Great to buy, but NEVER sell here: Broken bots issue instant permanent bans
Vinted spends millions on TV ads telling Australians to clear out their wardrobes, but the moment you list genuine mid-tier or designer clothing, their automated moderation treats you like a criminal.
I was an active user with 100% 5-star feedback, having bought over $1,200 and sold over $500 worth of clothing in two months. Out of nowhere, their bot flagged two authentic t-shirts as "counterfeit"—including one bought directly from Bloomingdale’s in the US earlier this year while I was on holiday (which I still have the receipt for).
Instead of an alert or a simple request for proof, the bot permanently suspended my entire account overnight. There is zero front-line customer service, extremely minimal human review, and no phone number to ring. You are trapped in an automated loop where a computer decides your guilt and nukes your profile.
If you just want to buy cheap clothes, the app is amazing. But please do not list a single item of quality clothing from your personal wardrobe. The moment their bot gets a false positive, you lose your account - including being no longer allowed to buy on the platform.
Sell on Depop or eBay instead, where basic human support exists and selling bans are temporary and just ban selling - not the entire account.
