The Spam Has Stopped!
Let me start out by saying that I have only just finished the first month of an annual subscription. Based on these reviews, I have my fingers crossed about what will happen at renewal time.
During my first month, I have not received a single spam call. I still see them listed as Recent Calls, but the phone doesn't ring and apparently the answer bot has effectively deterred the spam bots from leaving a voicemail, because there have been none. Two or three calls that I wanted to receive were blocked, but as those were from real people, I did have voicemails and was able to call back. The voicemail-to text feature works fairly well, except for a tendency to miss the first syllable or two. I would call this total control of the spam calls. I could not have asked for a better solution.
The texting side of the app is equally effective against spammers, in particular because it allows you to specify key words or phrases to block. This feature has completely silenced the relentless barrage of texts about politics, mortgages, and auto insurance that I used to get. Frankly, I don't understand why other spam blockers don't have this feature. If Truecaller or CallControl or ActiveArmor (or how many others have I tried?) did this, I would never have needed to try Robokiller.
The text function does not handle SMS; it breaks them down into small MMS bites, which means one text can turn into six or eight. A little awkward to read but it's mostly workable. Its biggest weakness is that it does not do RCS. All you see is a blank text with a nonsense 5-digit number and maybe an icon (avatar?) with the initials of the texter. I'm not saavy enough to understand why it does this, but it can really complicate messaging anyone with an iPhone, or any group involving someone with an iPhone. As a workaround, when I see the blank text, I switch my default app to Messages to download the message, then switch back to Robokiller, where the text of the message can now be found. For me, this works even though it is undesirable, as I don't get a lot of RCS messages. For somebody else it might be a deal-killer. I am just so happy that the spam has stopped that I am sticking with it.
I have to say that all the harsh comments about pricing, payment, and cancellation issues have led me to be concerned about what will happen 11 months from now at renewal time. That, plus the lack of SMS and RCS support makes me wonder about the organization behind this.
These people are rip off artists
These people are rip off artists. I signed up with the 7-day free trial. This I understood I would be charged $4.99/month. Ok. I guess I could live with that. Then when I went into my iPhone subscription settings, it shows that I'm signed up for Robokiller Premium+, and I'm being charged $7.99/WEEK!!! I could use some explicatives here but these people are hood-winker and wankers. I cancelled the subscription immediately
Great Call Blocker Until It Accidentally Blocks Important Numbers
This app is the most deceptively difficult to manage call blocking app on earth... The problem arises when a vendor's outgoing number is accidentally blocked and you don't know the number... The app won't tell you the number, so you can't allow it... Your only option is to cancel and deactivate Robokiller... Never again... I'm getting a new phone with a new number and this piece of junk is done.... Robokiller is sooooo fired...
It does not work and the company will…
It does not work and the company will not let me cancel. It is a scam. The website dashboard is not working and I cannot cancel my subscription. When I email them all I get is an AI response back. Do not download this app.
Change phones
Robo killer I'm just trying to move it from one phone to the next I paid for a whole year and I get the runaround from them and also they tell me to go to Apple for a refund no one will give me a refund all I'm doing is talking to bots This company sucks
Tried RoboKiller repeatedly over many years and it's still awful.
I've tried RoboKiller at least three times. We all want a spam call blocker that works, but don't bother unless you want to waste tons of time troubleshooting to no avail. This latest attempt got my hopes up as the setup process is much more polished than before, however the app is still plagued with problems. The last straw this time (and I certainly won't be trying further) is that my voicemail worked fine for a while after installation, then days later I'm getting notified by important callers that they left voicemails which apparently went into a black hole. Now I get to figure out whether it left some setup on my phone that causes issues after disabling it. NEVER again.
Do not install
Robokiller was well mentioned and had a great beginning. Now though there's no way to opt out of the free trial. Which forces you into a paid subscription. It doesn't uninstall well which I wouldn't have known except for the fact that I've got other software working monitoring that. It leaves a lot of material to clean up on your own. And that still doesn't remove you from the paid service. You can't get in touch with anybody. There's no customer service so to speak that's easily found. I would not Go near this with a 10-ft pole.
Not an effective app
Not an effective app. It uses 'silence unknown callers' on your phone as its best line of defense. You do not need the app to do this. It blocked only 10% of the spam calls.
Robokiller stopped working
I have used Robokiller for about 5 years. This year it stopped working,it blocks nothing. I have alerted them but they have no solution. I regret buying a years subscription and am canceling it when it runs out . I use Spam Killer for blocking texts and it works great.
"Misleading Pricing and Limited Features”
I have been a customer for under a month, and here are my observations:
- Pricing feels misleading. The advertised rate starts at $39.99, but when subscribing it jumps to $69.99. I am currently paying $69.99.
