such a great experience dealing with Ceri for a trip to Indonesia. We returned to them this year as we wanted a trip to India . This time we dealt with David as Rickshaw assign their staff who have experience and knowledge of the country you are planning to visit.

Yet again we were blown away at how much time and effort David put into making sure everything about the trip was what we wanted. From flights to hotels to helping us build a customised itinerary that visited the places we wanted and was the exact length of time we had available.

The most fantastic holiday , 23 days and 8 Greek islands , each fantastic. Accommodation was great, the 5 “excursions / planned days “ were fantastic. Each hotel was very well located , transfers to / from ferries were great and the ferries were great and a great spectacle to watch

Our travels in Japan were fabulous. All the hotels chosen were well placed and comfortable and all the train travel details from place to place were clear to follow. We have used Rickshaw several times, when going to countries we didn't know and wanted to see in detail. We will use them again as they are the best we've found.

Excellent help planning and booking a recent family trip to Albania. Steve began by asking where we'd travelled previously/ what we enjoyed doing, to help build a plan- and it was spot on! Perfect balance of assistance, pre- booked activities and independent/ self drive time. It's clear the team have good local knowledge, abd each place we stayed was great. The travel booklet with extra tips, contact numbers and restaurant suggestions was a lovely touch. We'll be using Rikshaw again!

Have traveled many times with Rickshaw and can not praise them enough. From the first phone call to the returning cup of tea everything has always been perfect. We have just booked again for December and will be going with them again in April.

We booked a multi centre trip with Rob to China and WOW! it was just wonderful from start to finish and exceeded all expectations.
The trip was a real mix of culture, history, cities, countryside, mountains and local life.
The people are lovely and very welcoming. The transport links are incredible and we particularly enjoyed travelling on the bullet trains.
So many highlights, The Great Wall, Terracotta Warriors, Pandas, Pingyao city walls, Cycling in the countryside, Zip line in Zhangjiajie are just some.
We would definitely recommend China and as always everything went like clockwork.

Miles put together an amazing trip to Japan for us. We visited Osaka, Kyoto, Fuji and Tokyo. Hotels were excellent and all travel, transfers and excursions ran smoothly. I’m sure we’ll be using Rickshaw Travel again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone. The public transport is out of this world and it is so easy to get where you want to be. The local people cannot do enough to help. We loved everything about our trip apart from coming home. Thank you Miles

We used Rickshaw Travel for our family ( grown up children) holiday to Borneo May 2025. They were extremely helpful from the outset and were always there to help clarify our ideas and draw up a workable itinerary, making sure we ticked off all our must see and must do items.
As we had never been to Borneo before, we relied upon their links with local companies and knowledge of the best attractions to visit.
The communication with Rickshaw Staff during the planning stage was excellent. We were always in the loop and were able to discuss options and fine tune the plans right up to the last minute.
Every step of the journey from the touchdown of the flight into Kuching, until the departure from Sandakan two weeks later was really well planned and smoothly executed.

We had extremely helpful, friendly and professional local guides for all the trips. All the drivers were friendly, professional, courteous and extremely helpful. They made us feel so welcome.
This was the amazing experience we had hoped it would be and gave us the time to make some wonderful, emotional and once in a lifetime family memories together.
Thank you Rickshaw for knowing how to put together this awesome experience from orangutans, to turtles, to challenging climbs and meeting locals to experience the absolutely real side of Borneo - We would highly recommend!

Thinking of where to go next year………

Gemma arranged a trip to Zimbabwe and Botswana.All the arrangements were perfect and we had a fantastic time. The walking safari in the Okavango Delta was one of the best things we have ever done - it was such an immersive experience and so thrilling to be part of the environment. Highly recommended.

Had a 3 centre trip booked in Italy, Rome was fabulous and hotel was great, staff were lovely same with serrento, the food was great at the hotel. The car hire was very efficient and the cookery course in serrento was absolutely excellent, I would highly recommend. We stayed in naples unfortunately we didn't like the location of the hotel we were booked into it was right by the docks on a main dual carriage way road, also the location was very shabby and they charged us over 100 euros to park the car for 3 days. Definately wouldn't recommend that. Also had a problem with the tickets on one of the excursions in naples.
But overall a nice holiday.

From the first idea of a Sri Lankan adventure to the booking, payment, arrival and experiences, Rickshaw were great! We had wonderful time with a great driver and the right balance of adventure and relaxing! David was fabulous with suggesting ideas and amending the trip at the planning stage where required.

Miles has organised for us a bespoke trip to Iceland. Three families, three styles, three different countries with different priorities, arrival times and specific requests for experiencing nature. Icelandic friends who saw the itinerary congratulated us on the choice and confirmed the expectation of a wonderfully unique trip. Helpfulness and patience by the buckets! Thank you.

I recently returned from a holiday in Costa Rica, arranged by Rickshaw Travel, and while there were some fantastic moments, a few aspects could have been better.
Car Hire: The car we rented had a gearbox issue, requiring manual shifts from 1st to 2nd gear. The wipers were also inadequate, leaving smears on the windscreen. The car's Wi-Fi was ineffective, but luckily, we had a local SIM card to rely on.
Accommodations: The accommodations in Fortuna and Monteverde were comfortable, though I expected two double beds instead of a double and a single. The staff and rooms at both locations were lovely.
Itinerary: It would have been helpful if the itinerary included hotel addresses and Google Maps links to ensure we were heading to the correct locations. Including check-in times for the hotels would also be beneficial.

Guide: Jorge, our guide provided by Eco-Lodge Travel, was brilliant and made our experience in Tortuguero National Park truly special.

Samara Pacific Lodge: I was disappointed with the Samara Pacific Lodge. Despite requesting a beachfront hotel, we were 800 meters from a non-swimmable beach and a 3 km drive from a swimmable one. Fortunately, we had a car. The lodge did not provide water or tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms or reception area. We had to wait until 7:30 AM for breakfast to get any coffee or water, as nothing locally opened until 7 AM. The menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner was very limited, with repetitive options like pizza, lasagna, or greasy paninis. The staff were not accommodating to requests outside the menu choices. We had to ask for clean towels, which should be provided automatically. The bar was supposed to close at 8:30 PM but often closed at 8 PM, making us feel like an inconvenience when ordering drinks close to closing time. It would have been nice if the staff occasionally walked around the pool to offer drinks and collect empties, but we always had to go to the bar to order, and even then, they sometimes got the order wrong. I would not stay here again.
Overall, we had a lovely holiday. The itinerary was great, and we enjoyed all the excursions. The guides, especially Jorge, were fantastic.
Lastly, I believe I was overcharged by £100, as the initial deposit was not deducted from the final payment. I didn't notice this at the time, or I would have mentioned it.
Thank you, Rickshaw Travel, for arranging a lovely holiday. I would definitely visit Costa Rica again and use your services for future trips to other destinations.

Be warned that whilst Rickshaw Travel were extremely helpful in planning our family holiday in Thailand, they were not helpful when my mother was thrown from the back of a truck and broke both her shoulders.
We were on a trip organised by the hotel, Havana Beach Resort, Koh Phangan, a hotel booked for us by Rickshaw Travel through their local agents, Kiiri travel.
Neither the hotel nor Rickshaw have taken any responsibility for this totally avoidable accident.
My mother had to be repatriated, suffered life changing injuries and ruined what was supposed to be the holiday of a life time.
The Havana Beach Hotel has never responded to any contact made by us and Rickshaw seem to have totally washed their hands of it altogether.
Totally un-acceptable!
