I have joined Smart Driving in…

I have joined Smart Driving in September 2024 and since then I hardly had to wait for 1 day for any queries. I always received a quick response from the admin team specially Jos. I was offered for my part 2 in car training in Northampton but upon informing to the support team Jos promptly sorted it out by cancelling it and assuring that the training will be arranged in a convenient location. This very morning I emailed asking for a suggestion for the test booked in 10 days and received the response within an hour with extra instructions/information which helped me to resolve the issue quickly. I very much appreciate the team’s help. Nonetheless, Andrew Love called me when my in car training was arranged and he was very helpful in regards of my queries although the training was cancelled because of my inconvenience. Thank you Jos, Andrew and all the team :)

Really helpful staff

Really helpful staff, always friendly and encouraging. One in particular gave me great advice on how to approach the hazard perception tests, really put it into perspective for me when I was slightly panicking

You are unable to take direct debits…if you got your act together, you had my current account details because you took a payment from, as my bank statement will show, don’t go blaming me

You are unable to take direct debits out of accounts set up, your calls are said to be recorded, so why not check the call and give me a refund, because all you do is put me into arrears on the account you are taking money from. So far all I have seemed to have done is pay you money, you forget to say you have to pay extra for theory test, road test. So as a gesture put the money back into the account. Why can’t you get simple things right, do you talk to each other, or is everyone still working from home, all I can see is money signs, you make sure you’re not out of pocket, and it doesn’t matter if we are losing out, when it’s your mistake .

we are sorry you feel you need to leave a 1 star review.

When you started, you chose to make the monthly payment using a credit card. That was your choice.

When you asked us if you can pay another way, we were happy to help you and gave you the correct advice to change this.

Alas, you didn't do this I'm afraid, so of course the next payment was from the initial payment method.

We did of course refund that payment to you, and we are happy to help you with this, please just ask.

If this warrants a 1 star review, then we are sorry, but there is little we can do other than give you the correct advice again.

So far it’s going very well

So far, every contact I have made with SmartDriving has been friendly & professional. I spent quite a bit of time on the phone with Sarah Carter who was patient and extremely helpful.

Because of how impressed I’ve been I have now enrolled in their Driver Instructor training programme and I have complete confidence that I can use that to qualify at a good standard.

The training so far has been useful to me and well structured.

They have also responded quickly to emails and have been very helpful when I have phoned.

DON'T DO MY MISTAKE!!?

Please avoid making the same mistake I did. This is a PDI review. A senior director from the company informed me by phone that my training was cancelled, advising me to "look for a local instructor trainer that can deliver training tailored for you." Given their client-centric business model, you might be surprised by this driving school's lack of personalized service. They offered eight hours of daily training, citing a shortage of ADI trainers in Manchester and requiring a 20+ mile commute. Despite this, they were unable to provide the training, cancelling it after receiving payment and causing me to take seven unpaid days off work. The absence of their cars in Manchester should have been my first warning sign. My advice to all PDIs is to verify their presence in your city before signing up. Otherwise, they may take your money and only provide online videos, freely available on YouTube.

To ensure the situation is represented correctly, I will offer our response.

One of our directors did contact you to discuss the best route to get you to your part 3; as you can imagine, any decision to fully refund somebody's fees and advise them a competitor based more locally is taken very seriously and only in extreme circumstances.

Our national company has over 250 instructors under its brand and 100+ trainers covering all areas, so I'm unsure how you haven't encountered one of our vehicles.

We have multiple PDIs/ADIs in and around Manchester and the majority areas of the UK; I'd absolutely agree with your comment regarding PDIs verifying any information they need with us - we are very open and honest about this, and our recruitment team are always willing to have a chat with anybody interested.

Our content is recorded by one of our directors and our Senior Trainers, so they are unavailable on YouTube or anywhere outside our course.

I feel the need to address how you spoke to the Director on the phone while he was trying to help you - nobody deserves to be spoken to that way, regardless of how you were feeling personally.

We wish you the best of luck with your journey to become a fully qualified ADI.

I have reached out to Louie and Jos…

I have reached out to Louie and Jos recently after failing the hazard perception twice by only 3 and 4 points each time ,yes smashed the theory part with 95 and 94 marks. they have been extremely supportive and have had my dts reviewed by a senior trainer, to be told my scores on both parts are high and I show a thorough understanding was uplifting and that the hazard fails are simply a blip.
Rebooked for mid January along with some pointers from Jos.
Thank you training support , you really do help make this training a positive experience all round.

I reached out to the drive support team…

I reached out to the drive support team for personal reasons, struggling with fitting in all my studying around work, ADHD son, disabled mum, home, life balance, they were very caring, supportive and put my worries at ease.
Very helpful, Answered all my worries and put my mind at ease, supported me with everything I needed.

I have just signed up for the course…

I have just signed up for the course and have had great support from Sarah and the team.
I've recently been medically retired from my 33 year career in law enforcement, and was looking for a career I can design around my commitment to family, so glad I chose Smart Drive can't wait to train and eventually teach.

Today I passed my part 1 theory test…

Today I passed my part 1 theory test very easy as I have been guided by a very supportive team. Only a few surprise questions, but if you’ve read the recommended reading material and put the work in, then you won’t have any problems with them. Looking forward to my part 2. Thank you Smartdriving Team.

A+++

I have found that from start to passing part 2 this company has been a great choice. The support is there as much or as little as you like just a simple email to the team and they sort your query asap. My trainer for part 2 was Lauren at Musselburgh she is a great professional teacher couldn’t fault her in anyway and if I get taught for part 3 to be as good as she is I’m sure I will make a good career out of this