- Spam management is poor. Spam text messages accumulate and cannot be deleted with a single click.
- On 11/26, I had to manually write down all the phone numbers from spam texts and add them into Blocked Number Ranges.
- Message limitations. Texts often arrive split into two or three parts due to a character cap (around 66 characters).
- Customization is lacking. There are no options to change font style or size, and the default font is too small.
- Basic functionality missing. You cannot select and copy phone numbers or OTPs (One-Time Passcodes) directly from messages, which is very frustrating.
For the price being charged, the product should deliver a smoother, more user-friendly experience. I hope these issues are addressed in the next update.
They want to be paid to help you install the app you paid them for
Paid for Robokiller and installed it on my pad then went to install it on my phone had major issues installing it on phone. Contact their support and they wanted me to pay for help to install it on my phone. Absurd. Total con job.
Misleading Pricing
Their website lists the annual price of their service at $39.99 per year on all of their pages comparing their product to competitors. Nowhere does it disclose that there is any form of variable pricing depending on user. In app, the cost is $69.99 per year, and on the website, it is $129.99 per year. When I contacted support to have them correct this discrepancy, they initially didn't read everything I wrote and brushed me off. After pushing, they acknowledged the situation but said "The cost of the app may vary depending on the offer available to you when you start using it. Each user has access to a unique offer that may change from time to time."
Everything I can find online says that these prices are fairly consistent across the board. Some people get small discounts here and there, but as far as I can tell it is exceedingly rare, if happening at all, for anyone to pay as little as they advertise. They have yet to update the pricing information on their website.
0 out of 5, with 0 meaning "THEY are a scam"
I seriously doubt that I need to repeat what everyone else is probably already explained. Suffice it to say that if I could give this app a zero I would. I'm out of this scam. Do not waste your money or risk your privacy on this company. Not only do they allow through the numbers that I tell them to block but they block numbers that I tell them not to block. Also, there's no way to set one message for contacts and another message for scammers. Plus there's no way to transfer obvious scam call phone numbers to block them individually or collectively, you have to memorize the number and go add it individually to the block list but they still let them through. I've had Robo killer for over a year and have given it time to work through whatever Growing Pains it had and it has never gotten better only worse and recently, much much worse. I'm out.
At first it worked then it didn't
At first it worked great it fielded every unwanted call and every call that was not a contact which was mostly spam except for when it wasn't. My child's teachers couldn't get through important clients that were not saved in my phone couldn't get through. Then it just stopped working it feels one call a day when I received hundreds of spam calls literally every day it will block one or two so it's not working anymore yet I'm still paying for it and paid up until May 22nd 2026 so I'm kind of pissed
When you quickly realize it sucks, you cancel and they don’t refund
Garbage, garbage, garbage!! They charge you $240.00 when you sign up for a trial period and never refund your money when you try to cancel due to poor service. Don’t get involved with these people do yourself a favor. You’ll never get your money back and their stuff don’t work. If you have too much money your better off burning it to keep warm than give to these thieves . everyone should simply back charge their credit card on these pricks.
Worthless
This company charges for their service, but cannot deliver. They are out smarted by this scam companies and calls keep coming in, annoying.
No spam calls since I canceled robokiller.
Used it 2 years it caught alot of spam calls.
Then they more than doubled the price without without warning.
Got it canceled and money refunded , the strange part is.
I have not got any spam calls since dropping robokiller very strange or is robokiller the cause of all the spam calls
Very misleading cancellation practice
Very misleading cancellation practice. I signed up for the free 7 day trial—and cancelled within a couple days (it seemed ineffective-and blocked non spam contacts). my cancellation did not display, there was no customer service, and I am saddled with a year subscription for a service I don’t want.
Robokiller was decent once, but fell into the wrong hands, and now you are a pawn to them.
Robokiller used to be a decent service years ago. When Bending Spoons bought the company and tried to sneak in a price hike from $40/yr to $90/yr, they threw up a great big red flag. So, when it was time to renew in July of 2025, and it was clear the company had no plans to deliver any extra value to support this astronomically insane price hike, I immediately cancelled my subscription like any normal person would. It’s sad to see yet another decent service destroyed by such hubris, avarice, and complete lack of empathy for the people that put food on their table. I truly hope that no one continues to support these clowns. If you are a new customer reading this, whatever you do, DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO THIS SCAM, AND DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD unless you love pain. Because of how I subscribed, I had no problem cutting them off, but that has not been the case for countless other people here.
I was a subscriber for years
I was a subscriber for years. Their prices took a major increase and not only that they made it impossible for you to contact them. Nobody wants to take accountability or answer the complaints. It’s all about “ community”. When you click on support and then “ contact us” you go right back to the support page. They do not respond to their complaints. They have lost my trust completely.
