Bait and switch sales

I run a small automotive shop, have been for over 10 years, in this particular instance, I had a customer that wanted to lower their car, we went back and forth about what the customer wanted, we ultimately decided that a set of BC racing brand coil overs is what he wanted. Found springrates website, website indicated all options that we wanted were available, so we placed the order, only after the order was placed did I receive an email a few days later indicating the "custom" springs we wanted (which were an option to choose for additional cost) were not in stock, so they suggested a stiffer/higher spring rate in place of original choice. After some debate, customer and I decided to go ahead with slightly stiffer springs, as both the customer and I were aware, we are already taking a chance not getting what we originally thought we had "paid" for. Then the company comes back after agreeing to the different springs, that that 2nd option was also, not available, so we recognized this was going nowhere fast and had already wasted a week or so of time delaying the order due to getting a run around, and canceled the order. I noticed that the refund was shorted roughly $90 bucks which equates to the companies 5% "processing" fee hidden in a sub section elsewhere in the bowels of the website, which would be understandable, if the order was what it was supposed to be and then later canceled after some time, not, because the company doesn't know what they do or dont have, or what availability is viable after the order was taken. So it looks very simply to me, that their policy rewards their businesses incompetence to accurately relay what products they can actually offer and take small profits from exercising nothing, but spinning tires, getting nowhere. Personally I would stay away from this company, as I could only imagine if one had problems AFTER receiving a product, how they would off load the burden of responsibility to the consumer, not upon the retailer, this company sounds like its run by soulless lawyers, not automotive enthusiasts as the websites fluff of the origin story would suggest. Go elsewhere as these guys are just micromanaging middle men that profit from "attempting" to be your retailer and obviously only "work" when it suits them.

Frustrating Experience with Defective Shocks and Poor Support

I had a really bad experience with Spring Rates. I bought some BR Racing shocks and had them installed professionally, but they were defective. When I contacted Spring Rates for help, they told me to reach out to the manufacturer instead. I had to wait almost two weeks to get replacements from the manufacturer and submit all sorts of paperwork, which was incredibly frustrating.

Now I have to pay again to remove the broken struts. I won't be buying from them again. If you care about your time and money, I recommend looking elsewhere.
