Top rate service and after care ,I have had a brand new spade in my garden shed for some years and never used it ,I used it for the first time last week and it failed at the blade, Spear and Jackson replaced it on seeing photo without hesitation how refreshing to know that there are still companies who care for their customers.

The liquid was like pure water that cleaned absolutely nothing.
I wrote to Spear & Jackson and their associates: Assured Products
As requested I wasted additional time sending them pics and product details. Got totally ignored. Never buy anything by this company unless you have time and money to throw down the drain.

Broken garden fork. Although I had no receipt for the purchase I knew it was less than 3 years ago. I Emailed Spear & Jackson hoping their 5 year guarantee would cover me. Replacement fork arrived 2 days later by courier. First class service.

Excellent Customer Service, I spoke to Jane when I had a problem with my Long Reach Cutter and she went above and beyond in helping me. She asked me to send photos of what was wrong and the next day emailed letting me know a replacement would be sent which it was ,within a few days.

Excellent after sales service

I bought a spear and jackson easy reach pruner over a year ago and it has been used daily for dead heading and general pruning and it is one of the most useful garden tools that I have ever bought. Unfortunately, the return spring failed. I rang them up and the very helpful representative put a replacement spring in the post free of charge and I received and fitted it next day. 5 star customer service.

If I could give one star I would. Used their garden colours paint today, ‘ocean green’ worst paint I’ve ever used, thin, drippy, wouldn’t adhere to the wood even though I’d sanded, colour was a weird toothpaste mint, not like on the can. Was using it for a picnic table with benchs; I got one bench done, but I’m going to buy something else and bin this, really really bad quality, don’t waste your money.

Excellent customer service. I chose S&J as they seem to be best quality. When I had a problem with a bit of kit Jane from customer services sorted it out instantly with great communications and speedy service. She could not have been better. 100% recommended

Amazing service. For a start my extendable pruner was used quite a bit since I purchased it a few years ago. I was using at on Monday and the spring snapped so I looked online as I would have registered my pruner. I noticed a local spear & Jackson at Attercliffe and I sent an email. Within the hour I received a call from a very nice lady and a new spring was sent out and I received the item today. How fantastic that I am so lucky to have such a great local office and I had nothing to pay either all paid by spear and Jackson. Fabulous service thank you!

Tried to contact them to fix a broken hedge trimmer . It had a 3 year warranty . Just sent me round in circles telling me to take back to the store and they would replace it . Store told me they only guarantee for a year and warranty was with the manufacturer. I emailed again and they sent the same response . Totally ignoring me . Poor service and communication .

I bought a Spear & Jackson stainless steel garden fork with a 10 year guarantee. After three to four years of sterling service, it broke.

I emailed customer service on Monday who responded within a couple of hours and a replacement was delivered on Wednesday.

The handle snapped on my 4 year old Spear & Jackson spade on last Saturday. Took a couple of photos and sent an email to customer services on Sunday. They replied on Monday and a new spade was delivered on Wednesday. Absolutely fabulous service despite some negative views on here. Thanks to Jane at their office.

Absolute disgrace of a company. I bought a hedge trimmer 3 years ago. It has had, I would consider, normal use, I.E. trimmed a 10 ft long hedge 3 times a year (so, used 9 or 10 times) last time I used it, it suddenly started smoking. Stopped it straight away, obviously, when I investigated I could see that the 2 fans inside had broken up and, subsequently, started to show signs of melting.
I contacted S&J to get new fans, I knew it would be out of warranty and was happy to pay for them, and they advised me to take it back to Argos. Naturally they weren’t interested. I got back in touch with S&J and they said (in E-mail) ‘it is unlikely that this part would still be available’ not, it isn’t available, but unlikely to be, very strange. So, I contacted them again to ask if it was, or wasn’t, available and never received a reply.
I paid a little extra in the first place as I thought that S&J was a good brand, but would certainly not buy any product of theirs again.

I have recently had reasons to contact Angela at Spear and Jackson, Sheffield.
Angela has been a first class "Customer Service Officer" in all she has done.
I could not have wished for better.
Thank you Spear and Jackson for employing such a helpful lady, whilst we have not talked but only correspond I can envisage Angela as a lovely smiling efficient lady.

SPEAR AND JACKSON Razorsharp Traditional Anvil And Bypass Secateurs Twin set
Not fit for purpose. Both the secateurs broke soon after limited use. The pin holding the handle and the blade fell apart making these tools useless. Spear and Jackson should recall these secateurs and repalace these with more robust secateurs.

28cm 450 watt strimmer. Worst ever. Constantly keeps breaking the cutting line. Used all the original line. Bought more spear and jackson line and still same problem. Bought two after market lines, still the same. Grrrrr. Line breaks almost every 30 seconds even just strimming grass. It’s like it’s snapping off at the factory holes just as it comes out the from the spool? The line also tightens up in the spool and ends up jamming? Never again Spear & Jackson.

After reading the reviews on here I feared the worse when the handle broke off on my 2yr old spade. I emailed Spear and Jacksons customer service with a couple of photos of the spade, within 2 days a new spade had been delivered at no cost to myself and no hassle at all.

Bought a Spear & Jackson cordless lawnmower S4042X2CR & after one summer of usage the rear roller broke so tried to get a replacement via their customer services & parts, kept on the phone in a queue of just 7 and waited for nearly 45 minutes until it was my turn but they then suddenly hung up saying that they was no one else available! What a complete waste of time and now left with a mower that cannot be used. Be warned!

Don't buy any of their products from Amazon, because when the trowel turns inward, as mine did, the manufacturer whom Amazon says to contact, fobs you off and says that Amazon will provide the return or replacement, and it's impossible to get any help. Lost out £23.99 for an item ordered in March 23 that has hardly been used and became defective in that time. Really disappointed in the manufacturer and would never buy from them again.

Zero stars more appropriate. Shocking customer service. I purchased Spear & Jackson cordless lawnmower via Argos. The item broke (twice). When trying to contact customer services on telephone number provided its almost impossible to get through. 6th in queue on 3 separate occasions for over 30 mins each time. Eventually got through to unhelpful person advising nothing they can do and go back to Argos. When asked for name of person she refused any details saying the number I had called wasn't Spear & Jackson, they were an I independent company but still would not tell me who they were! Bizarre and unprofessional. I will NEVER buy Spear & Jackson products again.

Purchased S&J garden fork several years ago after moving back to UK. First time used, two prongs snapped like twigs. Inspection showed unbelievably poor welding with no penetration between metals and heaps of ' slag ?' Schoolboy welding!
Sent info+pics to CS... several days later. " Fork identified as six years old therefore outside of warranty" This completely ignores the fact that it was PURCHASED 4 years ago and failed the very first time of use.
Only when i looked at the reviews did I see several very common threads and comments; that this is obviously a common failure with their product(s) - dozens listed, some replaced. Some not. Rubbish customer service.
I was stunned by the sheer number of negative/complaining reviews.
If you buy S&J, REMEMBER, they appear to warrant from manufacture date on products that ( according to the reviews) fail with monotonous regularity NOT purchased date !!!!
Dont bother with S&J garden tools !!!
