Dreadful experience
Dreadful experience - ordered on 21st January with delivery date of 4th February. Told on 3rd February by their head office that oil won't be delivered on time, no estimate on time other than a few days. Its the middle of winter, we're about to run out of oil, we've got a young family, and its freezing. No empathy, no effort and no attempt to tell us earlier there was no chance of dlivery so we could get another supplier. Simply dreadful.
Useless.Avoid
Would be zero stars if available. Absolutely useless. Failed to meet their delivery date two weeks after the order was sent and are still unable to give a delivery date of less than a further week. Customer Service have no concept of duty of care, particularly to the elderly and try to shift the responsibility on to Boiler Juice, the broker.
Avoid. If you use Boiler Juice you can ask them to remove Chandlers from their searches for you as I have done.
We ordered central heating oil on 9th…
We ordered central heating oil on 9th January 2026 and told it should arrive before their statutory time limit of 10 working days. On the 22nd After 3 phones calls to follow progress we were eventually told that we would not get the fuel for at least a further 10 days wait (no actual date of delivery). We told them we were very low on fuel. We obviously had to cancel and get fuel from a more efficient company, we did at an extra cost of £90 and they promised delivery on Monday 26th. When we complained bitterly that Chandlers were inefficient they said that broken down lorries were the problem and a different person told us "it's the snow and ice" and it's a busy time of year! We said that we should get compensation for their reckless attitude, They replied "we will knock £10 of your next order" what a joke. We obviously had to cancel and ordered from a new company who promised delivery on Monday 26th, at a cost of £90 more than the original chandlers order. Thank you Chandlers for being so understanding and customer friendly. Do you know the one about not being able to organise a / iss up in a brewery?
Failing to impress new customers
I moved into a new property that uses oil for heating. I called and spoke to the sales team who added me onto the village scheme and told me my delivery would be the week of the 24/11/25 and that the full payment of £319.00 plus £50.00 would be taken on the 30th.
I called the week of the 24th to enquire as to how I would allow access, I also wanted to make payment - I was told that I cannot make payment until the oil had been delivered.
I then had WCF trying to take payment on my card, so spoke to accounts who told me that all of the above is incorrect and that I needed to pay it. I paid and explained I had no oil in the tank, I was told that I would receive my delivery on a emergency delivery today.
I was then sent a message that stated they would "endeavour" to get my oil out today - which instantly gave me the feeling I would not get it.
My instincts are correct, it never turned up, so called the sales team to chase. Apparently the driver had some issues with one delivery and therefore I will not receive the oil until early part next week and said "sorry"
I explained that as a new customer - their functioning as a company is not filling me with confidence, that I have a child under 16 in the house and that sorry does help me.
He has gone off to call the transport team, and I doubt I will hear back as I felt they were not even going to have the courtesy and let me know that they were not going to deliver today.
Absolute shambles and the lack of transparency, communication and customer service is not what I envisaged.
Update, was told that I would receive my order today, turns out that I won't and no reason given - just that "they have had to knock off some deliveries.
Avoid this company, they have no idea what they are doing.
Still awaiting an oil delivery…25th, 28th, 3rd, 4th and now 5th of March
Still awaiting an oil delivery purchased through boiler juice. I have been promised 5 delivery dates. This company has a major issue and no back up plan

I have used WCF for over 25 year's, I dont know what has gone wrong but delivery, cancelled and rescheduled after already questioning the wait fir delivery and explaingvthat I would likely run out after waiting 2 weeks for my delivery, this never used to be the case, WCF always #used to go above and beyond to deluver an excellent service, sadly things appear to have changed, so, head office, whatever your new structure is, it isn't working.
If it is a transitional problem you are facing, then you need to explain this to your customers

orderd 1000L as did the neighbours, notified on a delivery date and they have not kept to it on either delivery, they then said it would be a couple of days- still awaiting delivery, no refunds for delay or explanation other than running a couple of days behind, i asked if they could call a couple of days ahead of delivery date to ensure we would be aware they are running as they state a couple of days behind to allow us to either pick up a drum of oil to last the remainding days. this was not something they could do even knowing they are running a couple of days behind across the board! not satisfied at all kids at home and no heating and refuse to go and get yet another 60L drum to tide us over past our delivery time again! DO NOT USE STEER CLEAR not the cheapest and not the service you pay for!
BUYING GROUP MORE EXPENSIVE! BEWARE!
DONT BE MISLED BY THE SO CALLED CHANDLERS “BUYING GROUP” THEY ARE MORE EXPENSIVE THAN SOME OTHERS AND CERTAINLY NO CHEAPER! Very misleading! You DO NOT get your heating oil any cheaper because you are in a buying group! We have continually found oil 2-3p a litre cheaper elsewhere locally compared to the so called buying group at Chandlers! DESPITE THEM SELLING TENS OF THOUSANDS OF LITRES through your buying group, it is more expensive than buying a thousand litres!
Delay delay delay. Poor communication
Ordered 600L heating oil nearly 4 weeks ago. Website issues meant my first order wasn't processed. Subsequent order has been postponed three times and on the re-re-scheduled delivery day I got a call at 16:15 saying it's been postponed again and they'll 'try and get it to you in the next couple of days'. Poor communication, no forthcoming offer of a refund for the extra money paid for faster delivery (I did get this but had to request) and still no oil. We're now out of oil and have no heating, the house is 11 degrees. Thankfully there aren't any children or old people in the house. A cold and frustrated first time (and last time) customer.
