Exceedingly unprofessional customer service.

I raised a complaint about a poorly completed clean where the cleaner arrived 2.5hrs late, causing me to miss an appointment elsewhere, did a very poor job (I provided photo evidence of entire areas left un-dusted) and the cleaner took and wore my slippers (?!) without asking whilst in my flat.

Unsurprisingly, I requested a refund for services not provided to a reasonable standard, whereby the responses from customer services included the phrases:
"We obviously understand you were not happy with the cleaning she provided. Nonetheless, as she did work for 2hrs why would you not want a person on minimum wage not to be paid." and "It's a human being who provided you 2hrs service not a product.". Seemingly, they were aiming to guilt me into paying for inadequate service and seemed shocked when I did not accept this.

This company seems to lack the basic understanding that customers pay for a certain standard of service and when that's not received, they should be compensated. Instead, Squeke seem to think they hold no responsibility and that a combative and insulting approach is preferable.

I have now raised a case with Amex for a full refund and have deleted my account.

Find somebody else

I found this company via Facebook and booked a one-off clean which turned in to an absolute disaster. The cleaner literally smashed up my home office causing about £800 worth of damage to my brand new desk, my monitor & door.

When I engaged the owner of the company to address this, he was unhelpful, unapologetic and even taunted me that he has an insurance policy but wouldn't use it. No help was offered, not even a partial refund. The response was along the lines of "tough luck". I live in a nice area around the corner from where Squeke are based. I offered for them to come and inspect the damage which they rejected. They seem to think I'm making the whole thing up and have nothing better to do.

I managed to get the initial money back through Amex via a chargeback. For the rest of the damages I have gone through the small claims court (Ref: 297MC977) to do my best and recover what I can.

Do yourself a favour and give this company a wide berth.

We can assure you that we read all of our reviews and take your feedback on board, in order to maintain the high level of service that we offer our customers.

Firstly, following your service you informed us that there were three small chips on your desk, your monitor had a mark on it and your door had been scuffed. You then requested that Squeke pay you the cost of a brand new desk and brand new monitor. Following your complaint we carried out a thorough investigation, and kept you and your partner informed throughout this time. You received several emails from Squeke detailing the progress of the investigation and requesting your input. As you were not present in your property during the clean, it was unclear how any potential damage had been caused. You spoke and texted with your cleaner who assured you she had not damaged anything and she assured us the same. Furthermore, you were not able to send any clear before/after pictures of your items when they were not damaged and you had also moved the desk’s location in the property almost immediately following the clean. Therefore, it was not possible to conclude that any damage had been caused by your cleaner and this was the outcome of the report. We do have an insurance policy in place, however, your case unfortunately did not meet the requirements.

We do apologise that you do not feel you had the high standard of service that we aim to provide for our customers.

Excellent cleaner and good app

App is easy to use with good features. Cleaner was excellent- reliable, trustworthy and very thorough. Will be using service again. Only thing that could be improved is more certainty whether cleaner will have enough time to do the amount of add on cleaning items selected on the app- more transparency needed on that

Didn’t turn up, and company didn’t inform in advance she was unable to make it.

The cleaner didn’t turn up. I confirmed the day before as I needed the clean ahead of guests arriving - an 8am booking so I could set her up before going to work. She confirmed the night before; then never turned up. Also never contacted me to say she couldn’t come.

The cleaner called me to explain her personal situation, which is very understandable, though she also mentioned that she had informed the company the night before and they didn’t pass it onto me in advance of the booking.

Great Service!

I used Squeke for a one off clean of an old apartment that just needed freshened up before we returned it to the landlord. My cleaner, Jurgita, was great - really friendly and very professional. She managed to get the whole place done and exceeded expectations within the agreed timeframe. Will be looking to book a more regular clean again. The booking mechanism is straightforward, if not a little primitive, but the outcome has been excellent. Would recommend to others.

This is my first experience using Squeke Cleaning Services.

This is my first experience using Squeke Cleaning Services.
The site was easy to navigate and I could prioritise what I wanted doing.
On Monday I had a very nice young lady called Mariza O attend our property.
Mariza was prompt and friendly. She was professional and cleaned throughly. I was very happy with her service.
I would recommend Squeke Cleaning Services and will be booking again.

Effective and great backend support

The cleaners are good and one time. The response of the support staff is great. The respond on email even in the middle of the night. Incase the cleaner cancels they provide an alternative immediately

My cleaner left at the start of the pandemic

My wife passed away recently and our cleaner left at the start of the pandemic so I was left without a cleaner. As I’m finding it more and more difficult to clean the flat myself I was delighted to find Squeke and it’s been working very well for me.
