Absolutely incredible holiday in Ecuador & the Galápagos-a holiday of a lifetime!
Tribes were incredibly helpful & organised-Arturo was great. We had a fantastic guide called Fabrizio in Quito - who took us to some incredible places & we stayed in 2 amazing hotels/haciendas.
The Galaxy Sirius, the boat we were on to go round the Galapagos was also amazing, food was superb, the crew were great - the guides Jorje & Cesar were fantastic & the Galápagos were just off the scale incredible! I can’t fault Tribes or the holiday in any way - I really can’t & my wife & I have travelled in many places round the world! I will most definitely use Tribes again, without hesitation! A truly amazing holiday, one of the best of our lives !

From the earliest communications to our last flight home on Tuesday the experience exceeded our expectations. It was a truly brilliantly arranged visit, all arrangements, flights, meet and greet and transport all worked as planned without panic or upset. Thank you.

Don’t know why I’ve taken so long to review but we lead very busy lives and I suppose I did think when we got back on January 26th we’d have heard from tribes asking for feedback 🤷‍♀️
Andrew arranged our trip to Ecuador for Galapagos and Amazon experience and we had an amazing time at both
The reason for the 3* score is that our Quito experience was not so well run and indeed the company that tribes used were almost incommunicado! We were supposed to be met by an English speaking guide. We have never been on a tour to another country where we have not been welcomed and straight away given an emergency contact number and information about our itinerary ie flight info and times . A freelance guide took us out for the first 2 days and during that time I did ask that he contact “the office” for this information. This was never forthcoming . I eventually managed to get “the office” to contact me where we discussed communication issues . The woman I spoke to advised that usually companies do not like customers to share the itinerary details from them! 🤷‍♀️ other trips we’ve been on the first thing they do after welcoming you to their country is to check their itinerary against your original one to make sure all details are correct and give you a couple of people in that country to contact in an emergency. None of this was done!
I’m sure tribes usually do a great job but on this occasion communication was poor for this first leg of the tour

Our experience with booking our special trip to Costa Rica via Tribes was managed excellently by Andrew.

The attention to detail and care given to make sure we had the most enjoyable trip was to a level I have never experienced - ranging from first-hand advice on when best to visit, taking on our feedback on the preferred location for the end of our trip and arranging a room upgrade. As we got closer to leaving, a better option to transfer us from our final hotel back to San Jose airport was offered by Andrew. It gave us an extra hour in bed and an exciting end to the holiday - the internal flight was exciting as we’d never flown in a small plane before.

We’d deffiently use Tribes again and would recommend.

Tribes were excellent at putting together a trip to Costa Rica visiting all the places we had requested. The hotels/lodges we stayed in were all excellent. All the pickups between lodges were on time and everyone was super friendly. I wouldn't hesitate to use Tribes again.

We went to Costa Rica for two weeks for our honeymoon. Our travel agent Alex was brilliant with answering all our questions as we had never been or knew anyone who had been before. The whole trip was so well organised with easy transfers, nice hotel choices, activities booked and clear WhatsApp communications when our itinerary changed ever so slightly. Would highly recommend.

We had an amazing experience with Tribes in Costa Rica. The organisation was excellent from start to finish, with well‑planned activities and excursions that really made the trip special. I honestly can’t fault the locations, the overall experience, or the hotels, everything exceeded expectations and made for an unforgettable adventure.

Excellent in every respect! Tribes organised two back to back trips for us - Peru and then Ecuador, including five days in the Galapagos. Everything about our trips was planned to perfection at a great price. We seamlessly flowed from one location to another with excellent accommodation, restaurants and guides. We can’t praise Tribes enough 🥰

We had a great time in Costa Rica.The accommodation at each of the places we stayed was good at worst and exceptional in others.We were particularly impressed by rooms and food at Si Como No and Corcovado Wilderness Lodge. We loved the hummingbirds at Bosque Del Paz and the sloth which took up residence in Manuel Antonio.Also watching the sunsets from the restaurant at Corcovado Wilderness Lodge

All the transfers were on time and all the drivers and guides were excellent.
We did have a bit of a problem with the itenary provided by the agent at the airport which was incorrect in some instances and incomplete in others but an email to customer services in relation to this was very quickly answered with a complete and informative reply.
Overall I would have no hesitation in booking another holiday with Tribes

We had a great trip to Costa Rica. Everything went so smoothly. We got support with the initial planning, Andrew helping us pin down our itinerary based on our interests and things we’d like to see and do. In Costa Rica we had lovely accommodation, amazing guides and friendly, considerate drivers. The local team were efficient at responding to the couple of queries we had during our stay and also communicating a change to a pick up time well in advance. Overall we would highly recommend tribes to anyone considering a trip to Costa Rica.

Our Costa Rica Itinerary was prepared in conjunction with Alex. Alex was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and timely in his responses. He listened well to what we wanted and the holiday lived up to expectation. Each place we stayed had something unique to offer and was of a very good standard. The transfers were timely, the mini-buses air-conditioned and the drivers very careful. Thank you Tribes for an exhilirating and memorable holiday.

Travelled to Ecuador, Galapagos and Peru, the company did a great job of organising everything, all hotels, transfers and excursions were perfect. Would thoroughly recommend booking with Tribes if going to South America, we even got upgrades at several hotels which was a lovely bonus. The boat we travelled on around the Galapagos was ideal, crew were amazing. Arturo did a fantastic job in pulling all this together, we will remember this holiday for a long time.

Christine at Tribes worked with us to develop a safari experience that exceeded our expectations. We stayed in 7 different lodges over three weeks starting with a day in Arumeru Lodge near Arusha to recover from getting there. We then covered the Taringere National Park (a great start with lots of animals and birds); Lake Natron (very relaxed with lots of flamingos); Olduvai Lodge (next to Ndutu NP where there were lots of wilderbeest and cats); Togoro Plains in the Serengeti (Absolutely fantastic with lots of animals on the doorstep); Lions Paw on the edge of the Ngorongoro crater (Busier but still loads of animals and birds). We finished on the coast at Kasa Lodge in Saadani NP (Peaceful, great swimming and lots of birds). Our guide was highly experienced, very knowledgeable and great to be with. Christine knew Tanzania intimately which allowed her to put together the itinerary at relatively short notice (we only booked 3 months in advance). I would not hesitate to use Tribes again.

Alex organised a great itinerary for us. Everything ran very smoothly, the lodges were fantastic, and the people lovely.
