If I could score them a 0 I would

If I could score them a 0 I would. Like so many reviews on here (and I'm talking about the actual ones, not the fake 5* ones they are adding to counter the poor reviews), I am sadly another victim of WMC.
Having purchased a RR Evoque via Car Finance on 24 Aug, trading in my own vehicle, I made the journey home and within an hour the car broke down on the M6 in the middle lane. As it was an automatic I couldn't get it into neutral to have it pushed into the hard shoulder so had to wait until Highways Agency closed the motorway and I was recovered into the hard should. The car was then recovered to a local ASDA by the AA and I had to stay in a hotel overnight before returning the vehicle to WMC the next day. The vehicle had a major engine fault, and oil pressure faults and the AA advised me not to drive it.
WMC agreed, via Car Finance 24/7, to undo the agreement and reverse the deal having the faulty vehicle back and giving me back my traded in vehicle.
Frustratingly, for my traded in vehicle, they had misplaced one of my keys and the V5C in the 24 hours they it. They also refused to refund the balance I paid 24 hours prior until I refused to leave until they did. I also had to go to a local post office to tax my vehicle and fill in the missing V5C document. As of 01 Oct I still have not received my missing key or V5C despite an email from WMC 08 Sep when they advised the key had been found. How long does it take? This is simple customer service.

In summary, give this dealer a wide berth and find someone reputable. I am surprised how they are still in business and will be thankful when this whole issue is resolved.

Update

Unfortunately, since posting my original review, the situation has become even more serious and the matter is still unresolved.

In August, after the ongoing problems with the vehicle, I made it clear to WMC that I no longer wanted to keep the Citroën C4 and requested either a refund or a suitable replacement vehicle. Following discussions, I agreed to give WMC the opportunity to source a suitable replacement as a way of resolving the matter.

I have been patient and cooperative throughout this process, but we are now approaching the end of September and I still do not have a suitable replacement vehicle or a clear resolution. The only replacement vehicle discussed with me so far was a Ford Focus, which I declined because it did not meet my requirements.

There are also still outstanding costs that I have incurred as a result of the problems with the vehicle:

* £60 for a replacement tyre, which I was told would be reimbursed after providing the invoice and my bank details.
* £169.92 for engine oil, after having to purchase approximately 8 litres because of the ongoing oil issue.
* £200.85 in documented lost pay resulting from the problems with the vehicle and occasions where I was not informed that the vehicle would need to remain at the garage, meaning I was unable to make suitable arrangements with work and childcare.

Then, on Saturday 19 September, the situation escalated further.

While driving home from the shops on the motorway, the car displayed an “Engine Fault” warning. The vehicle then began losing power, with the speed steadily reducing despite me continuing to drive, before eventually cutting out.

This was extremely concerning, particularly as it happened while travelling on a motorway. As a result, I have now stopped using the vehicle because I do not feel I can safely rely on it.

This is our family car and we rely on it for essential day-to-day transport, including getting the children to and from nursery, travelling to work, attending appointments and obtaining food and other essentials. Being left without a vehicle I can safely rely on has put a significant practical and financial burden on my family.

I was away on a pre-arranged family holiday with my family from 21 September, which is why I did not immediately contact WMC about the latest incident. I have now formally notified them of what happened.

I have also sent WMC a Formal Letter Before Claim, which was emailed and posted on 14 September 2026. The physical copy was delivered on 15 September and the letter gives WMC until 28 September 2026 to provide a substantive response and resolve the matter.

Since the Letter Before Claim was sent, I have received no response from WMC whatsoever. There has been no substantive response, explanation of their position or proposed resolution.

This is particularly disappointing given how long this matter has already been ongoing and the fact that I have continued to give WMC the opportunity to resolve the situation directly.

I am still hoping WMC will respond and resolve the matter before the deadline and without the need for court proceedings. However, after everything that has happened, including the latest motorway incident involving loss of power and the vehicle cutting out, I am extremely disappointed that the situation has reached this point.

I have retained the relevant correspondence, invoices, receipts, garage documentation and other evidence relating to the problems described above.

I will update this review again if and when WMC resolves the matter.

Velar

Bought a Range Rover Velar from here and can not fault the car or the staff! They went above and beyond to make sure everything was okay with the car and the experience of buying it was as smooth as it could be. Can not recommend them enough. If you want a Land Rover I wouldn't go anywhere else!

Absolutely shocking experience. I rejected the car the day after collecting it after finding problem after problem.
What makes me angry is the previous accident damage was never disclosed. The car had apparently just been serviced/prepared for me, yet an independent MOT found evidence of previous accident damage, including impact damage to the rear crash structure, as well as an oil leak and exhaust issues.
Then when I complained, the dealer barely acknowledged it. Even my finance company's investigation records limited responses and delays from the dealer.
After weeks of fighting it, my complaint has now been fully upheld and the finance agreement unwound.
I wouldn't go near this dealer again. The problems were bad enough, the way they dealt with me afterwards was even worse.

⭐️ 1 STAR

⭐️ 1 STAR — WOULD NOT RECOMMEND

My partner and I had an extremely poor experience with Williams Motor Company Crewe. We arranged finance through Car Loans 365 and bought a car from Williams, but within two weeks the engine management light came on.

The car was returned to Williams several times, but the problem kept coming back. It eventually went into limp mode due to an oil leak, leaving me stranded and forcing me to pay for a hire car. Despite repairs, the car broke down again, and three independent garages advised that there were further issues.

After rejecting the vehicle, my finance provider accepted my complaint within a week, but Williams took over five months to accept the rejection. They still have not repaid my finance provider, leaving the matter unresolved.

The car was also advertised for sale while it was still in my name and I was still making finance payments. My mileage increased by around 100 miles while the car was supposedly being repaired, with no satisfactory explanation. To make matters worse, my number was eventually blocked by the after-sales team.

This has caused significant stress, inconvenience and expense. I strongly advise anyone considering buying from Williams Motor Company Crewe to carry out thorough checks and consider other options.

Terrible after-sales service and…

Terrible after-sales service and completely useless warranty
I bought a car from William a year ago, and unfortunately, it has been an absolute headache from start to finish.
After experiencing a recurring steering noise that can both be heard and felt through the door, I brought the car back to the garage. To start with, their own mechanic acknowledged the issue, confirming he could both hear and feel it. However, the after-sales representative flatly told me there was nothing they could do.
Unwilling to accept that, I pushed the matter further. They eventually booked the car in and replaced the top mount, but this completely failed to cure the noise. When I asked them to take another look, they left my car sitting unattended on Alton Street (a public road in a rough area of Crewe) for days. When I finally got it back, it had a flat tyre, and they hadn't even bothered to check the actual fault.
In the end, I had to cut my losses. My 18-month warranty proved to be entirely useless. When I threatened to take the matter up with Trading Standards, I received a phone call from William's wife, complaining about how I could treat "family" like this—as if that excuses poor business practice. Well, respect works both ways, and I was eventually blocked by both of them.
To anyone considering doing business here: Personally, I wouldn't buy a push bike from him. Save your money and your peace of mind.
