Air to Water Heat Pump…

I had an Air to Water Heat Pump installed at my home in 2021, the actual pump was fine with no problems at all but the installation of the pump and the fitting of the pipework and thermal insulation was a nightmare. It was identified after someone from HIES who checked it that the orientation of the pump was wrong and the thermal insulation on the pipework was not the correct thickness or had not been fitted at all and the radiator in my Bathroom was undersized, Eventually Mike Kellett "the Professor" at Ask Renewables came to my home to observe what was wrong. He informed me that what had to be done was for the pump to be raised over my Water Butt and sat on a special steel upstand. a few weeks later the workmen arrived and I was told that Mitsubishi would not approve lifting the pump onto an upstand and the pump MUST sit on the floor. The workmen then installed a second Heat exchanger in my upstairs Airing cupboard this additional exchange was not shown on the approved Single Line Diagram and rather they then installed a larger radiator in my my down stairs hall. I have spent 3 years reviewing this with Safe World Insurance my Insurance Backed Guarantee Company who admit that they know nothing about Domestic Central Heating or Heat Pumps.
We must have clear approved rules, Heat Pump installation is after all Government approved

As with all the other reviews

As with all the other reviews, this insurance was not worth the paper it was written on.
The answer to us for a solar panel claim was, your insurance was invalidated, claim closed!!!!
They refuse to speak to us!

how to make people give up on a claim

the classic insurance company who will keep asking for more and more info (even 'please prove you did not have a finance agreement for £150') to avoid paying. About as bureaucratic and customer unfriendly as ive experienced.

These people will never, ever pay up. Avoid like the plague

My 10 year backed insurance guarantee for a resin driveway became worthless thanks to these charlatans.

When my driveway installation cracked and crumbled the original installers agreed it needed to be redone and dug it up. The next day, they went out of business. No problem I thought - that's why I have the insurance!

They say they can't accept liability because they can't inspect a driveway installation that no longer exists. I provided reams of photographs of the damaged driveway (it's even visible on google streetview!) and yet they still rejected any liability on the claim. It went through an internal complaint process and their kangaroo court process agreed with the original decision - what a surprise!

What is even the point of these people? I will be taking them to court if I have to.

Avoid like the plague, cowboys!

We were another Daylight Energy customer who lost a £2600.00 deposit when they went down. I contacted Safe World about 10 days before the 90 day insurance ran out in April 2023. As there wouldn't be any refunds until Daylight had been formally wound up we wasn't bothered, when I did speak to them again in January 2024 I was told that they hadn't any record of me phoning them in April 2023. I eventually received a reply from them declining to refund the deposit because, as they stated, no record of me speaking to them, I didn't go through HIES to make a claim & I had purchased another system from another supplier.
So, another scam dreamt up by the solar panel industry, is there any difference between them & the double glazing industry in the 1970s or Dodge City in the 1860s?. SafeWorld insurance isn't worth the paper it's printed on!

Safeworld insurance group is completely…

Safeworld insurance group is completely scams and rouge traders. I had 10 years insurance back guarantee on our solar panels and installer went bankrupt.solar system not working but safe world refusing to honour the claim. This company will find every little excuse in the world to refuse claim. Absolutely useless, waste of money and pure hassle. They are not regulated by any law so stay away from them.

Complete waste of time!!

Complete waste of time!!! Three months and still waiting … leak in conservatory but Safeworld Insurance don’t think it is a priority! In fact, it took them over 2 months to organise a surveyor to assess the leak! That said, I’m still waiting for the surveyors report. Meanwhile, water is dripping from the centre piece directly above the main electricity light. Even that hasn’t been sufficient grounds to authorise someone to come out and repair the leak! Like all insurance companies, they are quick to take your money but doubly slow to ever pay out!

I was supposed to have deposit…

I was supposed to have deposit protection insurance on a solar panel installation. Safe Worlds policy only protects my deposit IF the company goes bust in first 120 days, which it did, but they will not pay out unless I take their replacement service AND pay the total amount up front. A waste of time and protection only for the industry not the consumer

Safeworld Deposit Insurance not fit for purpose.

Safeworld underwrote a policy guaranteeing my deposit with the now defunct Tanrec Limited trading as First 4 Solar, who to all practical purposes ceased trading at the end of April 2023, but who have yet as of 26th May 2023 to declare insolvency with Companies House. Despite a notice on their website saying they have gone into administration on 18th May 2023. Their offices are empty and no reply from phone or emails so impossible to request a refund directly from the company as they are no longer trading. Safeworld refuse to pay back my deposit, for which no work has been done. They use a delaying tactic to state that until the company go into administration they cannot consider a claim. My policy runs out on 1st July and they refuse to extend. The policy is not fit for purpose and has been used by HIES as a clever marketing tool to reassure lots of customers and help them part with their money. Safeworld say any extension of the policy is up to Tanrec Ltd, who are not trading. I will be taking this on to the Financial Ombudsman and trying to make as many people as possible aware of this 'scam'.

Typically wriggling out of paying on a technicality.

Safeworld underwrote a policy guaranteeing my deposit with the now defunct Daylight Energy Limited, who to all practical purposes ceased trading in February 2023, but who have yet as of 11th April 2023 to declare insolvency with Companies House. Despite their director having made a public statement that he was out of business, Safeworld refuse to pay back my deposit, relying on this technicality to keep my money, for which no work has been done. The director of Daylight Energy has previously been a listed individual in the Companies House record for PIV Direct Ltd, a company who took a year from Companies House first publishing a gazette warning that PIV would be struck off, until PIV were actually struck off. There is therefore very little hope that Daylight will do the right thing before my insurance runs out tomorrow. Safeworld say any extension of the policy is up to Daylight Energy, who are of course in every practical sense bankrupt, so that's not going to happen. I will of course be taking this on to the Financial Ombudsman.

Insure backed claims scheme for doubling glazing

An insurance company that reputedly backs claims on faulty double glazing if your double glazing installer ceases to trade.

However, in my experience their claims administrators offer a very low level of customer service. Only after I had contacted the Head of Operations were Safeworld willing to entertain a claim on the insurance.

They refused point blank to discuss the poor attitude of their claims administration - their Head of Operations sought to frustrate an audit trail by choosing to repeatedly phone me - despite me not putting my telephone number on correspondence because I wanted an audit trail to be able to show how they operate. It also speaks volumes about their professionalism only people with something to hide would not be prepared to put things in writing.
