I’m giving it 2 stars

I’m giving it 2 stars. The employees are 5 stars but there plant and fish room has a lot of room for improvement. Why ? Black Beard Algae in just about every tank. Poorly kept .

Ashley i don't know her last name she is a supervisor

I had went and bought crickets and didn't realize the ones I bought I should have had them checked I came home they were all dead thirty dollars wasted I had called and the first lady said sorry its policy you should have had them checked nothing they can do so I asked to speak to a supervisor that's when Ashley answered and she was so sweet she said since I didn't know they should be able to give me new ones she was kind helpful and a pleasure to speak to i was angry about to give up on that fish place as I shop there weekly for food and supply's for my reptile collection but thanks to the supervisor Ashley I will be back thank you Ashley

Not What It Used To Be..

I've been coming to that Fish Place since the 1980's when I lived in NJ when it was only just the biggest fish store in the world and it would take me 3 hours to get there. It was an exciting day trip for my friends and I! It was better than going to the Baltimore and Camden Aquariums combined! Now, I'm sorry to say, that over the past 5-10 years since you've become more of a warehouse and changed your look, It's lost its luster for me and I feel the quality of the fish and the selection has become increasingly disappointing.
Prices vs. quality is way off balance and most of the time when I visit, the majority of the tanks are unoccupied and the ones that are, have missing fish identification and pricing information. This one thing alone, makes me turn around and walk out of the fish room in disgust! If I don't know what it is and what it cost, I'm not going to want to even ask any questions!
I understand it's hard now that you've expanded to cover all pet areas and not just fish and that some things will suffer because the attention to detail has been spread over a wider area. I believe you're doing an excellent job with the other areas of the store but, my one true love..the "Fish Room" has suffered drastically. I have hope that things will get better.
This current pandemic situation hasn't helped matters either and not being able to operate at full efficiency and capacity has hurt all businesses world-wide.

Order mistake not corrected

I recently ordered 15 feet of 1 1/4 inch ID tubing. Package arrived quickly, but the ID was only 1 inch and they only sent 11 feet 6 inches of tubing.

They wanted me to return the tubing with a free shipping label, but I had to make due with it by using some plumbing adapters - my job could not wait for a week or two to get it returned and reshipped.

I called customer service, but they claimed the order was the correct length - it obviously wasn't - I measured. In the end, thatfishplace.com would not make any adjustment for my troubles.

I am done - will not order from them again.

Very slow shipping

Ordered a couple things on a Sunday. Monday get an email item has been shipped. Use link to view tracking. Label has been created awaiting package it says. Ok; so I keep checking once in awhile. Days go bye same status. Finally Friday I email them. Kept saying a couple times "it's been shipped you will have your package in a few days. Ok great How about you know; do a job and check maybe make sure tracking is correct. Lol. USPS is slow with tracking they tell me. All of a sudden that evening there's tracking! So what happened it was NOT shipped Monday. Label was created yes. Actually taken to post office; no. Good at collecting your money; yes. Apparently they'll ship when good and ready or you call to find out lol. Stick with Dr foster and smith. Your order will be shipped right away and have your things quickly and in great shape. Haven't even got my stuff from That Fish Place yet so who knows if I'll even get in one piece. Never seen such poor shipping. Could have had things days ago if i would have just ordered from Dr foster and smith.
