I revoked authorization, and Vola Finance STILL took $ from my debit card/bank account. They refuse to remove my info and won’t help. This is illegal and unacceptable. Avoid this company at all costs!
Run very far from this app. There are several good ones out there such as Cleo, Dave, Tilt, and Credit Genie. This is NOT one. Requiring a $18 subscription fee to see if you qualify for $120 is not helpful and taking advantage of people. There are many sites that allow you to see how much you qualify for first then charge a small percentage fee for the advance. Beware of any scam site that is not transparent and wants a high subscription fee upfront. This is not typical and indictive of a scam. Run far away from this company.

Vola does not require a paid subscription to view eligibility or qualification amounts. We offer free tiers that allow users to see whether they qualify and for how much, before choosing whether a paid subscription makes sense for them. A subscription is optional and provides access to additional features and higher limits, but it is not required simply to check eligibility.
All pricing and subscription details are disclosed during the sign-up process, and users are never charged without explicitly selecting a paid tier. We understand that different apps use different pricing models (subscriptions vs. per-advance fees), and Vola’s model may not be the right fit for everyone—but it is not a scam, nor is it intended to take advantage of users.

I’ve been using Vola for a while now, and honestly it’s been a lifesaver more than once. There were times I needed a little extra money before payday, and Vola made it super easy to get an advance right when I needed it. I also like that it helps me build credit without a bunch of hassle. The app’s simple to use and I’ve never had any issues getting help when I had questions. It just makes managing money a lot less stressful.
I signed up for Vola and used them once or twice. When I decided to cancel, I could not do so in the app. The settings button that you need to open to cancel, is way up in the upper right on my phone and overlaps with the battery meter and wifi tray on Android. I reported this through the Google play store and opened a support request asking them to cancel. They responded after several days to tell me to cancel through the app even though I told them why I could not do so. I replied with a screenshot showing the problem and again requested that they cancel the subscription. I received no reply. Today, they charged their subscription fee. I will be reporting this transaction as fraud to my bank and filing a complaint with the Ohio Attorney General. Stay away from this company. They're a scam with no service and uncancellable subscriptions.

They lied to me and many more. False advertising. Varo was not on the list of banks they do not take. That is not fair. This is what it says in their site: Banks that Vola doesn't support: Albert, BankMobile VIBE, Chime, Current, Founders Federal Credit Union, GO2bank, MoneyLion - RoarMoney, Oxygen, PNC, PayPal, SoFi, State Employees' Credit Union (NC), T-Mobile MONEY, Travis Credit Union, Venmo - Personal
Varo is not on that list. But they had no problem connecting my account then afterwards say they cannot accept that account even though it’s listed on my Volo account. They had no problem taking my $15 from me from my Varo account. But yet they will not give the advance. I should be able to get through to my Varo account.
Stay away from this company. They are a fraud and scam.

To clarify, Vola does not intentionally exclude or misrepresent supported banks — however, sometimes our banking partners or data providers (like Plaid) temporarily restrict access to certain financial institutions such as Varo. This can cause a mismatch between what appears as connected in the app and what’s eligible for an advance. We’re currently working with our partners to make sure this information stays fully accurate and updated in real time.
