No sense of emergency
Been visited recently at SGE and diagnosed with Herpes Zoster by one of the doctors. Pomade was the only suggestion given at that time. I called the day after complaining about the spreading of the infection, the unbearable pains I was experiencing, and the raising fever. I literally begged the person answering the phone to process the prescription of an antiviral, which is absolutely FUNDAMENTAL for treating this infection and aspiring to a more contained spread + shorter duration of it. Any doctor would direct you to take antivirals, and this is explained also in official sources from the Dutch government by the way, where it is clarified that a strict therapy of three weeks with punctual interval of times between tablets must be followed. Without any mercy, the person at SGE insisted that the antiviral was not necessary and that I should just let time pass, of course recommending to take paracetamol, the cure of all the badness. In the end I had to ask a prescription to my doctor in Italy and the medicine was urgently sent via post by my family.
I am not a person who relies on medicine easily, but the system here is a JOKE. It is from my bed with terrible pains all over my body that I shout: YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF, to say the least.
