Quantity over Quality
I'm so sad that this company decided to hide their reviews on Facebook after I spent that time fully documenting my experience.
Here's the recreation that I can recall.
I was excited to sign on the company because the owner had shown me that she was interested in helping me streamline my business operations. However, during our initial first meeting, the owner of the company told me that I was being rude/aggressive/combative (I don't remember the exact wording) because I was giving her pushback.
Instead of taking the time to understand why I was focused on a particular idea, she took the time to dismiss me since I didn't share her exact opinion. Wanting the relationship to work, I immediately apologized on the spot and tried to move forward.
I should have realized a red flag during the initial meeting though was when we were discussing payroll and the owner claimed that I could increase my margins just buy hiring people at a much lower rate. When I told her that California is an expensive place to have employees, she proudly told me that she was able to hire administrative talent for $20 an hour in the SF bay area. At that point, I should have realized that we weren't aligned.
Instead, I decided to try for just a bit longer. The owner had some suggestions that I could try for web marketing that she promised she'd sent over. However after sending a few emails over 7 days, she didn't reply. Finally after 7 days she told me that she could no longer personally help me and passed me onto her CMO.
The CMO then interviewed me for a bit and then passed me onto a "Fractional CMO" whose first attempt at helping me was to use AI to generate an entire Facebook marketing campaign.
When I brought this to the company's attention, this was when they finally paired me with a "Client Success Manager." They were kind enough to link me with another one of their employees who was very kind. But it was clear that their experience was far too rudimentary to help me with my desires in marketing.
It seems that the brains behind this operation has found a way to scale her business by paying her employees and contractor poor wages and in doing so focuses on quantity over quality. Buyer beware.
