The guarantee on these doors is not as…
The guarantee on these doors is not as it seems. I had a front door fitted from Solidor about 10 years ago which then developed a defect. I searched around the house and found the guarantee and luckily it was still in date. I contacted Solidor thinking all would be sorted, only to be told that in fact the guarantee had ran out. I was so shocked. And here is the bit they don’t tell you.
The guarantee begins on the date the door is DELIVERED TO THE COMPANY FITTING THE DOOR and not the date it is fitted at your house. So I had in my possession a guarantee with the date 24th March 2026 on it, but in fact, it ran out weeks before this when the door was delivered to the company who were fitting it!! What a joke.
Such a con, and I now have to pay for the door myself even though the door had a guarantee in place. Ridiculous!!

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We do understand how frustrating this situation must feel, especially when you believed the guarantee was still valid, and we’re sorry for the disappointment this caused.
As a manufacturer, our terms and conditions are with the trade installer, who is our direct customer. This means the warranty period begins when the door is delivered to the installer, rather than the date it is fitted at the property. We appreciate that this isn’t always clear to homeowners, and we understand why this has led to confusion in your case.
Warranties do need a clearly defined start and end point, and for manufacturing guarantees this is standard industry practice, as we do not control installation dates or timescales once products leave our factory. Your installer should also be able to advise on any additional workmanship guarantees they provided at the time of installation.
We genuinely regret that this wasn’t the outcome you were hoping for and appreciate you sharing your experience. Your feedback is important and helps highlight where expectations can be better managed in future. Gemma @Solidor
Nice door with one concern

What a nightmare we have had
What a nightmare we have had, the door has swollen, it’s been adjusted by the fitter on many occasions,it’s so hard to open and close, they give a long guarantee when you buy the door and when you contact solidor about the problem with it, they don’t want to know.

Replacement door slabs
Well very impressed in the fitment of our replacement front door slabs. Appointment was made previously for between 9am & 10am, Ash & Ian arrived before & quickly got on with the job in hand. They were both polite & very professional answering any questions that we had.
When they were finished they tidied up after & left no mess at all. We would highly recommend to family & friends.

built late 2024
we moved to a newly built house completed late 24 with 3 solidor doors one of the doors ( front door) the lock mechanism that runs top to bottom and in your face when you open the door.is very poor ie the zink plating is starting to change with blackish grey stains which is very poor for a quality product, i contacted solidor who said i should take it up with the installer ,because i dont know who the installer was, i in effect told i have no warranty ,after reading other reviews is this there std service if so its 1 star, for a quality product .

Solid Trusted Guarantee after 8 years
We had a Solidor fitted around 8 years ago after a really bad experience with a Rockdoor that just didn't like the cold or sunny weather. I contacted Solidor directly because of a issue with the door and spoke to Jessica who communcated every step of the way and organised a site visit by their engineer Paul. After 8 years I didn't hold up much hope of sorting the door out without them trying to come up with some kind of smallprint warranty excuse with me then having to pay for a replacement myself as previously with the Rockdoor. Shocked and amazed, they were absolutely brilliant and organised for a new door to be manufactured under their 10 year warranty. Paul fitted the door and he really is a fantastic guy a true gent and a credit to Solidor with his vast knowledge and experience. Solidor to me are a company to be trusted and they actually do stick by their guarantee, no matter the weather. Thanks again guys for a fantastic experience greatly appreciated in this day and age.
