Stephen gave an excellent talk to Wantage Camera Club, showing stunning images from many parts of Scotland, and explaining the background to how he took many of them. He included technical details and spoke about the equipment he used too, which our members appreciated. Very enjoyable evening.

Stephen gave a talk/presentation on ‘Scotland Behind the Lens’, at our Photographic Society, which my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed. As President of this society, I personally received an immense amount of positive feedback from our members. They enjoyed viewing Stephen’s images, this coupled with the technical data behind them and the sharing of his knowledge, made this a most enjoyable evening for all. Stephen Ball came to Musselburgh Camera Club and gave us a wonderful “Scotland Behind the Lens” talk. He was an excellent speaker and showed us some lovely images. His attention to detail must be one of the things that makes his images stand out. He told us that he usually uses a tripod because that forces him to slow down so he can compose his images more precisely in camera and that he often uses focus stacking or makes a panorama from several portrait-orientation images. I was also impressed by his willingness to either make an early start to get good light and avoid the crowds or to take his urban landscape night shots at 2:00-3:00 am when nobody else was about.

Stephen treated us to a fantastic photographic tour of Scotland. It was particularly interesting for me to see his take on some landmarks in Edinburgh and the Lothians, which are local for us. He also showed us many wonderful photos taken further afield in different seasons and under different lighting conditions.

Talking to some of our members after Stephen’s talk, it was clear that we had all admired the outstanding quality of his photography and thoroughly enjoyed his talk. It was also helpful that he told us about the equipment he uses at the beginning, included the location and settings for each image and shared a list of tips with us at the end. I would highly recommend Stephen Ball as a speaker for clubs interested in Scottish landscape photography.

Stephen Ball presented the evening on Zoom to members of a photographic society. He was informative, pleasant, knowledgeable, and the variety of images from the south to the north of Scotland were stunning. A most enjoyable evening.

We had an excellent evening on Zoom. The talk was well structured and Stephen's landscape photography is inspiring. As an added bonus the location and camera settings used to take each photo was shown on the screen as well. Highly recommended for clubs wanting to view some wonderful images with a bit of humour thrown in!

Stephen presented us with an insightful and inspiring talk on his images of Scottish landscapes, covering a great variety of views, locations and image types. Our members thoroughly enjoyed the evening.

Stephen is a very entertaining presenter. His images of Scotland are exceptionally good and he is willing to share his methods of working in the field and his post-processing. His commentary is both interesting and informative. We will certainly invite Stephen to entertain us again in the future and have no hesitation in recommending him to other camera clubs, in fact, we have already done so.

A very good speaker when he gave a lecture to Falkirk camera Club on 29th February 2024. he gave us a presentation entitled 'Scotland through a lens'. Stephens images were absolutely breathtaking backed up with an excellent commentary. wouldn't hesitate to invite Stephen back to our club in the future.

An excellent educational and informative presentation to our photographic society via Zoom. The images were superb and it was really helpful to see the camera settings on each image. I am sure some of our members will be planning trips to some new locations in Scotland now.

Stephen gave us a super Zoom talk on Scottish Landscape photography plus an extra segment on The Edinburgh Tattoo. Well paced for the 2 hour slot and clever presentation with all the relevant camera details available for anybody in the audience. Covering everything from busy cities to lonely landscapes plus a terrific set of picture of the Forth Road and Rail crossings and then the final section on an international event covered from a professional's viewpoint with special access it was a great evening for all our members.

Stephen Ball is undoubtably an excellent landscape photographer. His presentation to our club was clear, concise and informative. The wide range of photographs presented were accompanied by detailed commentary, an insight into the thinking behind each image and camera settings, which most of our members found very useful. All in all we had a very enjoyable evening.

An entertaining and informative evening. While many of the locations shown were ones that we knew, Stephen showed us them in a different light and highlighted the value of revisiting locations in different lights and seasons. His passion for the landscape and the location shone through and I think you've given one or two of us the impetus to look closer to home for inspiration
